How to Clear Cache or Delete and Reinstall Home:

 

If you're experiencing issues with PlayStation Home you can try to Clear your Cache or Delete and Reinstall Home. This can sometimes be useful. You might also want to clear your Cache every month to help keep things fresh.

 

PlayStation®Home- How to Clear Cache-

 

Click START to get to your Navigation screen, Go to OPTIONS, Scroll down to CACHE, Clear Cache. follow the onscreen commands. You will be temporarily disconnected from PlayStation®Home.

The process will take several minutes and then PlayStation®Home will reload and you will be logged in again.

Deleting and Reinstalling PlayStation®Home:

 

On the PlayStation Cross Media Bar highlight the PlayStation Home icon and click the TRIANGLE button on your PS3 Controller and select Delete. When prompted click YES.

*Note, All of your purchased content is saved on the Sony Servers and will NOT be deleted. You are only deleting the Home Application.

Once complete, You can Click on the Home Icon and Reinstall Home.

Follow the on-screen commands. After the install you will be logged into Home after the system Verifies your Purchased Content.

To change your Cache Size:

 

To do this:

Go into your Home Navigator by pushing the Start button on your controller then go to Options.

Then click "Cache"

then "Change Cache size"

Most users will find setting CACHE to 3GB is the most useful, as it is the faster size.

You might also want to clear your cache every month.

How to handle abusive behavior in Home:

 

From within Home, there are several ways to handle abusive behavior.

 

First, you can use the "Grief" system to report abusive behavior. The system allows you to capture screenshots and chat logs to send along with your report to moderators. Right after an incident, hit Select, then Submit a Report. Follow the instructions, and the Home Moderation team will be notified and take further action if necessary. It may take some time before the report is read so In addition to the report,

 

You may "mute" a users' text chat. To use this feature, press the Triangle button on the D-Pad, select the user from the chat log, then press the START button on the D-Pad, then select Mute. Their text will no longer appear to you until the next time you log into Home.
