Construction companies are increasingly finding benefits for any and all tasks using apps. Case in point? ASAP Systems, www.asapsystems.com, San Francisco, Calif., released a new asset management software feature for reserving fixed assets and equipment in its mobile app, BarCloud.

What does new app include? Many features, from expanded equipment reservation tools and a calendar view to user interface enhancements designed to increase asset control and productivity. And the feature comes at a great value—an unlimited number of users can access this feature without the need to purchase additional user licenses.

With this new release, users from the “View-Only” to “Admin” access levels have the tools and information they need at their fingertips, says Greg Wachowiak, senior director of product development, ASAP Systems.

For construction, there are many successful applications. For example, tool crib management can be a challenge when dealing with a limited amount of tools being shared across several worksites. So it can be a good idea to have workers coordinate the use of each tool ahead of time from their smartphone or tablet.

While this is one example, there are a number of mobile apps that are increasingly providing value to the construction industry.
