Well good evening Internet Viva Comcastro. Viva la revolution. My name is Max Groves I’m introducing I want with Carlos Rodriguez Carlos is a comedian Sacramento harshness because of modern challenges stand up artists particularly the changing culture of social media issues on you know the unthinkable creating the like of them on a large collection of everything we can’t say a comedy stage will be triggered. You have the award letter. Sometimes I am a comic that I could do an hour clean and I can do an hour dirty I had let the winning is like now it’s headlining the I mean I have the time to headline and you don’t have a T.V. critic and that but when the going gets you up most places at most most clubs. So in order for me to get up I have to produce the shows that I’m on and then also e-mailing comedy clubs and getting in that way like operating at those like I have been fortunate enough to get into like some improv and out of state comedy clubs just based on the merit and stand up but I do have so I’m pretty fortunate to be funny enough to bypass the T.V. credit part. So is that T.V. credit the reason I see somebody some comedian coming up there or like as seen on some obscure show for like the one nine hundred ninety three that no one ever really liked was on the first time. Yeah yeah that is yeah you know like that just because like you know cable television channel on on bygone thing like that is the gist of what is that show they were good at that are also like another thing too right now that is big that are getting dates or are people that are fine and no. Yeah yeah it’s ridiculous right. Then you get like a million followers. Million followers and they get a comedy club. They’ll use it like a one nighter but they flat pack it out but they’re just not funny because it’s like they have to this isn’t five second. Well imagine imagine an hour long show a sequence of five second jokes. They didn’t have that on they have a whole or you to their compilations of way no I mean live. Yes So it’s like it’s a horrible show I’ve been to one and there are there are terrible acts like the return of the of the one liner and I like the way comedy was back in the fifty’s a little bit I think it’s more like we’re all companies come in and like now I also like I just think Ultimate is doing the one liner thing now but I think I don’t know what’s coming up next this is a resurgence of stand up because people a lot of people like it a lot more want to try to do it and you know You Tube has gotten out there then people are like if they if they snatch your ears fed and sometimes all animated and then you get blown up that way somehow it just I just I see a lot of things coming up for standup now like Netflix is really talking about too as well. Well it sounds like from the way you describe it like writing jokes sums to be a minority if your job now isn’t it’s crazy it’s ridiculous. I don’t like that idea that I’m not you know it’s not just being funny anymore it’s being a good business person a good strategist marketing and all that other bullshit I don’t like I hate it to be honest or something new to take him out right. Yeah do you want Definitely do you was a product is not good enough to just be awesome. Yeah and then you got all I can think you have on every social media aspect it’s like Twitter followers you know because that’s another comedy clubs look at that look at your Twitter followers of your followers are now you got periscope big now and it’s just like they want to say I’m sorry. What Spurs go there scope is now to ask for thank you can live stream what you’re doing right then and now. So you just you go on Twitter you say hey I’m live streaming in a minute and there’s an app and you just turn it on and boom you’re testable and people all have the app they can just watch your your live feed like how you doing your part asked you to be like yeah I couldn’t do that like that now. Let’s play video game videos but for life right. Yeah it’s crazy man and I just it’s tiring just like they have on the computer and try to like get all of the followers you can because I got to come because a look at your camera what they call it like kind of your internet presence is another thing that they say to if you’re in a presence like. So basically saying I mean both of you have your breach. What it is tiring because like I just like being funny hat is like talking shit and bullshit ball in the pocket of my cell right now I’m just talking about the I face right now. All right well an X.-Man the follow up about periscope look at is that every act is just dating social media these days right. Just about I mean I think I don’t know I think the older generation embrace that I got caught in the middle of it you know like the old school and then the new school of thought of of doing stand up. We’re going to little kids who are older than the Internet. Yeah that’s one of my bits I was like I was like I’m the last generation to be born analog make a smooth transition to digital. Yeah I was like when I was a high school the Internet came out hours prison time. Yeah it’s like it’s crazy and it’s like this whole big thing about how technology is just me. Such a vast advance the last thing it’s crazy mad. I’ve been excited I’ve been saying if you like a lot. I only started up like the first minute the now to look at the nice and minute but then I want to I want to put it down some are a true man and I’ve been I would think about doing a D.V.D. lately some of the some of the so like streaming ones like the five dollars bucks. Yeah and if I don’t spot or like even felt like I said now it’s just about exposure you know I got money. Because to be honest like I really don’t want to get famous I just want to go the comic of the work on because I don’t wanna go to an office I don’t want to go to a desk job I don’t going to data such as Michael do you see any democracy in the social media I think I don’t know that the people that I pay attention to that I like are our guys that actually broke late because well they didn’t break a leg they broke faintly but they were they’ve been in the game for so long. Like Bill Burton aka Louis C.K. even even a Dave Chappelle like when he dropped on him softly I think he was in his thirty’s was meant thirty’s so you have guys that were doing the stand for fifteen seventeen years and then finally just broken people think that they’re just overnight so it’s like it takes a while for the cream to rise to the top but you get a lot of shit. So L.A. out there like like they’re breaking away thirty three year old. No Well I mean kibble as opposed to like what people are breaking through like now. No I’m actually from Sacramento on topic or you get it so it’s like I don’t know man. Yeah that’s what they want down in L.A. They want that young so young to me like I sort of stand up I was sixteen but I stopped when I was twenty because because I’m not sure to talk about I have no life experience at all. So I went on I listen life and I got back into it about twenty six twenty seven years old and I’ve been doing some thirty three now but it’s like it’s it’s crazy because like you need a little life in order and have some experience in order I think. But I said nothing to like I knows about the way they all treat Stan it does like an entry level position in the entertainment industry. Go on stage do some data entry. Yeah. Yeah well it’s like because it’s like they’re like oh you know if you’re a comic like oh what you really want to be and it’s like I just really want to be a comic book or you don’t want to an actor you want to write you don’t want to you know be on S N L It’s like I really want to go to comedy clubs on the road and eat that food and a waitress I don’t like it. And out of the one nine hundred seventy. That’s fascinating to me that anyone would ever care about their age when you’re in stand up. But it is that what you’re talking about with maturity and wisdom you know fueling the content of what you’re talking about you know that resonates across industries. I mean would you want to be treated by a twenty eight year old doctor do you want a thirty twenty seven year old lawyer to be defending you on murder charges. No you want someone who’s like in their forty’s and fifty’s and like whenever you talk about build her Louis C.K. you’re talking about men who’ve lived a lot a life and have a lot of really interesting perspectives on this shit that resonates with everyone. Yeah I like it too. Yeah I don’t like the fact that if you want like you know. Oh I think it’s like I said the interlopers ition in L.A. So there’s like all these younger comics will be buying it. They’re actually just going to be on camera and they want to be in a movie and that’s where they’re looking for young and youth and packaged good nice and wholesome and let’s put it out there because to be honest Comedy Central that’s all it is it’s a bunch of shit. I don’t know if you watched it lately. Well there’s Key and Peele So I think they’re doing a pretty good modern take on like what the sketch comedy stuff Daily Show it’s still funny but don’t embellish the difference so I was right and it’s going to Central. Yeah but it’s history it’s an entity or a zone thing but like I guess King of Hell we have like everything else like The Comedy Central special that they got their stuff yeah yeah yeah yeah ever stand up stuff it’s like spinach that isn’t very good. I mean like you did. I mean when I mean when I when I first started watching when I was younger it was just I was like Eddie Murphy in a day’s play and it was like who also really like but I like George Carlin and like that caliber of comedy there’s nothing like it’s around anymore. So watered down you know. Or is like is is there new value or people more fixated on just the idea of your face being out there as opposed to being anything behind it. Yeah I think so I think that’s a big big issue is that it’s not it’s not of substance anymore. Well the fact that you are openly talking about competing with vine kids gives me a bad feeling about L.A. comedy in general so I think we’ll just stick to the York stuff. Yeah yeah I like I like your comedy way better because it’s like it’s a lot of buzz than others a lot of talk and it’s a lot of like you know you have thick skin you know and it’s really like the whose balls are to be posted or I know whose body busted Yeah and the publican who’s was an asshole comes and that’s all I don’t even think I don’t know man I don’t I don’t really try to think like who I am but not a fan of really much question because if I’m not a fan I really don’t much mind now exist but is a better insult right. It’s like someone goes I don’t like you. I don’t think about you would know. Yeah yeah yeah I know clocks about oh shit I mean can we can I’m sorry I’m confident I don’t worry about men. OK GOLDMAN So who do you love. But yeah no I haven’t. Well if you’re not full of hate the US and then are you full of love is there someone out there that who you think you know really like shaping the industry. Oh I mean like all the people that I like though that I would do is to get to get more clay or like Joey D. is right sure a funny guy named Mike Page. Karl above one of the original. I love the comedy and group. There’s also like I said already I like Bill Burton a lot. I’m a big fan of the guy who was killed when he cracks me up because I listened to the to the to the crab feast Brainsick learnt a lot of Snow’s pretty funny which I think it was really good that I really enjoyed it too. Are Here grandparents from then spawns Wild West a comedy tour. There was a documentary back in the daylight because of a couple. OK I got big fans of you guys into man. I used to be into things now I’m into making this podcast of what life is now. I mean generally speaking I mean I know Max Max and I’ve gone to see stand up live and we saw Lucy K. Not too long ago and I’ve and I was raised in the family that watched every single stand up special we could Showtime H.B.O. comedy central. I mean I’ve I’ve seen I’ve seen a lot. I was in LA I’ve been in a lot of live comedy on L.A. and I’ve been a lot of live comedy on New York. They are different crowds. I felt like the Delhi experience was it was a fun time just sitting down and then having like four hours of. We’re trying to make you laugh like that’s the best date night out or I don’t understand how that’s not like a routine thing for couples to do it at all. I mean for couples it’s but it has been a comic and that’s that’s all we see it is always I’m not like all comics not everybody it’s like no it’s a couple thing. Usually couples come out and watch stand up and then if it’s not that it’s like a whole bunch of girls at a bachelorette party or a group that they’re going to go what they want comedy then they go drinking and they all and they never let you take one and when the girls are in the pack they never let one go they never once because when you’re when you’re isolated in the wild as a girl there’s nothing but hounds descending upon you know. Yeah but still though you like the bachelor party like the biggest curse of any like public event. Like if you’re a waitress or server excuse me or if you’re hosting it all like there is a crowd consciousness that you will not reach its like they decide their thing. Yeah they’re yeah there they want that they want all the attention they like I deserve it. I’m you know it’s my day like no your day then birthday parties go over their bodies to horrible because they don’t like they’re all the way to Mexico and you can actually think and over again you know this is a new thing to birthday month right. Like I had that I could see delaying to the weekend That’s cool right. But we got jobs but asking everyone to organize their whole fucking month around your purse your ego needs it right. Yeah I mean like it’s routine. I mean like when my girlfriend’s birthday comes around I but they know that this is different though. I actually structure the Friday Saturday and Sunday all to be about her because I’m the boyfriend and I basically tell everyone else like OK here’s what’s going on. It’s birthday weekend. Well yeah yeah you know where there are much different responsibilities from boyfriend duty to stand up comedian duty on the piano. It’s a big deal because I honestly don’t give a shit about my birthday except you know suddenly it’s the most important thing for these girls right. Like yeah I like it when you like you said your boyfriend and so you do hear that but we can’t you know and that’s go I think that that’s that’s pretty much like when someone’s with someone that we can it’s fine but I think when girls are single They’re like oh we have to do the whole month because I need someone know what I or something like that you know I mean the more the attention so they’re going to go go all out of the law to do that if you like people treating being single like it’s a character flaw these days I don’t think Yeah these days I think that’s always been a source of anxiety for that one source of anxiety for just people and especially women in their thirty’s but just people in general I feel like the products we have these days are like fixated on this in order like I don’t know masks shame or put it aside and it is not you know I mean I mean I think I have and I think I think I think the empowerment of it in trying to own it is kind of new. I think that’s kind of lame lame I think it’s like just don’t even tell your knowledge you know it’s like I hate so many mean about how great it is to be single or you know owning in only like like no one can. And all this it is they can have me in my work to give me a bit. Yeah. But by God just being normal is it just to stay manic forever and deal with the consequence or not deal with the consequences and just let society deal with it and I mean it’s OK to be single but it’s like it’s like your own everything right now. Things like I don’t know if you just don’t really pay attention to things that society really constantly want to be in to to to grasp on to like the whole single idea or you know it all. All talk in you know like you said to about the age of being older and you were scared about getting older and seeing comedy and that’s why I like comedy because it doesn’t really matter what age or even it’s like you can pop whenever an M.P. great like Dangerfield pop likely was fifty’s and shit. You know it’s like it’s time you know my age but I know there’s a lot of people especially in L.A. that are bucking deadly aging and being single and like and all kinds of other problems or is that makes you believe and that’s unhealthy. LS such a health conscious society just not psychologically right that’s a that’s a good point it’s a really a point like that. Yeah I don’t I don’t really want to go away it’s like I build a stand up but do what I need to do it and I get out as soon as possible I’d like I was telling somebody at the northern California like just know that we farm and then we just go down there and we just all the power that we just take them and you know some just farming jokes work in the mouth. Welcome to my fruit stand. Have a microphone please make sure yeah yeah I like everyone told me on Twitter. But you know a sign of only just mentioned that I always feel like everyone’s afraid of aging. You did not say. I don’t afraid of death. Frankly it’s crazy you know like I don’t think people I don’t even think people are afraid of death. I think they’re just afraid of looking at their lives and seeing what it was you know not to bring it that far down. Different subject when you’re talking about competing with vine comics like I was just suddenly thinking in my head like how do you like how does imagine Christopher Nolan I’m fine right. Like putting the entire momento movie but only in five seconds. Lupul segments that you like scroll down someone’s feeling that the entire plot of that someone’s talent have you seen it and when actually turn vine into art get I think. Not that I know of no I mean I really miss I really I’m not really on it’s not because like as I’ll go scrolling through and looking at it for a while like I realized that it was a whole bunch of like year one comic job. Like the premise that people just acting out these hack ideas that I’ve already seen in the ninety’s. Do this in a perfect role as oh vine it’s like you don’t have to think too hard about it the payoff is a media you just chuckle and move on to the next one. Yeah nothing’s confrontational nothing’s in your face it’s just about that inflict it on T.V. culture and to use it just yeah just like a whole bunch of Florida you know it like a lot of you are getting the watch You Tube if it’s like a minute twenty people are now watching this you can click your trip to long. There is something to be said about how terrible people are at formatting their You Tube videos now. OK So like the so much sort of someone proposed a constant saying all You Tube video should be started at one third of the way through because the first third of the video was always going to be them just talking about nonsense about the video. There’s even a said that there’s even a setting in You Tube where like they’ve named it after his user names like the Wadsworth constant so if you put ampersand Wadsworth equals one into You Tube U.R.L. It starts right a third every time. Oh yeah yeah. Like PAC and sneers nerds man when they pick up something on the forums they are like yes trying to get out there and then I yeah I definitely like I don’t really do writing about it because I like to think it’s star or even Lycos and You Tube videos like I only do a couple of the stand up and I try to do it is that the best part you know I don’t you know work warm it up but that is usually like when I do stand up the first fifteen minutes is it me just having a good time and fucking around and it’s all just related to what’s happening right now in the present and then after that I’ll start you know if I can all intertwined material it’s not I’ll just keep going. I’m going around you know it’s going to fun. I like it I think I like to do it. It’s just odd and I don’t want that to stop and I think when when it gets too much business I think that’s when I don’t want to do it anymore you know. Wellington approves you know like just feeling the energy of the place you know becoming part of that as opposed to just rehearsing a joke to reproduce which time right. Yeah you know get me bored if I can so if you do it because I get bored easily and so and then another and another that I’m really going to really try to focus on what we’re talking about and you’re an A.T.V. guy doesn’t like it because of who’s on it like it’s just a horrible it’s not intervening You know and so it’s like even though I’d like to be in going to a different five second clip every time it’s still horrible over and over and over again it’s like being in the cellar wearing socks when the worst situation possible. You’re costly distractive everything you see isn’t funny. Yeah yeah oh my god I’m dying a thousand deaths are because of her Watch the lines are not that you know like you said to competing with them on a comedy club it’s really it’s I can’t wait for it to go away kind of like you know because I feel that it’s just one of those bad or it’s like comedy clubs and producers are going to catch on that. Oh you guys may well then again if you’re going to ask that all people are looking at making money but I have this thing. So when I produce shows when I produce comedy shows what I’ve done now specifically in the areas that I’m in the places that I have the rooms and then you have I’ve gotten just good comedy. I’ve gotten good comics that are that are hungry and they are funny and then I know that or work well with each other and I put on a good show because all the time always good people come up and they’re like they say one or two things they say want to go and it’s like it’s either I’ve never been to a comedy show. This was so much fun of Arc This is I went to a comic show once before. It’s like a couple years back and it was so bad and so we haven’t been back yet so you gotta get that creepy customer so you gotta put a good product and I think I think after a while like that bind it’s going to go through that where people are stopped coming because they really like Oh this Colombine I’ve been to one of these before they’re not very good and it was a long shot. We recently had a guest on our shows talking about how if you put shit comedy on stage it’s Fox everyone else because they’re really yeah aren’t that many people who love stand up and all of that crowd that that’s your total universe people who love stand up. How many of them are going to go see you when any given Friday night manager that oh you’re giving a first impression is time but yeah so if some people go out there I mean let’s just take a couple example you know she loves he’s never been before she rolls the dice on SOME NO SOME NO NAME guy. Thanks for coming back that you just fucked up and like you just lost you know what kind of a long term potential customer. So when you say stuff like they’re putting I don’t even get how the hell vine is ever put on stage but when you see that it’s not just ruining like people around me and distributing food which is very you know we’re showing up you know like we’re going to million blind followers ten thousand L.A. five thousand showrooms for one hundred sure yet to hear better. Yeah they are and it is it is yeah you’re right it definitely going out and going to come because they’re associated with comedy and the respect that’s going to don’t like it. People associate a lot of bad things which stand out because of you know who does it or who tries it out and then when they’re not good at it because like there’s a big difference between you know someone that’s that does stand up and that someone is a professional you know at it some of the season you know been on the road or whatnot because I had this conversation with them on stage and I was telling a joke and I don’t. There’s a gay jokes but the joke was it was it was progress and everyone laughed and this lady looked at the lady and she whispered in the ear and I was like what’s going on over here and she said we’re going to you’re not like this is live I can see you do things and she goes I was asking her if she’s OK with what you said and I go Of course she’s OK with what I said she laughed really hard. That telltale sign lady and she was like well because she’s gay and I was like but the joke wasn’t about it wasn’t bad it was in a bad joke it was and then and then she was like I’m just saying and I was like no is likely this is what I don’t like and I was like and I kind of explained that I wasn’t bad and I was like I go as tell you about how you know this P.C. world is taking away our observation and replaced it with judgment just because what we’re saying is just a cottage and it’s like knowledge is just observing what I see and this is kind of funny because if you look at this angle and I go and I was telling about how people think that the word that like I like right now like I’m I was like I’m professionals like I’m telling you what’s happening I’m stopping all show but I’m not being mean and being angry and as I can there are people that don’t know how to do this because they have been on the road like Michael Richards and I go people don’t understand that those guys people associate with all comics so that like I was like you think Will Ferrell’s a comedian and then they were like Yeah I don’t he’s not as a comedic actor. I go along with Michael Richards. If they don’t have a script in front of them or you know someone to bounce off of then they did they did they lose their fuckin mind they don’t know how to be a stand up comic you know from heaven that sounded like the nicest way to explain the joke to somebody. Kind of explain the job. Oh I’m sorry to hear let’s go through the logical sequence and some the dissonance that makes everyone laugh you know. Yeah what like yeah like how things are made funny you know like like you know this is this is what. This is what it is in the let’s break it down like a fraction and I’ll tell you but yet was it was really crazy though and you know I just it just bothers me to men because like everyone’s got their cameras in there ready to be part of the story and ready to be on a blog or what it’s like to get there for five minutes and so I feel like we did something. Yeah and then like yeah and it’s like get on top and just do it and so I went off on again. And so the shows for the tangents as you go. Tirade or I’m sorry not to be like what you were mentioning though it is interesting to me because it feels like even something that’s conscious that races exist for gays you know just to make sure not to generalize but just an observation like it seems to jump immediately to let’s just say people’s triggers you know unlike the joke was this is a joke it was like I go I’m not gay but I like going to gay bars because I like compliments. And then she was like Are you OK I like that it’s not offensive. So in other countries it’s like finally someone give me a comment just as in those that look at the man. But it’s like I like it. So not even a justice just a nice statement I have actually said that exact thing. Yeah dude I have a friend L.A. you know like when I moved out there for a while the only guy I knew out there was from the school and just so happened he found out that he was gay some point along the way anyway and we were going out and yeah I mean I quickly found out what it’s like to have people hit on you and buy you drinks are going to make you get used to this. Yeah I go into that like it’s like you think this is kind and I would you had been up there while I like them too there are crap and you’re like OK I know that that is it is fuckin weird. It is what we are going to do go catch the hand here just like look man I don’t want to hurt you. On Stage two creepy guy most like step one if I can drink for you like OK I could handle this stage two that’s like OK it’s getting a little pushy stage three is getting random pics on Snap Chat and you’re like I don’t want to get me out of the club or I finally understand what you’re putting up with ladies. So. Oh my God I got to I got to get out of here. Oh well I mean you’re not taking no for an answer like I said I don’t want to hurt the guys feelings or anything but but no this is not what I want I should a search party at the same time place let’s just have a drink let’s you know nothing else. It’ll be fine just that like No means No but you know that’s a very interesting there and be like I shouldn’t say that he raped me I mean it’s not that I said no but I don’t want to for if I did know that so it’s not yeah but that’s funny but it is the world reversed that when he was a straight up whatever and people crazy about it they just are going to be talking about I had a few if any of the great two and then even with the word like it just doesn’t work like that shut down. Like I had a joke about about Morgan Freeman and the rape scene and such a production and it said the word rape it just like didn’t just quiet down I was like but I’ll talk about prison rape that’s Larry it’s the reason it’s going to pass over when I was ever freaked out from a male being raped that you know because it’s like there’s this thing about trigger warning like you can’t even say the word rape. Yeah. OK whatever the the the language police have come back they were begin to eighty’s there’s like political correctness and I can’t believe my mind is maybe like hey our way to not going away for a while and now it’s return in the form of trigger warning. We need to bring back P.C. you to task on even a I’ve really enjoyed a trigger warning is right there. It’s great if you can. Oh I’m over there taking OK so then you can’t be on the set up now are. Oh you came as a fag all that much you can’t even like special you know I’ve been lying there on here that they want to hear fact you don’t want to even describe someone’s physical state of being you can’t you can’t see a back room you can’t say Factor Oh that’s L.A. yeah it’s like they’re like oh that’s mean that’s fat shaming everything seeming like you know what maybe we need to shame that much because a lot of the buggers don’t have any shame. Well you’re shaming anyone is that they’re being reminded of their own personal shame of the need to get the fuck over right. When you deal with or live in a world of legs let’s not talk about it so it doesn’t make this type of bullshit. Well I mean is this a reaction from a when we were growing up. I mean all of us are you know around the same age when we were in elementary school it was you know everyone gets a trophy everyone feels good about themselves are all unique snowflakes which is not our parents were raised who internalizing the criticism of our generation though I’m asking is is this hypersensitivity a function of everyone being told they’re all special and unique people. I mean like riding a bike that’s why I had done this way I think you know like I we didn’t I didn’t if you didn’t get you to get shit I was like you know it’s like I think up but on Twitter not like the last or the rotten egg and now begin the work of participating in Oh and it’s just ridiculous and I don’t give a shit about all that noise. No the thing about two it’s like you said about the part of our arm I meant the hope it’s a vocational muster. Oh it’s called a cupcake nation or something I can’t remember there are some sensitivity to everything is. I think it came after like a like me because I’m thirty three and I came I can be like five years later to where I was like you know but it lets everyone be special. Like now are special Some of us aren’t going to make it you know in my mouth all it’s like I mean it’s only because like like I guess I’m getting the age where it’s like I’m not like because I don’t have any kids and I don’t have anything that we should be like so I’m like I’m that I’m a huge child adult golden like you know like I’m still in a good school like everything is golden and it’s just a living is my mentality it’s changing. Fewer fewer facts to give right. If your folks are good but also like I can you know you can see the change in a lot of stuff and a lot of like I’m not old but I’m not I’m not I’m not like old like are back in my day porno before the magination. I’m not that old but it was we had magazine and we had victoriously. But you know what I’m getting I’m getting to the age where it’s like like he said I went out on thirty three again because I’m not old but I’m not young either. So it’s like it’s a weird spot. It’s like I guess we’re twenty three used to be known I mean personally when our You got twenty nine For me thirty for Matthew. OK. So yeah you know what if it was a new hit when you hit thirty three it’s huge it’s because it’s a huge difference. It’s like I don’t then how to explain it to her. Carlos now I’m just like it’s crazy like it’s I’m not super older you know but it’s like something just changes where where you want to sleep a lot and you want to know what I was like I was telling them is that it doesn’t work as a woman to work that out. But I’ll talk about how like I’m going to that age where. Or if everyone’s out we’re all out hanging out partying I’m that guy and I’m at that age where it’s like I’m that guy where I want to go home but I don’t want to let everybody know that I want to go home you know saw start survey and all my buddies and try to like you know find the weakest link and a lot of to find an online game in which you go to work tomorrow. Do you like them all to the party trying to like so that’s higher actually evening like. Let’s bring down the confidence in the group and is this really like a big thing here like neck and neck like a freaking eighty’s CIA spy movie. So we’re trying to keep the party going so much and to bring it down yet of the land is Birdman. Like I’m tired at the clubs and bars all forming and when you don’t have to be in them and you don’t want to be in the mood yeah it’s your office. Yeah I don’t want to go to the club for free all the time I might go now for twenty five bucks to go sit around and watch we would join our comics around like we’ve heard from a few people who think in some sectors of the culture’s toxic some people think it’s amazing in accepting what you thought and my thoughts and just see it toxic or that they weren’t expecting it to comedians and it’s kind of some people think tracks like alcoholics depression and it’s weirdly composed in that way. Oh yeah. Covered up all like and so I didn’t they were an addict so I guess they were everything just depends on what your choices are to make I mean like I was I was already an alcoholic an addict with or even gotten back in the stand at twenty six so I just needed to clear that up and I stood in as I stayed a good circle man or I try to keep it I keep it fun and keep it like I said I want to have fun with it. Right I’m a motion to be on stage or have fun or talk shit and have good memories. I don’t really tend to like want to be in a position where you know I’m getting paid in Coke you know I’m totally seeing what you meant now by to gain some life perspective and then come back. Yeah yeah yeah I think I’ll try to go for a while of the jail and I will travel the world a little bit and then I came back and I was like oh my adult life experience. I got addicted to the travelling to a lot after a while but I got back to like I’d like to have a job everywhere I go now. So why did you go to jail. Plug it in as girls you like yeah like maleness was like yeah no no way I’m fucking I’m just talking around the riot and like Maya like right in my like person things that if you’re right it’s like you finally can write in the scenes as she was really into it and now it’s rape rooms like do that is that was a big fear that it’s still a big fear by like I want to have a growth on a waiver you know like Are you sure because you know you’re fucking you fuckin me or I you know that. Yeah like somebody else’s agent. All right I’m representing myself in this transaction of emotion and physical contact. OK. Yeah because if anything like girls have a reset but they have a do over but like if she doesn’t she realize that she fucked you because I don’t California if you have sex with a girl it’s intoxicated like you you know and you guys are both willing but other times use in talking can be rake and you can be raped and I thought that was a laugh first on that I thought I was fuckin not. Let’s get the fuck out of and I was like So I mean this you can wake up and have a regret and just want to say that I raped her. That’s like that’s my fuckin freaks me the fuck out and then I’m over here all these cases too. Man about like you know we were having sex and she changed her mind in the middle of it and she said no and once she says no then you have to stop you know you CAN’T EVEN IF YOU GIVE you get another pump in there they can see that right and I was like Are you serious. So yeah I can hear that college guess means yes law that they just passed in California what it’s the it’s the U.C.L.A. I think they spearheaded this guess means yes law which means that you have to have affirmative consent from a girl before you’re allowed to have sex and not be considered rape. Now that’s not defined anywhere in any statute and there is no there is no due process. U.C.L.A. or I guess any college in and out in California determines that some girl says that you raped her and you cannot prove that you did not rape her then you’re kicked out of college and he may have criminal action brought against you crazy and that’s why I’m like I’m good. I’d like to own our own ship of single. That’s mine too and I want to sketch while we’re talking about that. It’s like remember those one nine hundred call in lines for like phone sex bullshit. It’s like that level kind of like attitude but selling pre written legal waivers of sexual consent. You have baby nothing sexier than consent. Yeah you know if it’s over corrections like this that make the you can’t rape your wife laws sound reasonable but if there’s a guy from from Sacramento who was on it back in the late eighty’s I think you got your family got caught early eighty’s early ninety’s chance you guys can look it up. He was he was going to do in college tours and raping girls at colleges to and for the longest time they can figure it out because it’s just like it was so sporadic. Catch them and he’s been put in the pantry. But that’s why I was always fearful that shit but now I’m good I’m golden golden. That’s why you’re talking about you about Holly about being single and stuff like that is so. Like women or people are just like so scared about being single is more than shaming Zaetta It’s like they like the RIAA logical shit going on to two I think this is there’s cultures it’s all about how you’re big fan of eastern mystics like that’s all about being one with the world facing this kind of shit. Well I really think that like once a girl turns thirty that that window of having babies like it it starts to shrivel every day. Yeah that’s how I see a lot of the I don’t I don’t do proceed with the dating sites I was like man it’s a lot of dating sites now and I’m like Are you really going to find I don’t know I’m old fashioned not like I like that or happenstance or by chance like this. I clicked to five thousand people define who you are going to have to be comfortable being single with that approach. It’s funny because like I said my brother was like talking about tender right so I checked it out and the one that’s looking at this app and I’m and I just met you but I was like This is ridiculous it’s like what just it’s kind of like it’s so vain you know because you’re only looking at pictures of people and do I know what you mean but it’s like I had a weird revelation when a friend of mine she showed me the messages she would get from like OK Cupid and even tender and shit and they get so fucking bad that it makes sense that women need the right to like pre-screened who’s allowed to contact them right. Actually is a congressional benefit on their side the only problem is in terms of this crazy superficial thing right. Yeah point realize you you’re such a curator like the ideal profile that. And it’s all you do all right there’s no sense of personalities in fact a less desirable system like this. My friend who showed me tender for the very first time are running blind friend he had he to show this to me at the Georgia Tech football game he’s like you know to download his new app take this thing and you just swipe right back at you then you get to talk to him it’s all sex. I was like it’s kind of interesting. And then in the first quarter I look this I look at it and swipe it on a cell phone to the entire first quarter I was like yelling LISTEN and He will be just a previously less likely than swiping at that point for like thirty five minutes straight and then and then like like by the end of the football game he must swipe through like six hundred girls. But there’s no way around it and he got a lot of matches. Yeah six hundred times. Who could use can get married or you can assume that all men have approved all women and women have not approved all men for contact. So just yeah make that the system right and then the thing that I think for the message to the psychology of it is like so you so then these girls all these shooters and for one that kind of will blow their head up. I mean Eagle feeder and on top of that to then they start the guys that are doing that are that are on there are that percentage that you wouldn’t want to talk to Anyways the time so when you do meet a guy that’s nice or that that that approaches you you already have this idea like I’ve already looked at six hundred guys and I find it’s common knowledge here that they’re all fucked up and they’re all weird so I don’t you know I have to it’s funny now for me. Like if I want to date a girl her friends have to approve of me I have to like like I have to get a recommendation like throughout the make friends with her friends first and then be like you know what’s up with your body to do it all you’re doing earlier that you need representation in dating. But yeah. But also what you do girls will be. Like I want to do it with five guys who match perfectly my superficial needs and none of them have any to have. They play but there is no way to get deep on tender it’s a swipe left and right if they’re pretty or meet up with a little park or God. Hopefully a public place don’t be stupid about a girl going to very hard at the end of the railroad tracks and it’s strange because you know I’ve met my girlfriend and Ok Cupid which is kind of the opposite of that it’s more old school where you know you said you know five or six pictures of yourself like the most flattering light you can and then you throw a whole bunch of bullshit on air that you know no one’s going to read and then you go read her bullshit that she probably like ten percent again actually read but you can then have like real conversations it’s not just texting back and forth like a ten year like with OK keep it it’s like a real like e-mail you can send like get some idea of who they are sort of you know a little bit. It isn’t that interesting fact you have to because like sometimes girls are put on a little thing they’re like not here for hooking up but like you know hang out like the fall guy didn’t like going to go you can find love in a paragraph or I guess that people are crazy. I think you know so many people are crazy people crazy if I can be special to try to be trigger warning trigger warning are going to try don’t want everyone comes or if your friend is fearful I think that right here definitely it’s going to do because like what you’re saying in this to going to trigger words they’re trying to take off the way they’re trying to ban boss feedback. Yeah I remember that Hillary Clinton that advocated that one. Yeah and I have cycles where you know how they describe girls like intelligent awesome. Go take over the world are put down by the patriarchy because they’re described as bossy. Yeah and that’s they’re like That’s another word for just bitch and I’m like Get out of here. Like now it’s like if you’re an asshole an asshole for all I think boss the way and you can’t you can say boss he retired in a fag onstage anymore or you can say one of the bad words get a bad word that I want you can easily more and retard retard is kind of surprising because that’s still in the Social Security Administration’s definition of being slow mentally ill like you could be disabled because you’re mentally retarded. Spaniards on the other hand I kind of get why that one so I kind of joined like Fark and continent really bad ones because just like has a punch like Jesus Christ well yeah right I’m sorry I don’t know who currently at that cut is funny to me that so many people think it’s hilarious of people to get so offensive it’s just gross to say are you settle contemned Game of Thrones recently. OK So cunt is funny it’s only coming out because we lost faggot you know I guess we’re filling the void with with and if you like because that is why there are still some people out there who is a British thing you know. Yes Yes And Australians to use it all the time it’s just it’s no big deal but there are still some people in America who if you say the word can’t. It’s like you just like slit their mother’s throat or something. Yeah it’s such a big turn up to about fifteen I’ve seen people’s faces just drop like really going to go you get they’re going to go there that I thought you were bigger than that. Like you know what that sorry. Hell that’s even George Carlin’s times like this one where we don’t say that. But yeah it’s so funny that you know how do you know if you’ve been censored. Right now like saying Well if so here’s my my my gauge on when it gets to my girlfriend as I know nothing about it so I I will describe. Like when my girlfriend is like like written on her girlfriends I’ll say yeah she’s been a little country that night and that works that works like I would never I can’t I can’t say Honey I think you’re being a little country right now. That was that I would no longer have a face that she would probably rip it right off. But but I can definitely describe like instead of using the word bitchy if you just want to go to point a bitchy bitchy squared country maybe you can incorporate come to this country. I dunno like it’s not so much a conference having a little cunt ish. Actually I think it would make sense because you’d never call your girlfriend or your mother a bitch can’t do that that’s against the rules I’m not saying you’re wrong I think I agree with you I just don’t have another word not just like discovering us isn’t going along I don’t like the double standards and I call her a kind of a lesson for all Jewish and she will always find camaraderie if you can come together to hate a third party but I get it like I mean they were bashed women or dope and there I was like this I’ve been trying to work on stuff to about how like women are smarter than a lot lately because like I said well if you go back to the eighty’s I realize now in this in this old age of mine said that women are way more smarter than due to them and because they are way more calculated than us. They’re like super got guys we are not cut we resist like we do shit and then we do with it and women are like totally opposite and they do it you know to that’s the what the byproduct the the bachelor party is a byproduct of constant calculation of the evening that has evolved into the emergent phenomenon that. Seems completely without a rationale. Like a herd of its own intelligence. But each person has slowly like carefully calculated how we’re going to be able to go out kill two tronc dress up nicely screen the people we do want to talk to but find means of rejecting the rest. This forms out of this calculated process. Yeah definitely they know exactly like you can’t do that it’s like oh I’ll meet you there’s also a tritone are due to like if I get in a problem or fight my way through. Yeah that’s all we have resurrections proof you know if you’re not. If brute force isn’t working you’re just not using enough brute force and the T.V. and real caveman technology that’s actually called percussive maintenance. Because whatever whatever dude. Although it is going to be a good story though and no harm in it is a guy thing like sometimes things you just get fucked sometimes right. You’ll go to jail unfairly you’ll have to put up with something unfairly and like there’s no recourse I’m going to listen to you but you just deal with it you know and so I think I think you guys might be less calculating the guys are like. Consequences are real and we’re fine with and will still do what the fuck we want. I mean one of them can be added to my case a similar job just in single mothers like that’s a consequence like you’re stuck with it now you just gotta take action to do you can I mean I’m not saying you should this is terrible if you do but you can run. That’s nothing to do can do skip town change and you are right. Pregnancy is the one free pass men do have when it comes to fall on your shoulders and probably too often do. Fuck you man. Why did you come here man. And I heard that you don’t abandon child events. Pray before first interview or first planned interview from back then I was looking up some your stuff. Did you have like a demo for a podcast of your own. Cast. I stopped I was doing it for a while had a shoot out. It was mean of the comic. JOHN TAYLOR And then before that I was another comic too but it’s just like my co-host kept you know it was it was just it’s hard to get a podcast going and consistently because she when you’re both working comics you know you’re going to line up and so it’s like I was going to start up again with my younger brother because we’ve got little thing we could probably do together just by brothers Kaleri this to me but you’ll never get on stage but yeah I used to broadcast it and I review movies too so it’s like I would go on there and give my weekly review on everything because I see everything a big film fanatic. Well what do you think of the summer lineup so far I think standing elsewhere or that can’t be looks like women are really superficial hated him and both me and Matthew both want to attack and the villain is a yellow jacket that triggers us and then and then the heroes all U.G.A. colors so we have a very private frustration of the rest of the world maybe doesn’t share but still fucking mayhem and boycotts and yeah I know it’s like what are you doing guys. And then one of the ones that the only thing I thought I’d have to go check out Sandra’s I don’t like I enjoy the fact that it will be underwater. Learn to swim. So yeah you know for some reason like I like them with disaster movies but then after a while like now I’m just going into them just to see you know how creative they can make a mess pretty much you know. Can’t wait to watch it. Very fall again this filth around us yes watch him die. Yeah like I mean twenty twelve was horrible but you know I’m like OK let’s go on and impact are the main ones. Fox is a name like Cherry American general and Emerick and American Power. EMRICK yeah him that do everything what I watch. I just recently watched ten thousand B.C. that he made horrible. Right. Yeah did I said ten thousand B.C. me and my buddy only got free tickets to see that back and we’re both in graduate school and I we both walked out of it we just couldn’t get the stink off as fast enough. And it occurred to me immediately that whoever did the sound or the movie the score for that movie didn’t understand basic drama. So compare contrast that Halo one has this week theme we all know that it’s done that it’s not and I’m talking about like when the cello comes in it’s like it’s like rock and like halos doing its thing matches and in the last piece of the game the halo is exploding. You get an award hog jump and things you’re running over aliens to get it and in ten thousand B.C. this is taking a shit that it was like it was the most inappropriate use of the theme songs that that big hit The climax of movies like these that saber tooth tigers and I would have worked in the movie but yeah that and it wasn’t so bad I was like this. You’re right you’re right the school I don’t set to about the scores like this is a must but like this all unmatched it’s all that matters and I was like I like Who are these gorgeous people they work at the fact that they’re all chiseled out of the stone that they were brought up and girls have like for the name like super green eyes or like like on believably beautiful eyes that is actually an imagination. No that was exactly like this was ridiculous but. Yes So he makes the oh what is going to make the day after tomorrow. Were they all right. He made one of the make he made another horrible for Independence Day right which was probably his best movie was he had just about the best one and then I mean it’s hard to you know and it’s a it’s a little bit like Armageddon or it’s like OK Oh yes they have an Independence Day where install Windows on the alien mothership to make me want to take themselves seriously. I mean that is the least realistic thing that’s ever happened in film when it comes to computers and not bating that I mean if you see that scene where like the Empire State Building was like yeah. How do you write for movie reviews. What should I write for retro crash dot com And also I read for savage every bag of clothes before. Yeah. MIKE So I go on can’t I when seen entourage last night it was like This is actually this is I really enjoy this by the for the thing that we like the way I write like little little movies are called like quick slick reviews and I just I am very honest about it like this is only a paragraph and I’m like this movie is shit you know and like the rating that I usually give them like are just like how I feel about it exactly like I’m going to form a koala hippopotamus. Yeah no I’m like No no I don’t be like me like I went with that one with the doll a doll any day any doll that was in the conjuring is called down. Annabel it was we call animals scary flick but like I was like the rating I was like if you have to go the restroom you can go but you know if you’re taking probiotics your time in the bathroom will be more pleasurable than this movie. Yeah. Stocks are like oh my rating is like you go to your phone during this Arabi like this and we Sodo that you have to be old it please old or if you like if you ever run a thing that’s two contests for that Web site. Comcast was perhaps for tough questioning. I feel like of the country should be like a like a comparative short and then that’s I think also as last night I’m going to see Senate race tonight. Now how interesting because it didn’t come out yet as a not as a go until June third is again so it’s like I like it and I mean I watched the I watched the series that got me into it and it’s good but I don’t know if it’s moving. I mean to be honest it should have been there should have been the season final series finale you know picks up right off or left off and it actually ties it up the way nicer than the way it ended on T.V. just like for but oh you know I wasn’t Starfire I heard good things about it and join it just don’t want to ten times like I have coached. OK Whenever I wait to finally meet a girl who is like crazy nerdy and in love with the show and I’m like OK you know watch it again learn a few you know little lines just slide in the conversation just now and then you know like there was there was one point where she was saying she’s feeling really proud of this one like comic books are published and she was like beaming about it and I was like no power in the verse can stop you and then are beaming like doubled it was like I am and you know so like I watch the series all over again and I’m like oh I’m seeing too many flaws that I didn’t see before to just watch it was brilliant just not because I’m a I’m going to and I like these right now for the next two days I just that kind of stuff. Even some are all season one amount to now and then. I finished all flash and I finished all one of those and then the daredevil that came out on that which who knows or if I had to like the daredevil. I liked it it was it was a new you know that. Yeah but I don’t mind that I just have so by everybody the way I got a real one. I like it wasn’t it wasn’t that bad. I did have very high expectations for but I like the fact that it was really dark and gritty Matt I like the fact that it was we want to go higher inside of Marvel Comics. Yeah yeah it was very it was you know dark and blood and and you know and people are getting taken out you know getting killed all the likes I love it. I am fuckin sick of the comic book code that seems to be being reapplied of killing is our limit. That’s not what we do. Like I said in a completely appropriate for Batman to kill Joker in a lot of those stories. Oh yeah and like I find it crazy that this is like this giant lion of like an appropriate measure maybe I’ve read too much like Viking mythology or something and connecting too much of that. But when she’s a straight up kills that guy when she’s taken hostage by him I was like what I’m thinking is now should I do if they don’t let you fucking do it and then suddenly bam I’m like yeah yeah yeah. And when our son died like that like this is good luck and good. Oh yeah I like that been you know it makes all the sense in the world except for a marketing standpoint kill the Joker this way. Dammit Cameron next week it’s like I was exactly like the first I’m like when when when when when will ring killed the X.-Men three all right it was an X. and the dude walked into the. So the House and also the movie just stabbed by the chest with its first kill on a comic book movie in a row and a long time and I like this that’s what I think to storm the school and there was a lot of blood to doesn’t need to be. But you’ve still brutal and he should be that’s Wolverine and we’ll hire his Emile he’s vicious for commercial. Yeah yeah I got a murder so much shit he wiped his memory to deal with it is not like I don’t know how that happened that it was the jury in the fusion like screwed with his memories he didn’t sign up to have his memory wiped out as a side effect of having a bone graft. We’ll get one really granular with these and just saying Yeah I know all of this plea came out of that really good right now are on the move. Flash a really good even in the dark T.V. You know I did well did you watch that I don’t know I haven’t seen it yet but I mean everyone saying it’s like exceeding expectations. In fact D.C. shipwright is give up on Batman The Superman and just focus on television for a little while. Yeah OK that we’re going to make a Flash movie but then I reuse any of the story or kid from so it’s going to be this other kid that was in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Well in truth we do see is always had like more like serious depth of content or films right. And so that seems to be doing that more in T.V. now than not like fucking Breaking Bad luck in Game of Thrones you know just take that approach boyfriend tries and figure out a movie at the in the season I don’t know works well for D.C. not the way you know what. It’s really nice to see Marvel trying throw something out there that has all the more depth and that’s that that is Daredevil. That’s that’s really that’s their response I guess to all the good stuff. Yeah. If you like they try to do it with with that Marvel model black and so with that one. First movie movie came out under that label like Marvel model dark I think it was. Yeah and then but it didn’t do very well like the first during the. If you go back to watch it’s not very good. Horrible. But the I like the second one I think it is nuanced. You know the way to bring in that kind of darkness or depth or maturity like which are not all the same thing. Dark Horse not mean that you’re automatically but they’re all are they all seem to be kind of lumps in like movies on or on sorting you know as a marketing concept. Turning to you know that I really liked like I said tomorrow and don’t watch it was horrible don’t want to know about it to me like kind of cool features are going to show you a preview when it first when seeing the Avengers and the vendors to usually call you every week and five minutes of watch it don’t watch it. Yeah definitely if you want you can I don’t mind. Like I got to go to the commies do things left a lot to limit it. You know we can wrap up meant little golden. Quick question anyone ever call you see Ron over that only happen in New York. You know a couple who call me that. Yeah. OK yeah and it’s like whatever name they call me a low low so was OK.
