Responsibilities
Provide Business Technology (BT) leadership for the Enterprise Sytems that support the Finance and HR Functions including Peoplesoft ERP, Concur, Coupa and HFM
Partner with the Enabling Functions Client Service Executive (CSE) and collaborate across the Business Technology organization for delivery and support of information technology solutions and services to the Finance and HR organizations.
The Director/Senior Director Enterprise Systems and ERP will a) work with the Business, the CSE and Enterprise Architecture to define the Business Technology strategy, roadmap, and business case for investment in BT solutions in the Enterprise space, b) be accountable for business requirements and functional analysis, project management and delivery of ERP and Enterprise system solutions, and ongoing support, and c) work with the BT PMO team to manage the BT investments portfolio, and IT operations, maintenance, and support, including measurement and reporting of business results from BT investments and operations.
This person will manage a staff of 20-30 full time employees plus contract resources. Experience working in the service industry or pharma is preferred. Must have ERP experince and Peoplesoft experience is preferred. Knowledge of SOX is needed and must have SDLC. Excellent management and leadership skills are required. Management of remote staff and or/off shore staff is preferred.
Strategy and Business Results
Partner with CSE to shape thinking on how technology solutions can support the goals for the businesses.
Develop and maintain IT systems strategic and operational plans in support of business strategy
Track and proactively communicate business results from BT investments
Architecture, Delivery, and Support
Build integrated solutions on a consistent foundation architecture and manage interdependencies with other BT solutions to create a world-class end-user experience
Contribute to and maintain the enterprise systems architecture. Ensure adherence to standards and protocols for data management and integration between information systems
Implement constinuous improvement initiatives and evaluate current solutions for architectural, design and configuration improvements
Organization
Manage the recruitment, management, development, and retention of staff
Motivate the COE BT team with a compelling vision and achievement of goals
Direct an appropriate organizational structure capable of supporting the information needs of operating entities through appropriate and cost-effective technology
Develop and maintain the annual operating and capital budgets for Enterprise systems operations consistent within established financial guidelines
Adapt strategies and tactics in order to get essential processes and practices in place, make improvements, and achieve organizational success
Identify and manage dependencies with IT partners, internally and externally
Ensure appropriate culture and programs are in place to attract, retain and develop the talent required to support information business services
Manage resource allocation and load balancing and influence prioritization of demand to ensure ability to deliver within resource constraints
Additional responsibilities-in collaboration with functional and regional / BU BT groups:
Interact with vendors and vendor technical support for systems maintenance and enhancement
Analyze and process IT related purchase requisitions, invoices, and quotes
Negotiate and administer licensing, service, and maintenance contracts in partnership with Procurement
Agree upon and ensure adherence to Service Levels for issue resolution in ongoing support
Ensure delivery of agreed upon projects on time and quality, meeting business requirements
Ensure regulatory compliance adherence, such as SOX, and support audits
Manage resources:
20-30 internal FTEs plus project resources as required
Requirements
Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:
Education:
Degree in Computer Science/Business Administration or related discipline. Graduate degree preferred.
Experience (at least 10 years experience in the following areas):
Business process analysis and design; ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
Clear understanding of software development lifecycle and Application support; Project Management; Working knowledge of networking and systems design
Familiarity with system development methodologies
Technology experience: Peoplesoft experience required and related applications in Finance, HR and Commercial, Data management and Business intelligence solutions. Concur, Coupa and HFM a plus.
Experience in a global ERP environment, preferably life-sciences, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and resources concurrently, developing budgets and managing forecasts for BT investments.
Experience in managing major custom or packaged implementation projects with experience delivering to a large and global user base.
Validation, SOX, PCI and other regulatory compliance experience/knowledge.
Strong knowledge of pharma/services business activity
