Celebrating the very best of California culture, past and present, the city of Agoura Hills is presenting the 12th Annual Reyes Adobe Days (RAD) with title sponsor Agoura Dental Group. The four-day festival taking place on Oct. 6-9, is centered at the city’s Reyes Adobe Historical Site, an original California adobe rancho built in 1845. RAD is a weekend of entertainment, historical demonstrations–including rancho activities for kids, museum tours–art, parade, music, recreation, beer and wine tasting, gourmet food trucks and shopping.

“Noog” scavenger hunt for kids to take place around Agoura Hills and will be drawing live and exhibiting the illustrations used in creating his animation. He will also lead the Reyes Adobe Days Parade, kicking off the Day at the Adobe free weekend family festival. on Oct. 8 at 10 a.m.
Day at the Adobe, Oct. 8-9, returns with the popular Kid’s Corral with wildlife exhibits, pony rides, petting zoo and train depot. New rancho themed “Native California” activities include making state flags and flowers, as well as corn grinding, laundry station, old-fashioned games, and arts & crafts.
Headlining entertainment is rock tributes Ghost in the Machine–a tribute to The Police & Sting on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 2:30-4 p.m. and One More for the Road–a tribute to Leonard Skynard on Sunday, October 9, from 2:30 – 4 p.m..Strolling musicians will also play period music throughout the festival grounds. The RAD Farmhouse Tent returns with local artisans featuring craft beers, gifts, beauty and spa treatments, textiles, jewelry, accessories and more. Gourmet Food Trucks will line the festival with a variety of menus including Mexican, BBQ and Middle Eastern.
Night at the Adobe
Art@theAdobe presents the Imagination Gallery with featured chalk artist Tracy Lee Stum who will be drawing live her 3-D, interactive street art during the festival. Stum began street painting in 1998 and is considered by peers, festival directors and viewers alike as one of the finest street painters today having received a Guinness World Record for the largest street painting by an individual. Night at the Adobe opening reception for the gallery will offer a beer tasting with five local craft breweries participating along with wine tasting and gourmet appetizers by local caterers. A book signing of featured artist Tracy Lee Stum
and her new book, “The Art of Chalk,” exploring techniques of prominent artists and designers, will also be part of the event, Friday, Oct. 7 from 6-9 p.m. Ticket price includes 10 tastings with food. Advance purchase is $25 and at the door is $30. Must be 21.
As always, the Senior Fiesta will open the festival weekend on Thursday, Oct. 6, 11 a.m., with Mexican buffet, entertainment, a preview of the art gallery and Reyes Adobe Historical Site Museum tours.
Other weekend events include the RAD Run 10K and 10-mile sanctioned runs will take place through the historic and scenic Santa Monica Mountains in Agoura Hills on Oct. 8. After the race, runners can enjoy music, food and fun at the RAD Runs Corral. Register at http://www.radruns.org. An Equestrian Playday will replace the Gymkhana riding competitions on Sunday morning, Oct. 9. Equestrians are invited to a 9 a.m. breakfast “meet and greet” with their horses followed by a community trail ride and vet talk on horse care.
