Any help with this issue gratefully received. I am a long-time virgin customer that recently upgraded from the original V1 superhub to the new Superhub 2ac so I could get the 152 meg service that is available in my area. My last hub was extended wirelessly through the house by the use of three Apple Airports Expresses in the main house and one Apple Airport Extreme in my office at the end of the garden. This seemed to work pretty well, although the wireless was a bit patchy in places. The new superhub 2ac is - IMHO - much superior in terms of its Wi-Fi abilities and makes the requirement for the Apple Airport Express extensions in the house itself redundant. However, I have a garden office at the end of my garden (about 30 m from where the superhub is located) which understandably the Wi-Fi signal cannot reach to. I want to use the Apple Extreme here (as I had with the original V1 modem) so that I can get wireless coverage in the office. However, as soon as I plug in any of the Apple devices (Extreme or Express), the 2AC superhub grinds to a halt and won’t provide connectivity either wirelessly or wired. The only way I can get the system up and running again is to unplug the Apple device and reboot the router. From what I can glean looking at the board here, the only way to get the Apple Extreme to work properly would be to use the superhub in ’modem only’ mode. However, I’m quite happy with the wireless abilities of the superhub itself in the house and I just want to get the wireless signal in the office at the end of the garden. My (no doubt stupid) questions are: 1/. Is it a straightforward case of one or the other? I.e. if I’m using the wireless abilities of the superhub, am I precluded from using the Apple kit to do any form of wireless connectivity or extension? Can the two (Netgear and Apple) coexist on the same wireless network? 2/. Is it likely that it’s only the Apple Extreme that is causing the problem - or could I plug in an Apple airport express on my LAN connections in the office that connects directly into the superhub in the house and use that to distribute wireless in the office? 3/. If I can do the latter, presumably I will have two separate wireless networks that my various wireless devices will have to negotiate as I move from the house to the office. If both networks have the same name in the same password, will this make the coverage seamless or do wireless devices have to know the MAC address etc? 4/. Any other suggested workarounds so that I can ideally keep the Superhub 2ac working as a wireless router but just get some wireless connectivity in my office? Appreciate any input! Thanks…Rod
