Here Gus Fink, Jeff Brown, & Doug Kavendek of 3 Fright LLC join us on the podcast to chat about the mobile game they’re producing: FrightShow Fighter. It is a bizarre, fun fighting game which, at recording time, was on the the last day of its Kickstarter campaign. We get the whole story of how they’ve been bringing this game together over 3 years and how they’re finally ready to enter their final phase of development. We are thrilled to report that the project was fully funded! Check out the evolution of the Kickstarter campaign here.

I don’t understand this Internet thing people come Kestrel Viva La Tourette Lucy on the men’s Max grill Matthew Green Revolution is at hand. Comcast can move to town pretty soon well to bring it in baby are going to be fighting the good fight on. I’m actually on the front line of the meat grinder. That’s right I’m trying to fight that stadium and they’ll just move in and yeah not everyone’s a fan of the Cobb County Braves. Yeah the Marriott apart. Yeah we basically bribe baseball team to go from a crappy area downtown to a quickly nice area suburbs that is now going to be a catastrophe. And they did publicly say we promise it will never be a martyr stop here. Well thank you guys I mean you know I know in Cobb County they’re going to make good on. It’s so nice to see an honest politician for once. Yeah yeah yeah. Well if it if there’s anything it’s fueled by subtle racism it grew larger than you know they’re probably going to stick to that sort of thing enough to me. Who’s part of our show very well right now. She invited a gentleman who had to divorce lesions from the poetry that she’s publishing or promote since that’s originally got spankings to be leaderless on this interesting new fighting game project with mobile interaction style. We’ve got the whole team with Gus think Jeff brown van Dyk in their final day of kick start it ends on Wednesday morning. So this comes out Tuesday. By now go check out the slide show of writers on Kickstarter circulars Thursday just tune out right now and you know you know why if you see a car just drive it straight to a tree. If you’re late it too late you can’t contribute and your money is no longer worth. And we blame you for my sleep schedule. It’s great if you like clay fired from a super Anya’s it doesn’t take itself too seriously you know it’s like got a good sense of humor about it so it’s a very classic concept and novel approach. It’s like you know Burton doing that stylistically novel yes. Tim Burton which was kind of annoyed by this comparison to read unlike you draw just like Tim Burton’s death. Sorry raising money for IA But yeah you got to the vet I mean they’ve been three years and they got another prototype it’s asking for a legal cash for their second development promotion and release so without further ado the frights. No fight for welcoming me to me it was those as you look at the gusts we heard about your project because you got in touch with your working with teaming to illustrate her book of poetry. I’ll get me yeah to me yeah yeah. Give a different name that you know it. Oh it’s like a hard sound like silly to me. OK yeah. I were Facebook friends and she introduced me to you guys I met you know the Kickstarter about again and then she’s like yeah I want to get you on this and then I think she backed it but she’s got a Twitter follower then hear that book thing to see asking if only part of that your art looks really cool I mean are you inspired by. I mean this feels like Tim Burton. I mean is that is that define one of your inspirations. I mean I get that a lot but honestly no. I feel bad saying that is something people have been they’re leading it. I think it is that you know my my mindset is in that little kid spirit but it’s not a little happy kid. I guess a tormented nightmare. Which kind of kid you know Grant grown up the way I did I think it just had that kind of Fame energy to it not what people relate but if you look at enough of my art you’ll see it’s got its own thing I think you know it’s a lot different but I respect what he doesn’t have meaning and you know when he does kind of pave the way for people like me and other artists though I respect that but most of my you know I guess you just grow up in one thousand nine hundred eighty and you know it’s somewhere in the eighty’s so it’s a little bit between one thousand eight. Like. Between what Batman to a friend who had a book that first poem book he did and I barely looked at it and I just you know it’s neat but he has a very I went to art school feel to it are a very I’m an illustrator very art school where I kind of just throw things out and I don’t care about if something is an accurate even our characters in the in-flight show fight or worse it’s completely anatomically incorrect and I don’t think anatomically incorrect horses look they’re all that I’ll be a Fiat. Right. Come featuring this and anatomically correct horses maybe it’s not as funny as a joke but it was you know yeah I mean but Jeff was able to take that and make it work and you know even a lot of the characters are like that Nick rainbows has a really high knees so you know when I design it I don’t think I will he you know walk and be alive and Jeff able to be like well then me weird but I can make it work. You know and that’s something that is that that wackiness has I was looking at the character designs here fighting game and one of them just loses with charisma. Mr fright are you looking at this is being like your review or like kind of the main character or is that me just projecting like my favorite honor to be here I mean I never know what people say words are going to be Mr Right. And when the story more for a true player yet he is kind of the main character is the reason why this whole thing in the universe for each a fighter. He he would this guy who you know wanted to make more you want to make creatures come to life and death. So give me inciting a lot of people point out you know a little bit of me in him. But yeah definitely I kind of see in the main character and I think for me personally but I think the game only grows in people’s response. You never know than might arise and I didn’t see it and everyone might just be my favorite kind of pointed at me but you need about Detroit you think gardening time. Everyone was so their guy faces was interesting it’s got kind of a Donnie Darko bunny feel going for it. It’s really so that I’ve been waiting for some food and heard a Donnie Darko influence yet but I think yet again giant bunny that’s not too happy looking at that so you know I just stepped out my wife last night about that. Yeah I love this also but still got everyone of the coach guys like to introduce yourself. I’m saying I’m just three D. artist and animator and I bring both. OK I’m a criminal. Well the three of you. How did you guys come up with the idea for creating a fighting game. You know growing up with Street Fighter mortal combat and planted in all that crappy knock off that happened in one thousand nine hundred eighty I was stuck basically in arcade games arcades in Atlantic City allotment mama take me. So in my head as a kid I always thought I would love to have my characters in a fighting game. And I met Jeff. We just kind of met at a horror convention and I said hey we got to hang out immediately but let’s make something and you would never do that you never take people off for but we did the universe all connected and we quickly. Bugging him about making a fighting game agree to it and he would be able to convince me to get on board and luckily we all get along really well. There’s not been those you know classic arguments of like a band or like a trio were like damn it everything you know and these egos go crazy and we have a good flow we all get along really well and it’s been it’s been really nice. What’s your what’s what’s the I guess the skeleton of the game are you. How would you describe the gameplay mechanics. A plane one of and many you know thinking Well it’s similar to street fighter or even more common in the sense that going to be that. We grew up with so you know when you’re standing there the character’s kind of idle you know you get your idea. Kicks and punches and so I mean this is so I think we’re trying to keep it somewhere that the classic Street Fighter with the hope that you know when people are playing at the start in their favorite characters and wanting to do the cool special moves and and the crazy wacky stuff that the characters and OK that’s that’s pretty cool actually. Here’s a thought. So you just feel like emulating like existing structures when you’re programming a new sort of comment like this or like the whole sort of there’s chaining combos and break all kind of things that like come through is this in your header for your character bounce or to the just try to find its own. We’re eventually going to get to calm both of them and they’re afraid now for the advantages and disadvantages of the main one is the characters are basically three different classes so you have kind of your your crumble jacks are kind of the bigger beefier kind of flow or character who does a lot of damage with other moods that you kind of have like a monster girl who you know little bit quicker and quicker moves but not as powerful. So the play of alchemy of going to be and part of that. Also the interesting thing is I don’t know a lot of people don’t know that crunchy in Dr eg it’s one character when you choose it but when you’re fighting the horse doctor if you’ve got a Ph D. you start to get him back and that’s a slower more powerful character. When you finally lose the first round the horse dive and then you’re crunchy the little tiny guy with a cane that jumps around and stuff and that that’s one of the more unique parts of the fighting in that I don’t think they’ve been done before but a lot of the videos we’ve done but the one thing that’s really cool. Do you know I never feel that. All constrained whenever you’re making a fighting game I haven’t seen many fighting games really incorporate motion technology or do a good job with pads like the i Pad or cell phone games have you has made any efforts toward trying to implement some of the new media into fighting games your whole input is like the touch screen. Well that’s that’s one of the things that we kind of started with we started to make this the best mobile fighting NG ever. There is some competition in Maine to Marvel and D.C. And you know there are big multimillion dollar games and would be seen if we’re going to put you to shift up next to each other. He banged away that’s that’s their fighting model on i Pad I found a mother with a little bit better but we’re going to be taking it. Like four steps beyond that and that initial launch of the U.S. but also in like twenty two percent of kids the top one hundred first game we’re going to look at different can be an aquatic like she far more obvious thing that we put it on again a little bit of whack and we want to make it better within the world combat X. It has a lot of these cuts that are constant and are kind of a one time thing but every time you put a game you don’t want to see a swell guy school getting cracked and he gets up and it’s like he’s not any more dumber than a small scrappy the same guy just extra bonus. I think takes away from the game. Yeah honestly I agree it’s very distracting. I mean when you’re when you’re fighting somebody rip their heart out and know the match. It’s like well that’s kind of the stuff like that and it is so high. Like I was taught my wife about that. If your school got cracked in ten places and you got up you should be a lot dumber when you’re fighting. Funny makes you think of Wiley Coyote and I think you know having the horse die that’s it. We’re kind of being realistic with things a little bit even though it’s the most Spanish speaking which still trying to do with a more realistic about certain things and we think it’s funny you mention it. Yeah those old beings but we’re talking about making ours that’s gone and I was wearing those bonds and to each other or convention that I’m not and I’m not. Yeah yeah yeah but we are either monster mania or trailer which the larger you have monster mania something some of his art and Alex working on a side project that I’ve been doing for a while making zombie baby dolls. OK. David also these adults are these like people bringing up sadistic kids they’re all adults that I know weird I had a collector and candidate that bought most of my stuff and I assume she probably has the biggest collection of Acts in the company I started what’s called abomination nursery abomination nursery and they did that for a while and then I wanted to get I stopped doing that because I wanted to move on and do more positive things kind of this kind of was a little bit more of it and I had fun doing it but as well the more of it so I moved on to other things like positivity and had there been any like surprises and like making this game like well what’s been your biggest challenge in making a video game. Well for one thing one of the biggest making more than myself rather than using something else. What you really are. Over and a lot we that grew out of doing my SO that try to practice that coincided with the perfect combination. OK well I’m already making a cut. But one thing that will work on mobile. Yeah I think there were a lot more work but it’s also a lot more control like I can do a lot more of that. But they’re going to require a lot more time. Oh yeah they’re going to build your own engine a set of common with like unity or something up at the end we can do their own thing and in that way but a lot of work. Do you think I can see why it’s a fighting game you can scale it down like entire mechanic. Instead of me not him like you he is a very frustrating thing to get started with you know just to try to make it fit your vision you know. Ultimately if you’re going to make a brand for an indie video game was going to say great job having a really scoped interaction do what you need from it to start with because otherwise that would have been insane. Just like the convention story a little bit. Did you guys like bump into a panel or well Jesse White was collecting some my toys that I made in the past so that when I first came over their house which was the next weekend after I met Jeff and Jackie’s wife I want to get up a head like my little comics on their fridge a little bit and have a few big years in or out so they kind of knew a little bit who I was like you know you need it and I think. It helps them like want me to hang out with them in a way and you know it was just like he went up to my booth and I want to because I thought he was making a cast of little heads you know that he cast himself rather than casting and I was something I was really intrigued by. I was making mass production toys with company. But I always wanted to try and do it myself you know just experiment with so heat for coming home now. He showed me how to do that and even though he made video games for for you know pharmaceuticals for you know companies like that I don’t even know if you did that when we first found out so it was kind of like you know we got sneakers we got there and we didn’t feel awkward he felt like you have been our friends are all like you know the first ever out them so it was really to me it was a really cool experience. Whizzing by are they. Did you say pharmaceutical companies are making video games. It’s actually that the company and I we work together actually we work for a company that does. It’s like I have to tell people that it’s video games for doctors. But you know we did like some of the marketing games and now it’s more like medical education kind of stuff. But if they were doing the same thing Mamdouh and all the three D. animation three D. modeling and everything and they’re not programming so it’s kind of like it’s where we’re doing the same thing would it work but we have fun outside of work. So how does this I AM SORRY I’M SORRY THIS pharmaceutical thing is just strange. Are they I know pharm companies go into doctors’ offices and say hey here’s a whole bunch of you know free lunch and hear some boos star pumping pimping our particular medicine. Are they now handing them video games and saying here to play with video game or email that will work through many of them really dealing with. Two companies in the world because of that and because it got really complicated a lot of so many regulations and all the companies that the problem is really the most directly the doctor that can help them understand quiz game name honor roll and I can hear you know what do you think of that. Do you think that’s you know is that a good thing to be using video games as a teaching tool for doctors trying to find as many different avenues for learning new interesting people learning a million different ways and without having to do with them in order that you know we can in medical education like it’s like doctors have to. All three up themselves every year learn more stuff. So from the stuff we make is basically they are they have a part of the again these are you know interactive software. They learn about a new disease state and how to treat it and all that fun stuff and then they basically get a certificate that says the doctor did this interactive and he gets this many points. But yeah I guess I mean Frank playing a video game burst of going to a seminar or doing a multiple choice survey online. I mean between those I think I think the interactive video game. Yeah and when you make games now are you trying to teach kids anything when they’re playing later that year I think we did that all of that we did do there’s no blood in the game. We purposely did that in a character you know stuff comes out of them but it’s not blood like for example. When you had him you know this is crazy with everything you have and he split wood chips and so there’s no blood in the game of the year we had one guy pretty religious guy contact us at first you kind like this is violent and I don’t promote violence and then I told them like in this way better than you know other games are there’s no guns in this game and like what Jeff said I said the fact there’s a unicorn with his Ph D. and it’s all fantasy and I think when you get kids that fantasy and play and entertainment and fun without a strong sexual were violent appeal because the competitors have that blood or appeal so I think you know our game’s dark it’s weird it’s funny but it’s still safe and two daughters and I knew them playing it would not be a bad thing in any way whatsoever so I think having that kind of fun element to it it’s a good part of the thing for kids out there you know we could have taken this and made it the most gory game for all the creatures are and done that but we definitely made a decision not to do that so if anything there’s a that you know that not too much education but laughter and fun and entertaining so the moment you saw the Kickstarter he just felt compelled to share his religious. Well yeah I mean we promoted it to everybody kind of you know you know just to try to get this thing going to a few people here and there would stumble and then when I would say that to them. Surprisingly they would take my side and back I took my shy college or they came up and argue and you’re absolutely right you’re doing the right thing and you call that in big you know I don’t I wouldn’t like what you know you say about me you know I don’t go that route at all. Just want to really honest and genuine route and we really appreciate that happen a few times since we launched in everyone being poor after we responded nice we can you know that we’re not trying to have anyone against us are always right you can’t always control that it is so hard to like have a let’s say a measured response to weirdo Internet criticism right. Like a little like this brief and saying I just want to scream at the guy like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Yeah the show we hired someone to do. Transcripts of earlier episodes and we’re going to e-mail back saying I’m sorry this this goes against my beliefs and my religion and I can’t keep writing about your heavy metal conversation and I was like Wow I guess what this is. And that plan sounds like I did a good job of having that conversation. Yeah if no one’s offended you’re probably not do anything right. Right. Yes The right engine since we’ve been on this we jumped in twenty two percent to twenty three percent on steam as well. No update. Oh hell yeah it’s going to have a screen like system work do you need like X.. So are you like waiting to get enough crowd reaction in order to be offered a spot in the store. Yeah I know we’re headed up but I mean they don’t stick with that leave they how it works. Mostly you’re basically putting it once people and they’ve done how much reaction you get now they will be weeding out the things that aren’t going to actually become a game or things that no one will care about because you know the moment a little bit and like compared to the one like that you know they were the one of the things that they started and what they basically want to get to the top. Then it’s like even if you come in the room for the ones I know it’s looking good. However so are you remote right here almost everything on line with your respective responsibilities. Do we work together we all work by ourselves or what are you guys in the same city. Oh cool the way that we do that we coordinate with you know that we have a drop box and call it but we call them every now and then we actually meet up when we need to do more but in the video game room for all that but I mean he has been beta testing and having my players tested yet not yet make it ready or a random standard I mean I be afraid of giving up something that doesn’t give them a like. Absolutely but they were working on the name of the people who ran the House and how the reaction has been so far. But amazed at how crazy the effect that they can be on the other thing so I imagine you guys have been studying fighting games a lot over the power along he has been working on this project like where do you see like fighting games going in the future. Who wants to take this I think that’s the first part of a lot of studying fighting games. We really happen. And that’s. The main thing we want to make super unique game and then got the data on this if you look too much at what’s out there what you’re making you’re going to start to look like that or even feel like that as far as gameplay. So for that I think a lot of it you get in time and I think a lot of it was like I remember when I played Street Fighter how fun it was and so when our venom in the characters I just kept saying about how fun I wanted to be so I wasn’t like looking in thing or how to have a kid you know like heart of how the light right healing can do there. Their punches like I wasn’t trying to emulate any of that So by studying fighting him I just recently like watching watching closely a new more combat I think it looks pretty cool. But like it’s like I haven’t even played it and I don’t know if I want to look at it too much into all this came about theirs but I want to be influenced. Certain for me it’s like a bunch of biting and we have a bunch of crazy I mean for me to ignore me and it’s been over my head and how to relate the weird thing and they want to get up they’ll have to invent a new way the things that we were getting at and I know some of the things that the cool grab them like they’re going to do it but all that is they’re like sort of a way to sum up how you interact with us how you would put the moves you know as the flow sort of arithmetic isn’t more timing isn’t more sequence when I know they’re going to be that they’re going to be what works for both of them and when you know it. But you don’t have the whole room thing where you have your basic mechanics. You know that’s one of them by making it. Yes I mean I’m like Not completely different but we have the whole thing going to be back. But that happens like OK doing it to the sermon and you don’t Overman with the fence and works like different postures. Yes for the money. Yeah you know with this game so that’s a long time in the About two years ago. Well you know I guess the best way to say this is you know toys we can give you know Trotsky toys where you push on the bottom and it might be a skeleton or giraffes and the collapse you know angling bones and then suddenly like. They had toppled over so that in the slight influence of something that we’re trying to execute the idea is basically what if you could push on this question about you and your character will move backwards but you’ll still be standing but is leaning backwards a lot he’s holding that produce. Imagine him throwing an uppercut or or you could pose a forward almost like like you’re really controlling these characters so if they could actually keep that the way we want to I think you could really revolutionize touchpad for fighting games and possibly other kind of game like a puppet master marionette thing like slightly but. Yes kind of puppetry flight level but you’re also able to jump over these things and then you’re able to touch a power up or your guide on fire and you throw a fireball every punch and we’re going to try to do every crazy idea we have without getting you know two could take us where it wouldn’t be fun to play. We’re really just trying to throw out the ideas and make them work instead of it even when I work with game companies it’s like I want to do this in a way no we can’t be expensive or I don’t want to deal with this. We’ve all been able to come up with creative things and go you know we can make that happen. They’ll be able to make everything happen you know and you have to be able to make everything happen in three D. It’s been a really exciting balances always on the most important factors in any sort of a fighting game. What steps of Guy’s been taking to make sure that each of the characters shines in a different way because they’re kind of are you not in the way they’re designed then I think like much before a big balancing is basically how how how much attack in the sense they have and then also basically the balance of how much their special moves to them and so on. You know what your character might have a powerful special move it easier to get off but it might be a little weaker and in my fear I know our special move that hard to get off somehow and that’s going to be a little bit more powerful. And maybe you can’t do it often so you know that we’re still tweaking some of the plate mounting things and that’s going to be a huge part of why I’m Kickstarter. Every single person that you know back gets to be a beta tester because the kind of things they want to hear from the players and the fans you know if someone’s like you know Nick Ramos keeps killing me with you know bubble burping every two seconds or going to say well you know left them that we’re going to have to tweak but we can figure most of that stuff out before you know it. Why those damn make rainbow bubbles every time so very frequently touch screen interactions in these kind of video games kind of get in the way either like touching the screen blocking views or things like that. As I’ve been a frustration for you guys as players and as I’d like gone into like you’re thinking as a design for the All I know from the way that the cameras lined up and we were in the act and the movement is gold below the level of the you’ll never really be a lot like what is going on with your thumb or whatever. Except for when you’re if you’re doing it to get there but having to block it not doing it makes it difficult to pull off. But through all that the other interact and trying to keep far away from like playing areas well and earlier you mentioned your Kickstarter has that gone up we would go before we were going to but we’ve seen our stretch goal territory you know we’re out of it but I mean I’m not going to throw up on the gold. Because even we knew it how everyone but being an indie developer like on your own Does this are you able to find life balance between the job too and I think it’s between having this side project like or like the something got to give at some point they haven’t done a lot for me but they play harder to find that much free time as I did when I don’t have the game going on their phone bill. I’m everything out of the white vote. Because this is something that we’re able to do it on without my ex or other like but on the other a matter everything else going on in my life along with that. Yeah. Well along those lines you know I’m looking at your company here it’s called three fright L.L.C. What’s your goal with three friends or is this just a one off project guys want to make one game or is this like a launching pad to the next great videogame conglomerate. For me I work full time as an artist and you know those guys have the job so for me the goal is to get their guys to be fully committed three freight so we could make like your fighter part two and other games I think you know to me that will be the greatest celebration might be on Kickstarter years anymore. It will then be unable to do this for a living would be to me the happiest moment of the whole thing so we could just keep doing it and growing three freight. Have you envision the whole universe or even though right in the name but I really wouldn’t. In the current But the thing I really like and that the want to bother you know everything so why mobile gaming. I mean is it just you know was there something in particular about the the interaction with with with pads and cell phones that really appeals to you or is it easier to get into the mobile gaming market these days than on Consols. You know for me personally it is acceptable to everybody you know. Now we know we’re doing I.O.’s at first but we plan on doing it for a droid and we also want to have it on you know young skin green light we’re looking forward to that being seen now and then. X. Box Live. We you really want to know everything and so we can get the best growth from that and just you know a lot of mobile games too don’t have anything good on fighting. There’s just just Tryon but I don’t think they succeeded yet. If you play more common a mobile looked terrible and I got my will gainst number ten game right now as far as making money goes I think we could beat the game play and we could beat the gameplay I would be more personal in our game I mean that’s something I want to do and I want to see them you know that as a personal goal of mine. Most of those camps kind of freemium kind of model and I looked at them and then kind of exploit the customer. But yes about two thirds on that as like a sales mechanism. I’m OK I know for me it’s like that in the remake and money and all will be at that because it’s something that we really want to make it come out. I get annoyed when the game like you can read a whole bunch of money or more the point again. Aggravating and we want to figure out a way that we can make money off of it but not by milking but I think that made a lot of weight and ideas in mind that the people get what they want out of it without it being like dragger and yeah it’s like The Simpsons collectors laying on the candy crush of religious taken wise but I just played again last night where it’s great against the contractor. Our game was fun but after the third or fourth level you can’t go back to play the level again you have to spend money to advance because you cannot beat the fourth level. Doesn’t matter how good you are I think that the knowing I don’t want to do that I don’t want to be that being a dog where you have to wait till tomorrow to play. So we’re going to give a lot of free material for mobile not you know you can do it with steam. But for mobile we’re going to give a lot for free and you know we have a guy Nigro character and then everything else all these bonuses will kind of be extras you have to pay for but you could still grow your character level so you could then you know he would be a level seven for the next week you might be a level Levon Well you consented I think you want to play without having to pay. Because of that the park system is basically you know that’s that’s one thing that you know if you play through the story mode and you beat it with a character we’re going to give you stuff that potentially could have bought. But since you actually played our game and you obviously like to play to the end we’re going to give you stuff. This sounds to me like the market is still trying to adjust to how to accommodate the games that you can download so quickly and it reminds a little bit of like when Napster opened up peer to peer file sharing and the on the big companies had you know it took them a while to be able to figure out how to respond with things like Spotify Pandora and things like that. How do you see the market shaping out in the future with regard to mobile gaming and premium and premium downloads and like the price is a very the drop and drop like to get a game a one dollar would be worth more than getting thirty million people download it for a dollar. If you make the money that we’re going to follow the people. But everything that went out more like something of a million dollar but I could never and another thing in Doug’s were touch and it’s earlier. If we made Euro dollars off this game but we had five million people playing it you know it would be a tremendous success because you know whenever I create anything I always think it has to have characters that you would want. You would need to have another way that you would need to have it as a toy in your shirt. So I think we have that kind of you know that kind of game where we could take some license for now in other areas you could easily see it become a cartoon show or comics. It’s kind of it kind of limitless want to get going. So if we’re getting it for free for a while and tons and tons of people are playing and have a great time you know the amazing thing and we would still make a little bit off a killing pop up and not an annoying way so that’s just my two cents extra on that. Only that there’s a lot to work with him who already but though a lot more than we have been working on it for a long or three three years off and on and on I know I’ve had the characters like OK you know if he gets shot with character. Yes And you know I’d give the three of them I would to a map the characters and texture them. Gus would do a hand painted a water color and I would wrap that around the three D. character so cal characters are basically hand painted watercolours what the textures are and then do all the animations and all that fun stuff so yeah it’s been about an hour weeks for my partners and my three years anime characters and backgrounds and everything. Oh yeah yeah clear of the point where something that you show or you know look like the me the main thing you want to play balance going to be that we need to make good on I mean you can have all the cool on the plate and not very well but then there’s a bunch of boring stuff like putting up more of the theory. Or if there was a lot of the ball in the goal so what if you guys learned like if you if you met yourself from three years ago you know one where would you like to strangle yourselves and say do not make this decision when we got to ask you Do you want to make a fighting like you no way to know when we when we talked about him and he was like I don’t think fighting a man like you have to call you know but I know we can you know it was a pretty ambitious I didn’t realize how much work would go into it excessive you know. A full time job it’s you know you you work eight hours you come home and you step or two in the morning you know flopping around on the floor because you want to fuel a giant rabbit would look like getting up off the ground. I think that’s like you know my wife has a wife handle that if you like to see more of me I don’t know where it went kind of crunch time we’re we’re kind of trying to you know bust out the characters and get everything and you know that you know I don’t fear that and I kind of come home and go on the puter. So it’s kind of so I thought that you know yes it’s more about how that balance you know work home and then life kind of thing and it is definitely is a balance. So trying to find balance and it’s funny it’s almost like recursive balance issues right. Like to make the game balance make life balance make everything else. Yeah. That holds every single conversation we have on this it always goes back to that spinning plates routine. Yeah like the standard. Comics at the spelling play it’s freaking musician said you know I was the one that doesn’t get the attention so when they all fall over. But are there any projects other projects on Kickstarter that you guys are just fans of just as he has been too busy to even look I know I backed boardgame Kickstarter but yeah we back some games and stuff but externally replaced me you know I think creative everything goes in either good or not but it’s pretty meeting place. All in all in and see how much content is on there and always new stuff coming out constantly. So they’re streaming So what’s your estimate. A release date. Well I think right now we only put down quarter of the year over not quite yet. They can depend on the already thing unlike other like video game or whatever like Well basically that the go with everything and do it when it’s ready will really hopefully not going to be like a Duke Nukem Forever and never really we were constantly moving forward and if they are it’s not there yet and I’m really hoping to get it before the end of the year but yeah the Kickstarter pays out against taking any work I had inserted just in the same time. Now but it worked better among them that is going to cost involved with Boeing and I’m up early with a moment of the whole like you know it but you know how important is it for you guys to release before Christmas. I mean it’s tremendously important personally but we when we would release it before just to get it out like he did it you know you’re comparing it to the worst game of all time. We’re going to talk a little know anything yourself and see me online. Yeah I don’t think you’re hearing them quite accurately what he’s saying is they won’t be tied directly to a deliverable tie. I’m schedule thus creating the worst Mikey T. did OK and they can eat he remained. You do need to do need to remake but don’t license all movie just use all your characters in the same game mechanisms before the game made no sense Max you fall into pits and then you jump around and a guy thought follows you around and eventually all three back into a pin to look perfect when they all go rag doll style and flop out you know. Plus E.T.F. neck was like for some reason it would extend like one hundred vertebrae and then somehow that made him float which I do not believe was in the movie at all that works perfectly for the fantasy sort of horror nightmares so why was he not floating on a bicycle with a boy a light flying with them because they release before Christmas. TEXEL. OK not the kind of game you just bury in the desert until archaeologists come to take bring it back and say What a strange time this came from. Now actually do you know the joke there. Yes they actually buried in the desert maybe around twenty thirteen. Yes archaeologists want to claim that it was and it was a New Mexico are working the Internet of it right now. Yeah there is there’s a movie about anger video game nerd also about that. Yeah OK here’s a question are the multiplayer servers going for the mole players are the steam players will be able to play the mobile against each other. Ultimately do you think. No I don’t I don’t like the way I thought of that and I could probably figure a way to make it over I’m not clear that they are going to be fairly different but like it’s going to consist of how unbalanced it is between having like a touch input versus a conventional one. Yet even with that there might be a really bad. For one side or the other I don’t know I think to be a worthwhile experiment at the minimum. Yeah well you know you know well I am first person shooters when you have people with that mouse chimes like facing off against people who are attempting to use a controller and it’s I mean it’s like should be in a barrel the people and controllers can’t keep up I assume the same would be true like the people controllers just be pounding people trying to use a mobile phone. Microsoft did build a cross-platform multiplayer for P.C. and X. Box games and they had to can it immediately because there wasn’t any contest it was all P.C. it was all P.C. It’s not a complete murder. Asked it and I don’t know what text twenty times more powerful. Yeah it was that I was I was I thinking that but that feels like a god solution somehow. Well maybe combos are easy to do it’s like a touch with like your hands and multi-sensory them with the controller with just your thumbs if you have to use every finger as an employee then just like switching on if you like for half circle back towards all three seconds and then covered in Plants vs white so you know what it is that the solution is on domino down could you just dumb it down a mobile to the point where it’s like trivial inputs and then that would be like even itself out of Marvel Super move by having both shorter buttons a motorist kept on to not cheating if you’re playing with people who’ve never played before. I mean you gotta make it fun for that otherwise you’re just going to be tough because they want to play the game. Yeah well you know it’s more like in the mobile for multiplayer you know what I mean what you leveled a character so if you’re like a level fifteen Mr Right when you match up to play against Iran person then what will match up with someone that’s close to you. Well so you want to have to play you know a level three thousand windows when you only have a level two crumbled with it. So that’s one way that will bounce multiplayer if you were in like holding a tournament like a nationwide time for this sort of thing. How do you balance out like I’m bringing a level ninety nine Mr fright versus someone else suits just like preternaturally good at the game but only managed to build a character up to like level fifteen. I would do like a way a class like you know you know how he does wrestling weight class. I’d almost feel like that were like level ninety nine through you know one fifty here and maybe you had them all at the end but they just get there you’re going to be injured belt for like a lightweight like you under forty or whatever I think or you do away with those who are not your characters that you play were always like level ten. If I turn them rotate into that make a little point but they’re not yet the the who want to be a huge thing and this becomes your latest problem organizing the social reaction to it all. What would be the next pope would be another fighting game or characters. New features we’re going to venture scam an R.P.G. with all the same characters in your head what’s the fantasy. Next up we’re going to take that on. I mean you know if I if I had more I would love to make them go in with you but yet we did it with like when you say R.P.G. sectionally are you talking like a like Legend of Zelda two. Maybe not quite like that anymore though. Like something in the night. You’re probably like really really cool if I mean to do something without looking like a like a brawl or like Match bowlers or something might be fun. Oh yeah and that’s why the more usable next to be like me. For me it’s growing in this first game. You know that we should add more characters to get successful and once we feel that we’ve done everything for this first game we would probably decide on either jumping to part two. We’re taking not really a break but having fun putting our focus to a different kind of game just to be refreshing. And then after that fun refreshing game jump in that’s right Joe Carter Part two that kind of thing I think. I’m guessing around that kind of the pending like even if we’re just working on fighting games fighting games and like you know Part two I don’t know if we want like a little fun game in between is just to get away from it a little bit. So I guess we’re all flatten out and all that and I’m out. Do you know of course you know what you brought up there is kind of an interesting phenomena when you look at Mario one verse Mario to the doki doki panic they’re totally different games. Castlevania one versus Simon’s Quest. Remarkably different games and the same holds true for a lot of different franchises. Do you think that maybe behind the scenes and Tendo Konami and all them they just said Screw I can’t take the same crap anymore. I mean. Either he said and it’s fun it is but we’ll see what you can do you create creatively you know where can you go next and keep it exciting for everybody because you know the first in the first game and you don’t want to make the second game the first game like it’s going to move him moving in all the same jokes or in the sequel the kind of pissing you off in a way that everyone hates the sequel sounds like number three is talk talk and more Batman Begins a Dark Knight that evolution well anyway so it’s been like an hour. Kind of other questions but none and I’ve got one suggestion. Here’s your sequel. Are you ready for this. This is totally free advice you can take this and you can even like steal the idea. All right. Same game will Rule thirty four on all the characters. She’s dressed well I was going to just wait they’ll be after virtual reality comes out to just wait for that entire fiasco. Oh yeah I do know what you can find is a very unique niche market that is going to absolutely gobble it up. Nobody else is serving that market I think it’s wide open gentleman. Well and sort of instead of diving down the rabbit hole of Tim Burton style fetishes. I’ll just say let’s look for the conversation guys was glad I was held up with the audio trolls and just general things and I wish you the blackest of luck I can’t wait to try beta the stuff and yeah make sure to stay in touch with us on Facebook or I will be happy to do a check. That’s your game as soon as everyone’s ready to fly it is really good many guys if you aren’t allowed to play at a certain anybody. Yeah well I mean if you if you made it of course it was sold.
