Consultis, a premier Technical Recruiting Services Company with the single focus of pairing the right candidate and skills set with the right employment opportunity is currently searching for a Java / J2EE Developer for a long-term contract opportunity with our premier client located on the north side of Tampa, FL. Hourly compensation depends on applicable experience, but is at current market rates.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining high quality business solutions and services that are easy to use and highly available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead or develop and maintain comprehensive technical design documentation; including but not limited to software system architecture, high-level design, detailed design, database design, class diagrams, physical & deployment diagrams, etc.
Participate with the review and approval of all other appropriate software system documentation
Perform unit testing on software components or software systems to ensure proper functionality
Perform and participate with peer design and code reviews
Utilize software system change management tool and adhere to corresponding processes
Perform setup and maintain development test lab including all required testing equipment
Participate in 3rd level support to troubleshoot/resolve or escalate defects to software development
Participate in business analysis, requirements gathering or clarification for new software system development / change request
Participate in developing training manuals and software system training classes to improve software system knowledge and customer support
Provide effort estimates for work assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of software development experience with SDLC methodologies
Java and J2EE standards including Servlets, JSP, JSTL, EJB, JMS, JAX-WS, JavaMail
Subversion
Struts 1.x, Hibernate, Spring
JBoss, Apache Tomcat
Internet standards such as HTTP, XML, SOAP, SMTP, Web Services
Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server
Operating Systems including Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista and Linux
Software modeling, Data modeling and database design
Object-oriented design and programming
Highly scalable and available system design
System security for internet, intranet, and extranet
Application deployment for internet, intranet, and extranet
SQL / query including adequate performances
Strong working knowledge of transactions
