Tonight's game between the Aledo Bearcats and the Highland Park Scots, is the 2012 edition of a 13 year tradition, the Tom Landry Classic, on the SMU campus.

The sun has finally fallen below the press box at Gerald Ford Stadium and given the Aledo fans some shade as the officials toss the coin at midfield.

Highland Park wins the toss and will receive.

The Scots start from their 17 yard line. 3 plays to a first down at the 33. A penalty on the Bearcats defense gives Highland park a first down at the Aledo 42 yard line.

The Bearcat defense holds and the Scots quick kick to the Aledo 15 yard line.

Pate Davis keeps for 14 yards and a first down on the first play. A couple of Caleb Frysinger runs, and a penalty on the Scots, give the Bearcats the ball at the Highland Park 48 yard line with a first and 10. Pate Davis and Caleb Frysinger take turns again and Aledo has a first and 10 at the Scots 24 yard line.

A turnover gives Highland Park the ball back at their 19 yard line. 2 first downs and the Scots are in Aledo territory at the 49. Another first down to the 37 as the first quarter ends.

The second quarter begins with the Scots driving on the Aledo 37 yard line. Another quick kick goes into the end zone and Aledo has the ball at their own 20.

Aledo uses the pass, and two big Pate Davis to Taco Anderson plays to score on this drive. The extra point is good and the Bearcats lead 7-0 with 9:57 left in the first half.

After a nice return by Highland Park, Aledo intercepts a pass and takes over again on their own 47 yard line.
