Good morning Internet. Viva Comcastro! People, I will tell you soon – one of the mantras we say a lot on the show is that our conversations are going to go everywhere. Well. Nowhere is that more true than here with Adam Avitable. This comedian out of Orlando Florida he out of the book interviews with dead celebrities are presently dating a stripper half his age and has an inappropriate large comic book collection. Anyways Adam’s going teaches everything from one insights in marriage and their downfalls and to how to get yourself laid by writing a blog on the Internet. And this I’m confident you guys are and enjoy this. And here is available. It is two of us. There may or may not be additional spirits. I don’t make any presumptions. Yes we spoke to one comedian who was who went and he goes timed and I was convinced from this radio device that a guy built that they could hear like secret messages from beyond. Funny story I’ve actually also gone on a ghost. No way. Yeah OK I’m this is so strange because we keep accidentally having like Bizarro occult supernatural conversations with a show like that’s not the premise but we write as well rename it to that because it has gone there every time and you can be an interesting conversation. Yeah I suppose you were part of and so what was their what’s their names. P.D.I. is what it is always I saw them a Dragon Con a couple years ago. Then she spoke with her mother spoke to her. Yeah last year. Yeah they did a great job. Yeah. Or Small world. You know I travel up to the house. We really ill sanatorium from there and there are stay there overnight. Those people if you have any activity. I did actually I actually saw I actually saw something like with my own eyes which was pretty open but skeptical. I will literally what I say I think if he can do you can hear some twenty something you know what you want to hear it’s very easy to do it’s thing but I actually I mean actual experience. So what was it like what was the situation where you guys like me are better like paint them isms and for us we were there were twenty of us were broken. It’s a five story building. We’re on the fourth floor there are five of us long hallway we were on and talking to a recorder. Well they were talking the recorder I was kind of strange but you know all it very cool no electricity the movement just going through all the windows broken windows and everything you just see just ambient light from the moon and as we’re talking all the sudden like every hair on my body sun and the shadows really kind of coalesce to do is figure out a way and started moving towards us and I said does anyone else see what I see. Saying what it was to see what any independent verification of one of the people said I see a figure walking towards us. So I started walking right towards it and we like as we approached each other eventually stopped and retreated and then I like the window got a lot of darkness as well and I want you might disappear for a couple times that retreated all my own way. It was a very very busy experience didn’t feel creepy at all it was just it was definitely something different. Whatever it was I’m suddenly imagining the shadow of Stan a spread thin coming into family’s tent. I said Yeah I don’t want to say so. So when you saw this this figure right there you know. Scared that I don’t know not although that was the issue things it wasn’t it was just I was intrigue want to work towards. See I spent the entire time walk around without a flashlight going off I don’t even have an operating room on the top floor they said that the door will slam shut on its own so they have a stopper in the door and they said make sure you don’t like tag and I say things on the other end of the floor where I was operating by myself. Took the starter of the door and come on and if you go out and then I realized you were but you’ve actually gone down stairs without realizing that I was up stairs on my own and that was the only moment where I felt it was I was like I’m now on the top four but I know it was it is too cool experience. OK What else do I need to Waverley sanatorium for my me not to go there. No you definitely should if you’re going to email them tomorrow and you can only set up the interview for this Sunday or something like live from the sanatorium. I mean we can talk to a man I want to antagonize spirit. You know ten times as you can at least experienced experience of them yourself as I’ve always enjoyed you know being skeptical about those things and saying one hundred M. of other explanations but yourself it’s like oh well no I don’t I have friends who like to think it’s completely practical for them. They’re like I can’t wait to fucking me that goes just so there’s proof you know all right. And that’s like the most important thing to him and then he at any rate on my camera. It’s like well as the guy was just a manifestation of your own fucking anxiety and grief you know it’s just this I think at some point maybe maybe fifty years from now we’ll see that it’s maybe just time reflection of some time maybe something it’s just some part of energy we don’t understand it’s not a ghost anyway it’s just something that’s the scientific explanation that hasn’t been building on what Max are saying in Hamlet. Do I could easily see that every poll are in it now. Now I’m actually I’m like you know hypothetical him too. I could easily see the ghost of Hamlet’s dad still being the same goes that haunts people because Hamlet’s fears and anxieties were so strong that it created a separate entity apart from themselves or just death of Hamlet does not kill the ghost. So perhaps perhaps these ghosts that exist right now are not actually the spirits but are just like what Max is saying just like the negative energy that just got caught up in the Senate or what the hell is a sanatorium anyway. Curiously just I went there to sit in the sun and die. So actually hospice you know basically given that we have what’s you know if there wasn’t one through the cast off you know you know what I mean I need to we need to get every social worker working in hospice in the state of Georgia every like bitter burnt out social worker who is just like God I just can’t take my job anymore and then sent him off to a haunted sanitarium be like your judge your life could be worse if I could have been doing this in the turn of this of the twentieth century. But is that is kind of the same where they’re describing the shining wasn’t like the energy left behind in the space was so profound that it continues to infect the people around the sequel I have not actually that was within the last five years you know you know you’re having syntax actually. Yeah well yeah I have heard that actually you’re not the first person says fantastic thing my brother read it he’s a huge Stephen King and he said that was just as good as the shining star of slow I wanted once. Yes I did read revival which was I think more recent that I did. Oh dude like I don’t you know I was a very big fan I’m a fan of those like in a quiet corner and horrors like the Lovecraft the post stuff and this is very much a tribute kind of to all of that energy. But bringing with him like the superior characterization that Stephen King can provide you know so in very many ways both a throwback and A Just like an offering you know it’s like let’s keep us alive let’s keep kicking them in the freaking avalanche snowball down the hill I think the scariest thing about ghosts demons Jin crypted elementals all of them I think the scariest thing about the idea of those things to me is the fact that if you accept that those things exist you’re also accepting on some level that there is like a god out there. And and he wasn’t nice enough to let these things you know the other way around. God God said do X. Y. and Z. and this entity said no thank you do not know what possible reason would I ever want to hang around something that has the power number one to say no thank you to the creator of the heavens and the earth. But then also let you know as legend has it is the are generally malevolent doesn’t want me to be around in the first place. Arwa let’s get let’s get completely off the beaten path to you but as a child I went to a small private Christian school and I standings I didn’t like the idea of eternity because I just thought of the fact that waking up every day and never know it was going to be an end to it and if I do you just ever be waking up and having things to do every day never be any end in sight. Terrified of these fears and that’s fine because if I want to watch description of like death as a concept he would post the question to children be like Imagine going to sleep forever. You know and it’s like the most peaceful kind of concept you know the sort of almost like rejuvenating submission to the energies of the earth around you you know you could go so far as to argue the question you were puzzling Matt about standing against it. Or will of God like the idea of having the opportunity to say me like as an ego as a self. Doesn’t it essentially to precisely that just like life itself as we know. Well I don’t I think there’s two ways of approaching. Well there’s probably two ways but there’s two ways I can think of approaching the answer to that question one of which is opposing the will I mean I don’t know because now I’m getting into the concept of consciousness and free will. If you believe in physics and science and chemistry and all that you have to believe that like there’s certain chemical reactions that occur every single time carbon reacts with oxygen in certain ways. But at some point along the line as we get increasingly complex with our organism somewhere the organism stops listening to the natural laws of nature and starts making its own decisions and that to me that that flip whether it’s at the bacterial level or at the chimpanzee level I don’t know I don’t care. That’s where that’s kind of where that like the decision point is like you know are you bound by the universe or you’re a master of the universe. Yeah it’s tricky. So with all this in mind so with all that in mind. Stand up comedy. Yes So I’m sorry I wish I had a chance to research your background more than spend the most frustrating week over where you do what city are used. Oh OK. I perform wherever you looked you know any cloak or Purgatory anything comedy is the year or this and yeah yeah I love it it’s something I do not yet at the point where I support myself. But it is. Let’s go. What do what is like the hustle for that because it’s just everyone we’ve spoken to like making your career as like it’s not possible to keep a family together. It’s not like possible like on something just from the constant movement which I don’t like I don’t think that’s true I’ve got I’m going to Frontier headliner doesn’t have any T.V. credits and he has two kids a house and some are only and he supports them all. Surely from Stan Kroenke is not another job he travels we have to we works locally when I can I see my floor is that you can travel and or a six hour radius and stay busy probably for six months. You’re already you know solid work. He developed a merchandise and that’s really where a lot of comedy good comedians have to make their money from something extra something so much. It’s much nicer you write or you do a little acting as well that’s something you just kind of adds to it. Do you look at comedy as like the entry point into larger things or is or I’m sorry not commenting do you look at stand up as a springboard into acting or writing or something larger or stand up kind of the main event for your career. No it’s just kind of something that I love doing now that I just once I started five years ago. Like I will always do it something I always see myself getting on stage somewhere is not something that I want to do as my career and I do want to use an I was in launching pad to probably write it will be more different projects and I’d love to just get in I mean I have been right on line for seventeen years so I don’t you know just continued up in a way that actually pays the bills. But then like for anyone to take you seriously you have to have an existing public voice right. Yes So Stan it becomes you know I mean I’m going to say it does. This is a way to do that although I do what the other way around. Writing online I have a mild amount in my mind my new very very very miniscule amount of fame on the Internet. That’s from my blog I have a link actually it’s funny I was looking at your site and I saw the founder of mixed media. I know that face like I’ve seen that profiles and we’re going to meet yet again and I looked up and I just I just how lucky I was like wow we have like fifteen friends are all big bloggers and stuff like that too and I think she’s invulnerable I don’t like I see so many people that I had no mutual friends with through blogging that community would speak. Blomkamp which is so my boys actually start off being significant and then stand up comedy just in a way for me to expand it to an audience that maybe wouldn’t otherwise read. You know blogs so why comedy I mean where you all as the class clown or do you just have like I say you want to share a table. I’ve always been a narcissist. I think that’s part of it and attention whore which is more than the class clown I think it’s one of those do you prefer to report yourself as a whore twice like you I would write live minutes. Yeah you know some old guy was trying to tell jokes you know dirty bar and dress up and I’ll do it you have to have some jokes a look a hand-job level and some jokes are like the for money. Yeah yeah I know a lot of my jokes are actually they’re all different levels of exposure. I thought I was a comedy. I did a stand up routine when I was on my talent show in high school but then when I got divorced which is about five years ago I was looking for something to do and for Gates to be with an improv and they were talking about stand up their instruments and so it was shot and that was it. I wish I’d started it when I was eighteen to how many like how many like giant things you think of him started because of divorce not so many other things. Really everybody should get divorced if you’re married and you think you have to get divorced. Then once you realize that you have been sharing a life with someone now you know what it was because you’re not with somebody you can’t you know they don’t actually encourage you to go out and do things that you might never do. Now you finally do the you know you’re supposed to be. Well that’s right. She failed so miserably at just going to be a decent person. Yeah the resolution that story is in and you do all that shit to get another girl. Right right right. It is very true. I do hear second marriages last longer than first. I think it’s frustration it’s like the owners of action again. Well you know what you’re getting into what’s at stake. I can’t imagine why maybe a few years and occasionally actually when some Kevin Hart and others we get to bring someone is my first time ever going to someone who’s literally half my age thirty eight. She’s nineteen. Yeah dude I am like dating in Atlanta right now I’m just thinking to myself OK. Twenty one year old problems I don’t really want to take those on. You know like personally twenty five year old problems I can handle. Nineteen year old problems like that’s got to be extreme like how do you know what about parents. I mean that’s that’s like and I have a home by twelve you know. Now how do you know my ten because you and she can drink. Watch this be like your high school buddy you’re dating his daughter and it’s like oh she looks great here we’re going to go out for a good time. What do you talk about where the nineteen year old girl like I get I can Prime a conversation with like a nineteen year old and like trying to teach something to a bit like I’m just trying to teach something. I mean I was a joke that you know I don’t know I could actually find the right you know you know I can I have a conversation with anybody. If my and my neighbor’s kids that are you know ten five and I can sit down and just hang out with them you know and talk to them and then I can talk to somebody about anything and I have an ability since background that I can find common ground anymore so that’s really where you know a lot of times I’m I’m very inquisitive learn about people so I have my conversation or ask them about themselves and to tell me about their lives and everything and and you know what motivates them. And that’s that’s interesting a lot of where you are what does the one thousand year old want from you. Because I can guess what you want from her. It’s very shallow and probably true she is a stripper. I did not mention that. Oh she’s becoming wise beyond her years and I don’t like let’s just let’s play a game here OK Is that one better yes you know like this that is so impolite Matthew that I’m working on but it’s actually a true story that there wasn’t there was beautiful it really and smart. She’s actually in college when a legitimate call like you know Phoenix or whatever and and she actually you’re a legitimate college and she knows what you want to do like she’s doing this for a couple years and we’re talking about like what’s wrong with you. There has to be some of that you have daddy issues and she just let me know and I’ve got issues. He’s never been there and I have the absence of a daddy issue. OK I think it’s a laser that was at that point but you know I don’t know she just you know she I think she likes having someone who’s interested in her. That’s what anyone likes. Basically you ask questions you’re interested in they’re going to appreciate that while at the same time it’s like if divorce and sort of this crucible to make you aware of emotional like of yourself of like failing in general and what where to go next. Like stripping will be a very fast forward exposure to people’s very extreme emotional situations. Yes yes that is very. True it’s good material and it works. No doubt they’ll be a big great start for stand up. And the drugs don’t help. Right right. Yes I have a surprise I know or like the D.J. sells them cocaine it just becomes a super curse of system. Get the casket to have the stripper clothes prick by morning just kind of stuck. My God it’s like trying the other trade. Yeah it’s exactly what it is it’s you know it’s early it’s not like the drug issues are concerned I know liberals were not like that I’m my second officer So that’s that’s why I say that like I buy my roommate is a stripper right. Help their drinks for G. crisis so I know a lot of the Nano as your mother. Well it’s very different. It’s a story but there’s a lot of people who are very popular. You just they know they want and I’m impressed with those people. Oh yeah I actually had a class via text she was actually an escort to international businessman and as a Executive it a junior executive at a company now. Yeah she charged for her time the sex was free. Sure sure in one way or another everyone is a prostitute or something. That’s right exactly. I mean I sell goods and services. But what are your goods and services you so I don’t sell goods and I just sell services. But one of those I’m a lawyer. So you’re you’re the worst kind of horror we we will get money literally anywhere. That is I mean that’s actually like there’s a constitutional amendment that says no no everyone has a right to a lawyer who can turn around and I graduated from law school I don’t practice what you going to Dr So did you ever bother with the bar exam or anything. No no. Actually at the time we were dating she was in law school too so we just took classes she took a bar and all that and I started a business stuff instead. But I’m glad I got a degree. YS does and I went back and spoke to my law school an alternative degree or alternative careers. Agree. Here’s why not to be a lawyer shit man you get invited back to law school they never invited me back. It was I was my tenure you only as critical. Do you have a program is called interviews with celebrities. There’s a book a book. OK a little book called interview that’s Liberty started off you guys remember the whole Casey Anthony thing going forward. Oh yeah you know you know what happened. She killed her kid. When I questioned her and our family disappeared and they couldn’t find her and then also Knight found her dead and it was this big huge trial and then she was declared not guilty. Anyways I wrote kind of an interview with the daughter. It was a fake interview by sight that was just basically where we are agreeing that she the mom killed her and this is ridiculous that all these people are you know there’s all this time and effort and media exposure for to just say that she’s actually person she should not be in jail and I got very popular so I started interviewing celebrities after they died and that became like the most popular thing every time somebody would die. I would get text messages saying you know you’re coming up to the fact that like like Whitney Houston died I had the interview written about like two hours later. And so then I decided to compile it and wrote another like twenty interviews with and then I watched also has a book came out you know three years ago four years ago. OK. Any of them when you look back and there’s like a little harsh. No no they were all they’re all harsh on purpose I was I was harsh with those liberties that. What deserved I was very harsh to people who maybe were being worshiped for a reason people because they were going to use was a good example actual friends they were insulted by my interview with him and his we shouldn’t be so hard on him when he hears some cheese about a good five years sober now and he really said you know anyone else do you think she’s now forty eight hours over two days at the finest of all rehab Yeah right I was actually pretty Avatar she was so my work with Steve Jobs Steve Jobs want to go with George Carlin I started over once too and those were not harsh and actually combination of harsh and wished it would be hard to be hard of George Carlin. So what tournaments to real I mean he was a good zero bullshit to appreciate and he was he’s George Carlin was a philosopher before he was comedian. I mean not temporarily I mean just like like I guess philosophically or like he like he would go out there and make jokes on some like real big concepts that a lot of people either didn’t have the ability to recognize or just really didn’t feel comfortable talking about because it was funny to hear shit piss fuck common cunt that early in his career a man he grew he grew into the philosopher mindset. He started off very tame he had like bits on the weather and like there was for like baseball and football and making a hokey stuff like that every every good comic you see that happen. It’s trying to be all until they actually are just being truthful and those are words that Louis C.K. has done the same thing. There’s a lot of them. Well this is a question about a lot of folks. How long do you think it takes to discover like your voice is a comedian who probably ten years really maybe more I know I actually lecture and teach writing workshops on how to find your voices. I think time is you know I can help you. I was wanting to see what it would cost to have a roof down at my plant. Yes you had to take the old proposition and put all the new rules. Yes OK I already have what the. I have two both of them are on the same street. He can play in chip drive and twenty seventh grain Chitra located in Joshua Joshua. I think writing Larry Taylor. So out of nowhere we certainly got a following from the Tea Party. Yes This whole thing started is like political like bantering and there was one where we just got kind of real about it you know in ways that didn’t really hit any party line but was like critical of everyone and this one guy he’s got this giant Tea Party following politics which one should we listen to as well that one means like great all these tea parties come in and then that guy response exactly go on real strong voices to I can’t listen to that. Why a guy on This American Life and tell that to DENI DENI response thank you so much it’s an honor to be compared to This American Life and I tell it to me I’m so glad you’re doing this to serve me. Because if it was me I would have said and a Jewish host Summer right now. So you guys are actually trash the Tea Party for a little while. I can promise you at least one is listening. So where are you here in balance network suffer in trash the Tea Party we got to go after social justice Warriors after that. That’s just what I like of that’s the new definition of not being biased. I know we have to be biased to both sides but it adds up to zero. No I make fun of the people who aren’t retarded. Everyone deserves to be made the fuck fun of. Yeah. Yes and it will take themselves too seriously. Any fucking sense put you get a fuckin egg on the face. Well what you got for us I should tell you much politics I try to be honest I just mean because you can’t convince someone who’s you so firmly grasping onto a thread I just find this better not you why did you start like a public figure having a voice and exposure like that. Oh I had one I had like my full name and everything on my site. Well I think lost ninety eight and store or restaurant. Writing H.T.M.L. and girl pages are really on the right ones. Blogs guarantee that. And I’m slowly just become more more more strict. Well that I will go before I’m dedicated to me and that’s the end result for Medicaid to me it’s something that I decided I’m just not going to be transparent which does make you want to date sometimes too because sometimes when you have a google history. Yes you can and you can find only about me I don’t mind telling you. But it means that whatever I share they don’t get special you know get my personal stories are Internet. Technically the show is our foray into public figure dumb or whatever you know and it’s all of a sudden new executives here and they are. Yeah haha I was kind of stupid right then. Darn that’s going to last forever. You know yeah I mean I’m sorry I’m sorry. You do all we do it but mostly just if it’s a non sequitur that’s not funny. And that’s really it’s kind of like half the time the stupid things are the funniest thing so fuck it it’s true fuck it will do it live I mean whatever. I mean at first I wasn’t cursing and after a while I realized it was a holding me back because I curse in real life. I mean that’s part of my vocabulary. I don’t know if I’m proud of that but like I think when I saw The Daily Show controversy over this new guy’s name no no I Trevor Noah. OK So there’s a he said something about fat girls or something who cares what is true Twitter post was a few years ago we made a joke and some people got their panties in a wad over it and then I just start thinking how insane this was because they had to go through years of Oh yeah before they found this one that they’ve got an eye catching now. Now this is a talking a brother about as I hated him a time five years ago he said something stupid fuck you. No I have a similar kind of article it said a man who is no longer racist was ten years ago and we’re all still a little uncomfortable about it or something right. That absent some very fancy things and I Mean Girls person and thing is I’m willing to defend everything else in the past but it’s out there I could never be president. We keep saying that like this idea that politics you have to have like this clean slate record but like in my mind like you are almost less trustworthy if you’ve done a better job of covering everything up in your past. That’s true. Like him at this point it’s like you’ve been in hiding for ever. Why should we give any credence to this kind of situation and I think it’s sort of like Clinton Dolan was probably the one where it started to become something where we were actually a little more accepting of tough but didn’t inhale that and then And then of course we had Bush who did coke and like it were like to be like sure you know and now like it was too early to you know. So just what it’s like now are all right our Warlock’s realize you know these are still human beings there’s a lot to be kids and teenagers and adolescents. Yeah. Like are people deprived of the childhood the way our structure is right now between and between the management of your entire life being on record. And second of all. Or maybe like exposure to anxiety that you don’t need as a kid that you know I think the answer that is keep it off the Internet and this is like hey yeah you know it’s very easy you just sit there and say you know if if it’s a young enough that you can sit there and say like a six or seven year old get a Facebook profile or if you’re stupid parent you’re going to a Facebook profile for your cable let’s forget the narcissist for a second let’s assume you’re a responsible for you know me well adjusted parent. And you just you’re just like look you don’t get you know get Facebook you know get Twitter you don’t get any of that show you know get airings your fuckin child like and you’ll be treated as such. And then from from there on in. I mean once they reach a certain age whatever age it is magical age fourteen fifteen thirteen when you really realize like I can’t control if I’m looking at porn behind the scenes you probably have a goddamn new Facebook profile like whatever’s super secret nobody knows about yet you just got a bunch of the basics I’d like to just be careful. Like this shit never goes away. That’s a new thing for four and I’m just concerned over. I was one I was thinking about asking that you know was in a divorce with kids you know. No OK for much more. I remember Lucy he’s Louis C.K. is joke where he says my marriage every single year just got worse and worse and worse. But every single year my divorce gets so much better. Me and my wife we’re actually friends now we were never friends before. So why do you guys get divorced. Why do we get divorced Wow That’s that’s actually I think I actually got married in the in-laws were going to law school because I was worried that I was going to die alone because everyone in law school was engaged or married and so we never got along well and I think I pushed myself to get my washing. Yes I think I have a lot of friends of the temples. Yeah cause I was I was twenty four I don’t remember when I was twenty one twenty four and it was just one of those things that I you know I should have done it was actually good for a while but we actually got going well as a lawyer. What’s your what is your advice to anyone thinking of marriage then your marriage I mean make sure you expression of like life as a single person make sure you know who you are as a single adult before you. Decide if you are as a couple. You just read will identify so please be careful and they have no identity as Or and that’s it’s taken me five years to be OK being alone if I want to be. Sites like choice. Now this is a this but we have a serious conversation. Yeah yeah yeah well can we come castor oil and I’m going to have some suddenly to pray and love your will if you’re your About page or so I believe the word brutal isn’t there. At some times at them like we should edit that out and then it’s our conversation right this one like that and that’s probably going to read your rant against Comcast the timi put in on that first draft. Oh that was funny and I don’t like that I was going to say that on the money that was heartfelt seriously thought the the eggs bacon and the moment they can find out if you just saw on my site if you have a chance to look but actually sunlight collection is something that I’ve just now do and I actually I had my personal assistant she spent the last nine months out the deicing and then cataloguing my fucking god I mean how many do you have twenty thousand five hundred. What the fuck. Yes I bet. Basically it’s almost every comic that’s come out for the last price used to stand to see readable is just a collection in our animal I don’t get a man reading every Wednesday on the way I mean I like to read all of it so you know he’s already all OK Before we keep going. We will talk for two hours about comic books and we’ll look back at to be like six X. in conversations over the podcast so let’s do it but just to have like a ten minute gap so there’s a figure not a character and who went into fights by members of Galactus but by then I have a band of Infinity Gauntlet minus the minus minus the spirits down. Only together infinity golly you see what I see you see what I’m talking about. OK D.C. person like it’s one of those things that Marvel’s Good morrow good to see my thing like Superman is my thing. Batman what I like about D.C. vs Barlow’s if your P.C. is iconic and moral it is people do it’s like inner psyche heroes who are all like Stanley and people are going to be in time nerdy kids and say well this is what I would do this is what I would you and I don’t D.C. is like where our ideals were are like our avatars of society and that’s kind of let me just if you were going Superman there is no equivalent to Superman in the Marvel Universe and I don’t mean by power I mean just who he is. I didn’t shout out to read it for this one because when can to describe it very well which was to see his superheroes trying to be human whereas Marvel was humans trying to be superheroes and that’s that’s that’s perfect. Yeah actually I mean daredevil definitely as a human just putting on a pretty sweet black suit but as I wasn’t as big a fan of the Red Sea but as a human you’re bringing with you every problem you have. And those in fact are what are more expressed through your powers but the powers themselves. Yeah I mean that’s why Spider-Man is enduring as he has a big guilt complex. Right right and I think that’s what makes us better right. Good Superman stories and good Batman story sometimes because they are like they’re almost flawless. When you got to dive into math I mean that’s really what about oh yeah but the one shots are where they really shine and this is something I’ve talked about for years that D.C. and their movies actually reflect this too. They’re going to put out a lot of schlock because they have monthly titles to put out but when they really say OK we’re going to vest in time and energy into let’s just say The Dark Knight the light fantastic movie but it’s got to go back to the comic books. You’ve got Kingdom com or the Dark Knight Returns or Batman Year One like all that stuff is where they just kind of like they say OK forget that established continuity just tell a great band or great Superman so next All-Star Superman where Grant Morrison just got to go nuts. He really dove into the psychology of Superman where and like there’s just a cons like what man by how far he went with that but what caught me that was the zany mess of Superman that’s his average day because he was so far stronger than everyone else that bullshit like Brainiac and Lex Luthor that so far beneath him that’s like ants. Honestly so so the things that really captures attention like it appears that I’m stuck in a fifth dimensional universe itself out of the situation. I agree and that’s why that’s why some of those stories that the one the one trying to make were also there’s a high risk if you don’t know what’s going to happen in the end you’re more invest because you know I will be fine. You don’t know what happened but I would I would have to say it’s sort of like favorite series though one of the best series that I was a writer as far as being an all in the superhero universe we do that like a video game know what’s in it was yesterday. Garth Ennis Yeah the guys having a commuter death experience he has to come back in the fight like this could explain now there’s actually things an Irish group an Irishman rooted in New York and basically he’s a killer for hire and they had a bloodlines like series in D.C. where like illions injected like kill those people but a small small percentage of power he got power to read minds and see through walls and Garth Ennis to punish or and always how much other books he wrote his whole series turning sixty issues about this man living in the D.C. Universe. Mandel makes an appearance in spite of that. Man’s story of a Red Green Lantern that means it once you know they’re all in and basically it’s just his story about this guy grows up who happens to kill people for a living and it’s excellent and it’s very very good and it’s it shows an evolution creature is Carson is also wrote preacher right. Fantastic run but you can see some of his imagery in it and man is where you can tell that he’s learned from that. So it’s like it’s like watching better call saw it was bad because you think it is a fantastic but I I watched it I was like This is immature. Some of these are going to rejoice in some of these you can’t you can tell it checks honestly from your heart. I wasn’t through all that I loved but I was thrilled with it and I watched better call saw and I’m like wow he learned so much of the last six years of doing Breaking Bad Like he just you can tell what he was doing books and we were able to live. OK As could could contained time period it’s a great topic because if there’s a lot of people who maybe it takes a minute before they feel comfortable chatting about you know the ghost experience they had. So a nice little conversation occasionally I’m sure you know there was there was no no no preamble at all so foreplay and that’s just what is going to drive. So we’re going to be the best super power. So you test your best superpower. Oh no I think a little luck when luck to remove luck to the point where no one really knows. Wow All right. So what’s his name like Magoo like Mr Marvel character like he’s so lucky everything he does a long long time. That’s a great name if your super powers line. And here’s a hint basically that the odds were always big favor so they don’t run in your favor. Yes So. She is Tracy this is like a fuckin Rorschach test for your own like insecurity interesting to see. Yeah there’s like a painting what your personality is what you get out of mine. Just go into pro fuck you. Well I’m not a little. It’s like it’s like plans for asshole. Whatever will figure it out. Cars are reasons I worry. It’s the best fucking superpower. You’re not going to get an answer. I know there’s not a right answer but like fundamentally superpowers are like you know extraction of your own. Well he said it like what inferiority that she’s inside. It doesn’t have to be so deep seated could be very superficial like I’ve had to go skydiving. I’d like to fly. Yeah you can be. It’s true that I mean there’s you know I hadn’t read that roar shack as deep as you want it’s pretty much just like I mean I supply a base of rings so shallow they don’t really have any further lies. I think he just did it just psychoanalyze the wanting to fly. It happened. Casper superpower. This reminds me of Garfunkel and Oates has a song called The Worst superpower ever. I love the rhyme for this one would you rather have flight or invisibility. Where would you be a brave blind man with the power to see. I never heard of daredevil summed up so perfectly. A blind man with the power to see him but he’s not really brave. My super power fuck I guess decision making and they’re going to be some kind of healing. I don’t think it would be and I like the feeling like in a medical way maybe unlike a spiritual way I can see that I saw my son and I So that’s pretty interesting I could go around and Mike exercise houses like you can heal the spirit. Because maybe that’s only jaws will scale in this accent. Yeah well to a certain extent he just psychoanalyze as ghosts and makes them OK with everything and then they move on since that would never occur to me to even consider Serapis to his kind or that really. Yes there will be super super speed super speed very straightforward. Yes if there’s a reason for because you proceed if you start moving fast enough you can do pretty much any travel time you’re stronger because you have the ability to just you know force of your of your last your last each you can fly you can do pretty much whatever you want. You also burst into flames because a friction truck at which we’re going to ignore the logic of that two hours speech or a virus fast enough you can you know Lex Luthor should be furious at the concept the speed force because it’s like a human who is bound by all the rules and does everything he can and then a guy who’s obviously magic trying to write physics around it’s magic and it’s like fuck you fuck you and fuck off because you know you’re trying to be a scientist Mr the flash you’re not. You break every world or fucking is stop pretending down by the rest of us like the rest of us are not discovering new principles. You’re just ignoring all of them during the thing Lex Luthor just a standard Georgia Tech professor theory is that a student at one time Matthews explains where the power is the flash and he says to me he says Max the flash can run so fast there are moments when he can actually run forward in time and I was some sort of response does relatively work that way and he just looks at me like upset me like this is I am Man three all over again. I mean if he really didn’t make very much so I feel it was worthless has no our genes forward in time. Who does all of us right now. Yeah well the flask unlikely. Sleep for Tom Thumb his speed. Somebody shot a bullet at the flash that actually chased him through time and his only means of escape was running so fast that the finish line became the end of the universe. Well as we know it so time is really his track. That’s obviously a magical plotline speed for obviously related to the words all over Mr E. and the rest of the fuckers in the book of magic and Constantine and now I mean I know you’re you’re exactly right that is that makes absolutely no I think some punishment for that. Now I’m going to do this before so I feel like they actually now they have explained it in such a way that it’s just essentially it is the spirits of the others former speedsters kind of protected speech. So it is becoming now a generational thing and it’s a power that you get that allows you to break the laws of physics. Yeah I actually ordered. I mean I’m a retailer. I was buying so many how much my local store and the discount so I just threw up a fake storefront and got a diamond retailer license from them is like that as long as I spent I think you three hundred months retail cost I could. Or do you have do you have a problem. I did but I don’t know much that’s because you get fifty seven percent off so I was only spending one hundred thirty bucks a month so forty bucks a week on comics which sounds like a lot and it is a problem. But so I just became a retailer and then I would order things good discounts on last Christmas and I ordered I think fifteen copies of the hardcover and they were they were selling for like I want to three seventy five four. As we’re short print in a rare kind of fanfare and I had like fifteen copies of my flippin sex stories. Yeah let’s not smite because it is kind of like the point isn’t to be pornographic but it is very in your face right. Oh yeah yeah yeah. Well it catches me about more and why I keep going back to them is you can pick up anything that he’s written assuming you don’t need a back story to pick up where you are in the conversation. And he’ll blow your mind. Long story short there’s some random thing. Never heard of before pick it up and it’s it’s gold. How he in like actually said really about more it’s like why hold back. I don’t think some people hold back like whoever the hell wrote Battle Pope I don’t think he had much to give It’s not so much holding back so much his legacy is kind of like maybe not the best story to match or if it had a name on it it’s hard to be mean toward him you know what else is you know you know. Oh yes I thought it was just such a kind of hope it as it was in this but it just felt like such a waste of potential because there are so many great ideas to take where like the Lord and Savior needs your help especially from the pope and it is just like every time he has a chance to go the poop joke he takes it. Yeah and that’s part of maturity as a writer and I feel like Alan Moore probably has some early stuff out there. Nobody’s ever seen. That’s probably not very good. Maybe it might still be better than half the stuff that’s out there but it’s still like showing his evolution. Well like we said earlier you know it’s not your shame of your past shouldn’t be held against you. Right right. So sorry correct. I don’t see and I’ve been out of it. As two years I know the duck I read with that fraction. Some of that while enjoying it it’s all about inferiority. That’s funny if I can do it. Many structural concentrator were one of those. Do not let us be your relapse. Really I want the right you don’t want to get that model you have to work and read. It’s like Netflix for books now. Do you sort of like quoting numbers for how much you’re like putting into this obsession it’s like obsession here devoted hobby. I mean you know but I was like Of course this guy’s neck it’s you know it’s been you know that money all goes somewhere else. If you go to one up in Buckhead there’s actually complex shop that there’s a sort of wing of it that’s all pornographic comic books. That’s where you could succeed of retail that’s just that’s the winner. There’s literally no that you are actually you know and it’s called they become like easy and you know like a monthly membership that you can do where you get to watch like Thrones or whatever they do comedy there that stage as well and can actually use it we’re going to we’re going to drink and everything and see if that’s the only way to working. If it was you know lots of revenue streams. Matthew read a recent blog post of yours and it’s can that it was about going on a date with a married woman with a marital polyamory I believe you’re talking about when I was on what I want to reduce I wanted to go to the post I called the first one was what was called going to turn it off I mean like getting a message you can probably not use conversation and she’s kind of said like well you know we meet up and you’re lucky yours will be the first wife she’s like oh it’s a lot of pressure. Oh yeah talk about put it. For all of why he might want to tell me after four afterwards eight years was the first one to go. You know that but that’s OK but like I can’t get enough pressure I can imagine just supporting my you know representing my entire race on doing so but I will yeah so that I struggle to polyamory is one of them I got a message from from somebody just coming at the beautiful relationship she does her husband and how wonderful it is and she will soon be and has introduced other individuals and their lifestyles and that’s just that’s just I don’t understand the concept. My favorite bit is that they’re always saying that any anxiety you feel is just to roam possessiveness that you’re bringing into it. So the fact that you feel bad about me being in these other do that’s your fault is your problem. Just go of all that insecurity and knows that he will tangentially your last relationship lifestyle I always feel like from from watching them that one of them is the person who is in control and what he or she says the other person because they’re so desperate are kind of pathetic almost that they don’t know how to be alone or figure out their own so there’s going to go along with it because they feel it’s the only person I think it’s a power thing for for most people who are the one demanding it you know they just they want to you know these fit females I feel like the females who are into that a lot of them just need constant not affection but desire they need to have that feeling of just always being chased in the high that you get from being the queen and the men who do it I just it’s got to be ego and it’s like yeah well I’m better than you so I’m not going to be tied down to you. So I’m always going to stay have my options open or something. But I’ve seen that like four. On it’s face to like I was going like thinking that at them like this girl who is giving them a chance played someone so like connecting with them and like bringing everything in and suddenly all he feels is completely fucking miserable inferior but here’s the thing it’s all high for her because the the initial several months of any good relationship are going to be non-representative of like the real time and well yeah and I mean people talk about this all the time like when you first fall in love like that lasts for a little while so of course you know the girl who is you know out there banging this new dude thinks he’s like the perfect guy. He really gets to me. Yeah I will. Nine months ago. Did your previous boyfriend was the perfect guy who got you and like she doesn’t see that you know it’s a repeating cycle I had to rip on females or because like I do to do it too but do it like next year point out that we have our own separate insecurities and just not talk about it and the better and so I do believe monogamy for that emotional support just so long as England at their side you know you know I’m fine I’m like I can’t stand polyamory because I have plenty of situations where I’m the other guy someone were rich I have a lot of people who you know they’re not happy. EARLY START and then they come over to my house on the best side bitches because we can’t get pregnant. Are you insinuating that strippers step out on their boyfriends. No I’m not saying I’m saying a lot of mommy bloggers asked Oh boy that techno Look I don’t know a lot of them come out and actually read and they tend to fall for me a lot of times and some of them and some are just they’re good people some are just like they’re happy and I just well it’s fun and I understand if you’re not happy with it you understand either end or start up is you have to be one of the other or just be happy. I don’t stand if you say you’re unhappy really. Why did you bring somebody else to do it if it’s a beautiful wonderful relationship then you should be OK and I’m going to interpret this in the most shallow way possible. Tell us exactly how we can get laid by blogging that well. Well blogging is a heavily female dominated environment unless you like about Tagore site fires were taken both of those out of the show so personal and there is very few very few notes centric. So if you write and you know I to be honest good relationships and entanglements that I’ve been involved in over the last five to seven years I’ve been purely because people read my words and it really can actually mean just from reading my writing you know it was because I just it was able to express myself in such a deeply emotional way that it resonated with them. Does that cut through like the difficulties of talking to strangers sometimes and I sometimes I don’t know if I go on a date I might get you know she literally I read that makes it easier for me there are some things so you know my dating profile is your website it was like my Ok Cupid I say here’s my hand on my website. Go read it if you don’t like what I have to say you know you’re not like I mean I do because I don’t want to waste time. That’s who I am I don’t hide who I am and I’m not I don’t put up a facade either but it does frustrate Sometimes I’ve had like drug testing and everything else. So what you’re saying you know if you want to know more about me and I know I’m going to get to know you personally. Fuck the whole point of me having it on the Internet is and you can go to really you know start me and read about so you know it’s time to fall in love with what I’ve already written and then it will just jump straight to sex. Exactly. OK perfect you know we can put this whole thing on the fast track and listen I’m still here for you emotionally the same way that it looks like the guy you’re reading will do that thing and you know it’s like. Like falling in love celebrity it’s like no no keep admiring and now it’s paying and we’re going to actually have been reading my site and she’s friendly on Facebook too and she my my my home my house masses looks at it but which is called the little cancer where at from when the little camp for wayward women. You’re a fucking co-leader. Well that’s what I have my as my house and and so it was she said she said she starts and she remarried and she said you know you seem to be the hero villain and murder all the same time. You seem like intruding into too many red flags How kind of way. I would very much like to be very very cautiously and is just like your it would actually be just as tough to describe you. Yeah because you know I don’t I am open and honest but then some as I guess I come across need a massage. Mr Sex is the sense that I have a house call people what you have or are you aware of Tucker Max and I think yeah it was not offensive to you just now you was everything you have said about the wayward women thing I was getting get a distinct Max vibe though I think I honestly when we were not trying for something to my house I have people stay here sometimes you know we were does not mean you know we were and has a meaning of being willful of choosing your own past not following tradition and that’s the term that I can use for what I thought I had a friend stay here she can choose of our town or not how I know she’s doing it for like six months rent at one of our arms and she just like a little insulted by a person explaining to relate No I don’t like wayward when as and I don’t want so I’m just going to try to fuck me I don’t want to that’s not what I mean by when I like someone who’s wilful. Who’s going to her own decisions. Someone who’s willing to you know just go away. I like I like actually like an actress I don’t I like I like people I guess I collect almost I collect like experiences I like to find out about all these different types of people I like. I’m also let’s put a little perspective about you I also want to business I’m also on the board of directors for the Central Florida Better Business Bureau which is the largest inter-country you know all these other things too. So like I like like just meeting people and getting to learn more about what makes everybody tech I mean that’s been a big motivator to show if you didn’t like it I actually started on just time fortunately called the people who work in dancing fire bartenders managers bouncers owners and dancers to find out there’s human to people these are people that have stories that you know you might actually appreciate that might resonate with you. A woman recently published a book detailing the personal life stories of the Claremont lounge in Atlanta. Yeah so don’t you always. That’s exactly the one. Yeah. Oh yes well I think there was no place like it. That was my first trip but it was the first lap dance I think for most Atlantans it’s their first. Yeah I mean I don’t want to be like the cheater or the Golden and I want to listen to them or down to a place with some real culture a place that doesn’t you know Beach up and down the price of fashion to view the way you just mentioned that it’s like my neighbors are all with the daytime hooker. Well I mean to my credit I was twenty one so I mean you have like forty bucks to your name and say well how much is just that twenty bucks that have to do. So I mean you’ve got a perspective and it’s not really sex work is it what it wants to say no to a man. I mean some of those girls you can see they’re going to pass. Eventually they have no other skills but I know plenty who are doing it because they’re in their twenty’s who experience that they are proud of their girls are confident. So why not go up and dance and get paid that you know they did so and you can see any of these girls and I do see many of these girls having like stable monogamous long term relationships at some point in a future by doing some I know actually very long term serious relationships and they’re happy like they’re very happy with their significant others. They have complete trust and I see just as many you know toxic relationships but I also see those outside of the you know my roommates you know she’s she’s twenty one she’s you know she’s not twenty one relationship you know which is they’re always good. You’re twenty one other right. For second I thought you’re saying I’m not twenty two cents per cent Lannister. I have never seen you have to tell us it was kind of like I would say eight and a half the protege more that is five years ago or so at Eurostar and Charlotte. It was mean to other friends. We sat down at the capital girl and we were there for three and a half hours and he just told story after story. And like I wish I had recorded it is one of the most amazing dinners and I loved every story had it was just so rich with just detail but it was so fascinating no matter what the story was you know we’re going to milk and you just be like oh my God that’s a gifted storyteller. I mean and that really is a gift. I mean this is translator part of it was pretty surreal story it was a great commentary on our society and it’s actually inspired me. I’m working on a screenplay for a television show that is an adaptation of my book in the sense that it’s going to get the idea of those kind of tearing down these pedestal we put celebrities on and the ideas he’s going to be based on the fact that we should worship flourishes much as in trying to call the cops situation for God in this book. So what’s what’s the available plan of any of it sounds like you’re all over the place and you’re done as a staff yet stand com Anything else that the blogging thing you have house for wayward women to can’t live like do you like a vision like a heart. Are you going in one direction. Yeah I got when I was honestly sentencing left Hussein so sorry for that you care or I just cut out all that you know it’s no wonder it’s out of our way for both culturally and I don’t know how did you feel that I didn’t get that I think you know it’s been a night you know so at least you know it’s kind of it’s not it’s like if you know my my direction my direction where I worked. But it really is just you have my name out there. He is someone who is talented in different fields. So just casting a wide net get everything or you know or and if that doesn’t work then you know like maybe along lines like the whole jobs town cult suicides you know what we were so I don’t like your writing background might be right a system that you know yes particularly the typical understanding’s of comic books because I think Dianetics is pretty dated at this point and Hindu religion. We could really have a nice sort of southeastern thing bank a little bit of the Southern Baptist craziness but then bring in that new energy actually magma. Just to build on that. My thing is a promise something like Dianetics or any I mean any of the fun things to read is that when you get way too specific with what the cipher I in not the mythology but when you get way too specific with the the story line it ends up not transcending the reason the Bible and the Qur’an and all those other books stick around is because they’re really aim and what are swinging for the fences they’re just you know they’re just retelling other users with any religion. It’s just it’s to give people who don’t give people comfort when they do for themselves. It’s just like celebrity like celebrity there enough so I just be one of those people you know worship that we perfect one of the two men either become you know put on the rose investments in Iran or just be generally worshipped. I think I mean and actually I think I really just write like writing is really something that I enjoy doing I get a good response from teaching him to just write and I can just support myself purely by writing. Sometimes I feel like we’re gotten to the point of this conversation we’re just going to start talking about our lack of hired weird open up and sick man this is nice. Tell me what happened. No it all went downhill you know we started off big and then like and then we got the comics and then we started talking about joking about the weather now Stan talk about the weather was so nice I mean it was I mean like a beautiful little cloudy one thing we didn’t mention get this so places where drone strikes are popular. It’s become a point of fear to have clear blue skies that a lot of fucked up place today because you think if it’s a cloudy overcast that you’ll be safe walking home and right way to bring it down next this was a fun conversation and so well and it’s been nice. OK There’s been a sailor down here with Maximus crabs you can I know that’s got to be a separate five hundred on how common. Get real about life from the moment you’re starting to realize how brutal that is in the blogosphere you’ll just come and say hey can we talk about something nice for a change the SCO a frontier you know power beat you can take any next topic and talk about all of it but it’s not all of America you know and they’re not all left out honestly and interesting anymore. We’ve kind of going to hit that place. I’m sure you can go on for another hour but I don’t even know anymore. Well we’re looking forward to promoting anything releasing anything coming out not just shows but a dozen times if he had a prison in he was not in prison. It’s really it was an overblown thing. You know that I’ll To your knowledge about less want to rush you know because I have class and I know I think I buy the bell. Now what happened I thought he was in a strip club many like stabbed somebody when you suggest some time I thought it was a stripper. It’s gotten so exaggerated screen if it is true. He was no he was at a bar after a show with his wife and and some people kind of like it became an altercation and you got over something ridiculous basically and it’s kind of a fortune. He’s actually times you stayed in my
