AGE OF ULTRON VS. MARVEL ZOMBIES #1 (Marvel Comics)

Age of Ultron vs Marvel Zombies is a lot more complex than you would think it would be. A real surprise. Loved it. pic.twitter.com/MW0UatYwls

ANNIHILATOR #6 (Legendary Comics)

Maybe im just a Morrison fanboy but Annihilator was kinda amazing. The art was beyond. pic.twitter.com/N8X5kQd1g0

AUTEUR SISTER BAMBI #2 (ONI Press)

Seriously, if by now you dont know how great The Auteur is, I dont know how to help you. pic.twitter.com/JLlRB0SYsV

BATGIRL #41 (DC Comics)

I liked Batgirl #41 quite a bit. Babs Tarr is nailing layouts and she had a high bar set for her, but I really miss Maris Wicks on colors.

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 24, 2015

There are a few pages that suffer from odd luminescent lighting and background fills that don't match the series style.

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 24, 2015

I'd honestly prefer to see the series come out less often with a more consistent look, than have it every four weeks with some assists.

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 24, 2015

The biggest takeaway from Batgirl #41 though is that Babs Tarr is going to have a place in comics for a very long time. Top notch.

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 24, 2015

Booty, booty, booty, booty, rockin' everywhere. pic.twitter.com/UgMVK6Dul9

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 25, 2015

I…..I…..I think I liked this issue of Batgirl? I have thoughts, but not sure how to articulate them. Color me surprised though.

— Katie Scarlett (@KatieScarlett94) June 25, 2015

Thankfully, BG's costume no longer panders to male gaze. pic.twitter.com/2A8TCwbxzV

— Katie Scarlett (@KatieScarlett94) June 25, 2015

Batgirl #41 sets up some potentially juicy storylines. The dialogue was rough in patches but the art was fan-freaking-tastic.

— James Kaplan (@sinisterjhk) June 24, 2015

Daredevil #16 has one of my favorite page turns of the year. Samnee is a master.

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 24, 2015

I suspect I'll be writing yet another piece examining how effectively Samnee and the DD team control the reading experience.

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 24, 2015

The first six pages of Daredevil #16 are perfect comics. I've read them a few times already today and my jaw drops on page six every time.

— Mad Magnett (@ReverendMagnett) June 24, 2015

Can we all talk Daredevil now?? Because those first few pages are amazing.

— Katie Scarlett (@KatieScarlett94) June 25, 2015

Deep State 7 is really good. The last few pages are brilliant. #ncbd #comics

— Comical Podcast (@ComicalPodcast) June 24, 2015

No seriously, why are there several scenes in The Fade Out where Maya is naked or exposed while Charlie is covered/mostly clothed?

— Ray Sonne (@RaySonne) June 24, 2015

HOWARD THE DUCK #4 (Marvel Comics)

Howard the Duck has more jokes than any comic should legally allow Wheres the comics code authority when you need it? pic.twitter.com/jKGUTbFtQC

— Aaron Meyers (@AaronMeyers) June 25, 2015

Howard the Duck 4 is the beginning of a pseudo-infinity gauntlet story, where two of the gems are dance gems. It's pretty funny. #ncbd

Quinones riffing on Ditko makes Howard the Duck #4 my favorite issue yet.

Howard the Duck is just too damn good. pic.twitter.com/lgfe5uRn5f

— Katie Scarlett (@KatieScarlett94) June 25, 2015

— Aaron Meyers (@AaronMeyers) June 24, 2015

Kaptara 3 is bizarre and fun. It's like a drug-altered version of Masters of the Universe, with various other 80's cartoons thrown in. #ncbd

LEGACY OF LUTHER STRODE #2 (Image Comics)

My 1 complaint about Luther Strode: I asked @thesteveorlando for the translation @Justin_Jordan & he wont give it up! pic.twitter.com/TH2td7HFVX

— Aaron Meyers (@AaronMeyers) June 24, 2015

THE LEGACY OF LUTHER STRODE #2: Tradd Moore's art is otherworldly, I loved every second of it. Notable as an underappreciated indie trilogy.

— Justin Giampaoli (@ThirteenMinutes) June 24, 2015

Legacy of Luther Strode 2 is funny, smart, and oh so brutal. There's so much blood! I love it! #ncbd #comics

SUPERMAN #41 (DC Comics)

Superman lost me. Not because the comic is bad, but because between it and Action comics the timing is off by months. pic.twitter.com/Vj7GPYtxek

— Aaron Meyers (@AaronMeyers) June 25, 2015

Superman was fun. Curious to see where the new status quo goes. pic.twitter.com/U7EeNPMcTk

— James Kaplan (@sinisterjhk) June 24, 2015

I've never seen the infuriating winky face used so effectively in a fictional work until I read Superman #41 today.

WAYWARD #9 (Image Comics)

I really love Wayward. Its at the top of my list for beautiful books with some of the best back matter of any comic pic.twitter.com/wjgAQjRQIn

— Aaron Meyers (@AaronMeyers) June 25, 2015

Wayward #9 continues to prove that the series should have started on arc 2. On its own, it's solid. Paired w arc 1, the pacing doesn't match

— Ray Sonne (@RaySonne) June 24, 2015

Rori Lane is a v. different character b/t the 2 arcs & I would have preferred learning of her gradually in arc 2 rather than seeing mismatch

— Ray Sonne (@RaySonne) June 24, 2015

WE ARE ROBIN #1 (DC Comics)

I'm totally digging the new Robin. pic.twitter.com/91W7JJdcGE

— Justin Giampaoli (@ThirteenMinutes) June 25, 2015

WE ARE ROBIN #1: I think this would've worked better with Lee Bermejo on art too, dope colors by Trish Mulvihill though.

— Justin Giampaoli (@ThirteenMinutes) June 25, 2015

One thing We Are Robin is saying to me is that text messages have finally become the norm in comic books.

— Ray Sonne (@RaySonne) June 24, 2015

15 years into the 21st century & fictional communication is beginning to reflect it

— Ray Sonne (@RaySonne) June 24, 2015

Mixed feelings from my first reading of We Are Robin #1. I need a moment to think about it.
