Horse carriage rides are just one of the attractions to be enjoyed in Cambodia's Siem Reap province. Best known for the Angkor Wat temple ruins, it is also one of the nine provinces that make up the Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve. Established by Royal Decree in 2001, the reserve's 3.6 million acres are a safe and clean haven for wildlife including over 400 species of fish.

The Kingdom of Siam took control of the province, with its ancient temple, in 1795 until it was returned to Cambodia in 1907.
