Bug 1: Quick Menu selection of HFR

Begin with settings as follows:

In the Quick Menu settings indicate that “1-60FPS” is “4K” and “Over 60FPS” is “2K Full”.

In the Main Menu > Camera > S&Q Motion > Setting = "Off", HFR Mode = "Full Scan"; Frame Rate = “100fps”.

Steps to reproduce:

Press hot key 1 on main CAMERA screen to enter FPS menu.

Press jog dial once to select “60FPS”.

Bug 1A: The selection changes to “66FPS” briefly, then after a second or two corrects itself to “60FPS”.

Bug 1B: Going back into the FPS hotkey menu we see that the option to select “Over 60FPS” has been disabled (greyed out).

Bug 1C: Going back into the new Quick Menu we see that the “Over 60FPS” option has been set to “Off”.

Turn “Over 60FPS” back on in the Quick Menu (I’ve selected 2K Full).

Bug 1D: Going back to the FPS hotkey menu we see that the “Over 60FPS” option has reverted to it’s default lowest value of 66FPS, and not the 100FPS it was set to at the start of this exercise.

This, obviously, is quite annoying and slows down a process which was meant to be sped up by the new Quick Menu. From an operator’s perspective there is no reason that selecting a 1-60FPS S&Q setting should switch off the previously saved settings regarding the Over 60FPS S&Q option. Sure, one can only select either 1-60FPS or Over 60FPS at anyone time, but selecting one shouldn’t revert the setting of the other to Off!

Bug 2: Shutter Off

Steps to reproduce:

Press the “Shutter” hotkey on the main CAMERA home screen (current setting is 1/50).

Scroll down to “Off”.

Bug 2A: Immediately, without clicking, this option becomes selected, and the menu is exited.

Bug 2B: Indeed, the entire “Shutter” hotkey has become disabled (greyed out). The only way to access shutter settings again is by going into the Main Menu > Camera > Shutter an turning it back on from there.

Bug 2C: Turning it back on reactivates the “Shutter” hotkey, but not to it’s previous setting (prior to "Off" being auto selected), it is now 1/30.

STATUS: UNACKNOWLEDGED AND UNRESOLVED - THE MPEG XDCAM CODEC SUPPORTS S&Q UP TO 60FPS... SO WHY ISN'T IT POSSIBLE HERE?

Bug 3: MPEG mode FPS hotkey

Steps to reproduce:

Begin with “Rec Format” set to “MPEG 1920x1080 P”.

Bug 3A: The FPS hotkey on the CAMERA home screen is disabled (greyed out). This shouldn’t be the case, as (unless I am very much mistaken) it is in fact possible to use S&Q in MPEGHD up to 60FPS. So, only the “Over 60FPS” option should be greyed out, not the whole menu.

The S&Q option is greyed out in the main menu too.

Bug 4: User Menu issue/camera freezing

Steps to reproduce:

Installed firmware v7.01 (actually I did this the day after it was released).

Went through all my settings and rebuilt my All Files from scratch (I know I don’t need to, but I just wanted a fresh start).

Set my User Menu up as follows:

➡  Base Setting
➡  Format Media
➡  Clip Naming
➡  Timecode
➡  APR
➡  Black
➡  Audio Input
➡  Noise Suppression
➡  Matrix
➡  Picture Cache Record (Setting On/Off)
➡  Interval Record
➡  S&Q Motion
➡  Fan Control
➡  Output Format
➡  Wi-Fi

Bug 4A: Every time I select “Picture Cache Rec” in the User Menu the whole camera freezes completely! Power button doesn’t work. Have to reset by removing battery.

This is repeatable. Happens every time. Have tried rebuilding the User Menu, but still happens.

BUG 5A - UNACKNOWLEDGED AND UNRESOLVED

BUG 5B - UNACKNOWLEDGED AND UNRESOLVED

Bug 5: S&Q / Scan setting

Begin with settings as follows:

In the Quick menu have “1-60FPS” set to “4K” and “Over 60FPS” set to "2K Full”.

Steps to reproduce:

Press option to load Quick Menu.

Scroll up to "1-60FPS" and change "4K" to "2K Center”.

Bug 5A: The “Over 60FPS” option has become disabled. I understand the logic of this, because the FPS/S&Q hotkey now shows “Variable”. This is good. But, the Quick Menu option for "1-60FPS” ought now really to be labeled instead as “1-150FPS” or “1-180FPS” depending on base frequency.

Change “1-60FPS” in the Quick Menu back to “4K”.

Bug 5B: The "Over 60FPS" option has now stuck on, “2K Center" rather than returning to it's previous setting of "2K Full” (which it was when starting this exercise).

The same occurs if “2K Full” in each step is substituted for “2K Center” and visa-versa).

Feature Request: Quick Menu Title/Naming

Tab 4 of the new Quick Menu is “Media” in which there are three options to set the CameraID, Reel# and Camera Position. Very useful! However sometimes it is required to use clip naming instead if ID/Reel/Position. Would it be possible to have the Quick Menu display options to change the Name/Number when this option is selected in the Main Menu?

Or, perhaps even better, a simple RESET option to just reset the number (when in “Title” name mode) to zero (like the option to reset Timecode to Zero)

Feature Request: Custom Page for Quick Menu

May I suggest that the “Viewfinder” page of the new Quick Menu is replaced with a “Custom” page where one can choose their own 8 options to be featured for quick access?

Not all users use the standard Sony EVFs, and for those users this is wasted real estate. Indeed, even for those users who do have the Sony EVFs only two or three out of the eight options on that page really ever need to be changed quickly (the purpose of the Quick Menu).

Indeed, for those who use the Sony EVFs, if this was a “Custom” page, but they wanted the existing options, then they could just add them back in themselves!
