The rejuvenated Cue & Curtain Players will be holding auditions on Thursday, January 19 at 7 o’clock in the evening and Saturday, January 21 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, for their production of the comedy, “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” by Neil Simon, on the first floor of the East Hartford Community Cultural Center, 50 Chapman Place. There are roles for one man and three women. The production will be presented April 7, 8 and 9, 2017; rehearsals will be 3 times a week, to be determined once the cast is set.
The story: Barney Cashman, a middle-aged, married nebbish, wants to join the sexual revolution before it is too late. A gentle soul with no experience in adultery, he fails in each of three seductions: Elaine Navazio, a sexpot who likes cigarettes, whiskey, and other women’s husbands; Bobbi Michele, an actress friend who he discovers is madder than a hatter; and Jeannette Fisher, his wife’s best friend, a staunch moralist.
People auditioning will be asked to read from the script and fill out an audition form. People interested in working front-of-house or backstage can stop in; we will meet with them briefly and lay out what our needs are. Anyone working on the production will need to become a member, for which there is a fee of twenty dollars. Questions? Call 312-450-9854 or email msrussell64@yahoo.com.
