Dear Sir/Madam,
This is to draw your attention to one serious issue which I am facing since last few days. Now-a-days countless men and women are trusting matrimonial sites to meet their suitable profiles and get married. I did the same with shaadi.com and became their registered member on 5th May 2014. My profile id SH02401684 and I registered with my personal email id. I used to visit occasionally and interacted with few members.
To my utter shock, since last Friday evening, i.e. 16th May, I started getting calls and messages from countless persons from different locations and numbers, all saying that I have sent expression of interests to them when in reality I did nothing. Then I tried to login to my shaadi.com profile to check what was going on. And it was chilling to note that my email id, where I was getting all my intimations, have been changed !!! I couldn't access my own profile, let alone know what is happening inside. It was even more intimidating that my picture was also posted there.
I tried to call the site but couldn't connect. So, I opted for online chat with their customer executive and requested to block my number but nothing happened !! Then I talked over phone to their customer executive also. He helped me with the email id and it is again EXTREMELY SHOCKING to note that this email id is totally different from my original one. Quite naturally I couldn't access that mail id or profile. Then the person asked me to send my ID proof over email so that they can inform me the password. Now, please tell me how am I supposed to trust this site with my personal information like PAN card or Voter ID, when my account has been hacked so easily ????
Now am also worried that my profile might have been used as a decoy to get in touch with different persons and elicit personal information from them for unscrupulous purposes!!! Though I am doing my part by warning each contact about the hacking attempt and urging them to stay away from the profile but still there is no way to check what is happening in my profile!!! This is extremely scary for me.
I also have this feeling that the site itself might have played such ghastly tricks to exhaust the money I paid to them!!! This is the information i got from shaadi.com about the fake email id which has been used to hack my profile: wrichard239@yahoo.com
I sent an email to the customer care department on the same day itself, explaining everything but they didn’t even care to reply till date. Now, my profile is blocked. So, I can’t access my own profile in spite of being a paid member! On the other hand, am flooded with phone calls from so-called candidates, on regular basis.
I would request your cell to URGENTLY follow up the issue with shaadi.com and elicit information from them like how this callousness has happened from a reputed site. Also I want an apology for the harassment caused and REFUND of my money
