+Physical Training [Improving Health]

Welcome back, soldier. This week, we’re going to focus on physical passive skills. The body is an often overlooked key to building a successful life. Did you know that almost 40% of the United States is considered obese? Guess how many of the highly wealthy and influential americans are obese: under 2%. Perhaps there is a correlation.

Improving the health of your body is one of the rare pieces of life that is almost completely under your control. That’s what makes it such a powerful tool for building discipline, endurance, and understanding the connection between putting in strategic work and seeing the results. As you progress in a journey of fitness, you are going to quickly see how closely taking good care of your body translates into taking care of your work, relationships, and finances.

Just as all the other traits we level up here in the Conquer Campaigns, the physical is made up of both active and passive skills. Active skills are where you have to make a concentrated effort over a period of time to make change. Passive skills are a bit more interesting, and a great place to start when it comes to fitness. When you work on changing your passive skills, you are simply replacing a current behavior with a more beneficial one. This usually takes less willpower than active skills. For instance, you will always eat breakfast. Changing your breakfast routine, in theory, is drastically easier than waking up an hour earlier to go to the gym.

This week, we are going to test the implementation of an incredibly powerful passive nutrition skill that can drastically improve your energy, performance, focus, metabolism, and so much more.

+The Role of Nutrition in Mental Health

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this critically important talk, clinical psychologist Julia Rucklidge explores a range of scientific research, including her own, showing the significant role played by nutrition in mental health or illness.

+Systems Reboot

Type: Passive | Time: 5 Days | Skill: +75 to Energy

This week, your priority is to drink only water for 5 days. No soft drinks, dairy, or juice. Black coffee (no cream or sugar) and tea is acceptable. Our body as a system is designed to run on water. It’s the premium gas in our tank. It is the absolute best thing we can continually drink for peak performance.

But instead, we unconsciously sabotage ourselves with the incorrect fuel each and every day. Soda contains horrifying amounts of sugar and chemicals. All-natural fruit juices are still loaded with sugar, something your body doesn’t need constantly throughout the day. Designer coffees and contain almost as many calories as your lunch should.

Flush your system this week. Only water. As much as you can. In order to make this simple, it is strongly recommended you carry a large water bottle with you at all times. Don’t let it leave your side. If you’re comfortable with looking like a goofball, bring a gallon of water with you. If you are a coffee and soda addict, this might be an extremely difficult week for you as your body goes through withdrawals. But by the end of this week, you are going to feel absolutely amazing, with reduced mental fog, increased productivity, and a more energy. You might want to continue this habit permanently.

Juice! can also help you monitor your sleep and your exercise, if you so choose. Each night, pop open Juice! and record your mood and energy levels that day. At the end of the week, you’d be surprised how much this simple change of drinking only water can truly improve your overall wellness.
