BBC 6 Music Community Radio Work Experience Placement

BBC Radio 6 Music is an interactive digital radio station that celebrates the alternative spirit of music and culture, bringing together the cutting-edge music of today and the iconic and ground-breaking sounds of the past 40 years. The network has a weekly reach of 1.7million listeners and is home to respected music presenters including Shaun Keaveny, Lauren Laverne, Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie, Steve Lamacq, Tom Ravenscroft, Cerys Matthews and Guy Garvey.

BBC Radio 6 Music is offering a work experience placement working alongside the Producer and Assistant Producer of the Lauren Laverne programme. Lauren Laverne presents the weekday mid-morning show on BBC Radio 6 Music. She’s on air Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm featuring live sessions, guests, features and great music.

This placement will be Monday to Friday for four weeks commencing Monday 29th September in the 6 Music headquarters in London. Tasks will include preparing guest and script notes, helping prepare audio, watching live programme broadcasts and working alongside the programme team on other tasks.
