Caregiver and office employees  of Companions & Homemakers, are you interested in improving your caregiving skills or learning new skills?

Companions & Homemakers has partnered with “In the Know,” a nationally-recognized provider of healthcare and homecare training to bring you specialized training on a variety of topics related to the care you provide to our valued clients.

We have selected 18 in-service courses (see below for course lisitings) that any active caregiver in good standing may request and take. Access to the online or paper in-service course, testing and certification are paid for by Companions & Homemakers, and provided to you at no cost. We offer internet-based training which you can complete online and download and print a Certificate of Completion. For those without internet access, we also offer the same service on paper (by U.S. mail). Note that most public libraries provide free internet access.

Each in-service course takes 1-3 hours to complete, depending on the complexity of the course information. Spend as much time as you’d like – once you have mastered the online or paper content of the course, you’ll be able to take an end-of-course quiz. If you take the quiz online, it is scored instantly and you’ll know if you passed. If you take the paper version, you’ll mail it to us for grading, and we’ll send back your Certificate of Completion if you pass the quiz.

You may take as many in-service courses as you’d like, but please note that to allow others the same opportunity to take courses, we may limit the number of in-service courses you may access at one time. The Training department will track and document all successfully completed courses.
