A West Hartford man was killed Sunday in an accident near the intersection of Hall Boulevard and Maple Avenue in Bloomfield. Police say a Honda Accord driven by 79-year-old Hans Schafer of West Hartford collided with a Ford Explorer in the northbound lane of Hall Boulevard. Schafer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the Explorer, identified as 55-year-old Gilles Pipernos and 18-year-old Benjamin Pipernos of West Hartford were treated and released.
