Football:
Nebraska is preparing for a new look Oregon defense as the Huskers get set to host the 22nd ranked Ducks in Memorial Stadium. Former Michigan head coach Brady Hoke is in his first season as Oregon's defensive coordinator and has implemented a new scheme.
Hoke says the Ducks' run defense needs to improve this week. They gave up 193 yards on the ground in a 44-26 win over Virginia.
Nebraska hosts Oregon Saturday at 2:30 at Memorial Stadium, in Lincoln. The game will be broadcast on Mix 105.5, FM, with the Husker Sports Network coverage beginning at 9:30am. Today is our Husker Luncheon at the Wooden Windmill, in Fremont. Steve Sipple from the Lincoln Journal-Star will be the guest speaker. Doors open at 11:00. The all-you-care-to-eat bbq luncheon buffet is $15 and there will be many great prizes given away. The program begins at 12 noon.

The Fremont High volleyball team played at Grand Island last night, and lost three games to none, 25-18, 25-15, 25-13. Fremont is 4-7 on the season.

The Midland men's golf team finished play yesterday at the UNK Invite in Axtell, yesterday, shooting a 322. Garrett Giesselmann led the Warriors with a 77.
Soccer:
In women's college soccer, last night, Midland defeated Grace University, 5-0. The Warriors are 5-2 on the season.
Today:
The Fremont High softball team plays at Omaha Bryan today. First pitch is 3pm.
The Midland University women and men's tennis teams play at Buena Vista University, today, at 4pm.
The #1-ranked Midland University Warrior volleyball team plays at home tonight, hosting #20 Doane University. First serve from the Wykert Event Center is 7:30. The game will be broadcast on AM 1340 KHUB.
The Midland men's soccer team plays Bellevue University tonight. Kickoff is 8pm at Bellevue West High School.
Golf:
The Nebraska men's golf team fired 276 in the final round of the Badger Invitational on Tuesday, placing the team in seventh overall.
Michael Colgate, a senior at Nebraska, tied for third after carding a 68 on the final day.
NU received seventh place with an overall team score of 871. Iowa State captured first place by 10 shots, shooting 852 for the 54-hole tournament.
Soccer:
First-half goals from Myles Englis and Ricky Lopez-Espin helped the No. 14 Creighton men's soccer team defeat UMKC 3-0 on Tuesday night at Morrison Stadium.
Creighton continues the 2016 season with its first BIG EAST match of the season. The Bluejays host Seton Hall for Homecoming on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Volleyball:
The Omaha volleyball team hits the road this weekend for its final regular-season tournament of the season, playing three matches at the Billiken Invitational, Sept. 16-17, at Chaifetz Pavilion in St. Louis, Mo. On Friday, the Mavericks open with Illinois at 4:30 p.m. followed by Saturday matches with host Saint Louis at Noon and Murray State at 4:30 p.m.
