Responsibilities
This opportunity is with our Selling Solutions team, which partners with top tier pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that deliver. The primary responsibilities of the Associate Sales Director is managing the managed markets and sales teams necessary to meet the Client's/business lead's needs/expectations, business objectives, and contractual metrics. Responsibilities include program oversight, client relationship management, account growth and coordination of internal services for delivery to the client. Key activities include performance or oversight of day-to-day project administrative tasks, coordination and oversight of interdepartmental operational efforts to support the project, and coordination/communication of reports (regularly scheduled, ad hoc, and operational updates). This individual will also be responsible for developing and analyzing a wide range of data, extracting critical findings and providing insights to aid in decision making. The ASD will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization supported. You will have the opportunity to:
Provide leadership, management and financial and operations oversight to field team in support of the NSD and Director, Market Access
Oversee selection, evaluation of employees, and minimize turnover through execution of retention strategy
Ensure relevant data from inVentiv is collected and provided to the MT data aggregator. Develop dashboard report from aggregated data for key stakeholder within MT Pharma
Provide frequent, ongoing performance feedback to all direct reports and foster a team oriented, supportive working environment
Coordinate between appropriate inVentiv service departments to accomplish project essential tasks and deliverables
Work internally with client to support sales training process including approval of all training materials.
Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement
Work closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement
Assist sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitate an organization of continuous process improvement
Conduct strategic analysis of sales performance and market trends in support of NSD and leadership objectives.
Provide proactive management of project and leverage/share best practices whenever possible
Facilitate communication and training to field per management direction
Assist project business lead in managing the project's budget. This includes monitoring invoices, monthly monitoring of budget, verify receipt and payments, coordinate monitoring of contractual SLA's and fees associated with performance of SLA's, if applicable
Attend client/sales meetings, as required. Overnight travel may be required
Collaborate with leadership on the design and administration of incentive compensation plans for the sales force
Reinforce and support NSD in delivering commercial sales/profit objectives for marketed products
Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with the client to discuss and address business issues
Requirements
Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance and an encouraging manner, the ideal candidate has:
Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred
Minimum of 10 years' sales in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industries with 4+ years' management experience required
Experience in sales operations, market access, training and development and/or marketing highly preferred
4+ years' prior experience working in field sales administration/operations experience in the life sciences industry preferred
Pharmaceutical industry or health insurance industry experience in a leadership capacity preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with direct reports, coworkers, managers, vendors and clients
Excellent planning and organization skills to handle multiple priorities
Excellent problem solving skills
In-depth and current knowledge of pharmaceutical sales and marketing strategies including building sales incentive plans
Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels within the organization
Strong organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access & PowerPoint and the use of sales data reporting tools
Ability to travel and possess a valid driver's license to drive toassigned healthcare accounts, unless otherwise specified
