At the end of July, we reported that Microsoft had launched Office 365 for Android Phones in the U.S. Luckily for Canada, the wait was short, as two weeks later it’s now available North of the border.

It’s available now free of charge for Canadian Office 365 Home Premium and Office 365 ProPlus subscribers via the Google Play Store, allowing for the viewing and editing of Word, Excel and other Office files on Android handsets, something already available for Windows Phone and iPhone.

As reported previously, the offering is just for Android phones as it has been optimized for that screen size; tablets will come later. And it’s just available to Office 365 subscribers; a mobile-only suite cannot be purchased.
