This week, man. This week made me its bitch.

To which I say, BRING ON THE VODKA. Luckily, I still have some left. And my wine club delivered last week so there's that...

I should probably stop talking about booze so much on my blog. You guys are all gonna start to worry about me. Or hell, maybe you won't. In which case, you heartless bastards... pass the bottle.

Moving on...

What IS up, Friday?

1. Halloween. Halloween. Halloween. This was a good one. Despite a realization that I might finally and actually be getting a bit old for it (the party was smaller this year and I was surprisingly interested in what my friends were dressing their kids as for once), I enjoyed the crap out of this Halloween.

I decided what I was going to go as this year about 3 minutes after last Halloween ended. I saw the costume on Pinterest, pinned it to one of my private boards so I wouldn't forget, and was SO excited to finally execute it!

If you are wondering - the drum is a hat box a friend kindly donated to the cause. I am so happy with how it turned out, I think I will keep it for a while. I can't stand the idea of throwing it away!

Also, I got to see DANNY ELFMAN in concert. The last time Danny Elfman performed in the U.S. was Halloween 1995 at Oingo Boingo's farewell concert. 18 years later, there was a performance of his best-of-Tim-Burton scores at the Nokia Theatre at LA Live. And when he came out to SING the part of JACK SKELLINGTON, my heart just swelled up with happiness and did 18 million backflips.

I hated to be the asshat with the camera-phone but a woman two rows in front of me had hers up the whole time so I felt fine doing it for a minute. And everyone else did, too. ;)

Halloween bonus. Captain Picard as a lobster. No joke. The man is amazing.

2. Since I mentioned a version of  "Cups" last week and every version of this song makes me shamelessly giddy, here is another version I came across that I am in love with. About 600 students and staff at Coláiste Lurgan in Conamara, Ireland performed it and it's sung in Gaelic. It's lovely.

3. I'll give you a tip. One of my favorite things to read is Mashable's Launchpad. The Launchpad showcases promising new software companies or apps that are less than three years old, have never been covered on Mashable before and are generating less than $1 million in revenue. I love seeing what is coming out - I love some of the ideas people come up with! The most recent piece on Foundd was of particular interest to me. I just downloaded it. Can't wait to play around with it.

4. I haven't been to the movies in a few weeks. I need to carve out some time for that. When I left working in film and TV, one of the things I knew I'd miss was seeing so many screenings. So I've tried very hard to go to the movies quite often. Also, I've stopped buying DVDs. Probably mostly because I am out of room to store them (I own a lot) but also, just cause I've been lazy and hesitant to spend the dough.

These were two of the best movies I saw this year - The Way Way Back and Austenland - and I must own both of them!

5. Okay, apparently I am video crazy this week. This one is actually a couple weeks old but I'm late to the party. Dancer Chris Koo is everything. OMG. Check out his dance to Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" to celebrate its 10th anniversary (shit, I'm old). Also, his YouTube name is "Chrislarious," which I love. Beyonce even popsted it to her Facebook page. Kudos, Chris Koo.
