Softball:
Yesterday's rain postponed or cancelled many outdoor sporting events. The A-1 District Softball tournament was postponed to today. Fremont will play Columbus at 11:00 this morning, in La Vista.
Cross-Country:
The Heartland Athletic Conference Cross-Country Championships were held in the rain at Valley View Golf Course. In the girls' race, Lincoln East won the meet with 45 points. Fremont finished fourth with 97. Chloe Heller of Lincoln Southeast was the individual champion, finishing the 5k in 19:08. Fremont's Vivian Sanchez was eighth at 19:58. Myia Johnson was 17th at 20:18. Jahayra Alarcon was 19th at 20:36. Elizabeth Krohn was 25th at 20:57 and Karla Zavala was 28th at 21:09.
In the boys' race, Fremont took first place with 40 points. Lincoln Southwest was second with 57. Tyler Boyle of Lincoln Southwest took first in 16:24. Fremont's Jose Gonzalez was third at 16:30. Preston Decker was seventh at 16:41. Sage Reiger was eighth at 16:41. Jack Schulz was tenth at 16:48 and CJ Martinez was 12th at 16:51.
Tennis:
The Fremont High boys' tennis dual with Lincoln Northeast was cancelled.
Volleyball:
The Fremont Tiger volleyball team lost to Millard South, three games to none, 25-10, 25-12, 25-14.

Today:
The Fremont High boys' tennis team will host Lincoln Southeast at the Fremont High Tennis Courts at 2:00 this afternoon.
The Fremont High football team plays at Lincoln High, tonight at 7:00. The game will be broadcast on AM 1340 KHUB.
The Archbishop Bergan cross-country teams run at the Centennial Conference Meet at Pioneers Park in Lincoln at 4:00 this afternoon.
The Bergan football team plays its' homecoming game tonight versus Tekamah-Herman at Heedum Field. Kickoff is 7:00. The game will be broadcast on Mix 105.5, FM.
The Midland University men's golf team competes in the Nebraska Intercollegiate Meet, in Norfolk, today.
The Warrior women's hockey team will host the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities at the Sidner Ice Arena at 5:00, today.
The Midland men's hockey team will host Colorado State, at the Sidner Ice Arena at 7:30, tonight.
Soccer:
The Nebraska soccer team (9-4-1, 3-2-1 Big Ten) struck first against Wisconsin, but a late goal by the Badgers led to a 1-1 draw at McClimon Track/Soccer Complex on Thursday night.
The Huskers continue their road trip on Sunday when they face 17th-ranked Minnesota at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. The game starts at 2 p.m.
Swimming:
The Nebraska swimming and diving team will be in action Saturday, Oct. 8, as the Huskers travel to Ames to take on Iowa State. The meet begins at the Beyer Hall Pool on Iowa State's campus at 11 a.m.
Saturday's meet will be the first regular-season competition the Huskers, after swimming at home in the preseason intrasquad and alumni meets the past two weekends.
Following Saturday's meet, the Huskers will face South Dakota State in Brookings on Oct. 14, before Nebraska opens its home schedule at the Devaney Natatorium against Northern Iowa on Friday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.
Golf:
The Nebraska women's golf team returns to Colorado for the second time this fall to compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Denver, Oct. 7-9.
The Huskers will be one of 18 teams trying to conquer the par-72, 6,450-yard layout of the Highlands Ranch Golf Club this weekend. Nebraska will be the lone representative from the Big Ten Conference in the field, which is loaded with teams from the Mountain region and the West Coast, but also includes teams from Delaware and Georgetown.
The young Huskers are coming off a solid showing at the Chip-N Club Invitational to close September. Freshman Kate Smith continued her strong start as a collegian by recording her third consecutive top-15 tournament finish and second straight top-10 showing.
Basketball:
The Nebraska women's basketball team will take aim at its sixth consecutive postseason tournament appearance in 2016-17, under the direction of first-year head coach Amy Williams.
The former Husker guard (1995-98) who played on a pair of NCAA Tournament teams at Nebraska before embarking on a coaching career, has plenty of experience coaching successful teams to postseason runs at all levels.
Nebraska will make its first appearance in the Preseason WNIT since 2004, when the Huskers play host to at least three games at Pinnacle Bank Arena to open the season. NU will open the regular season against UT-Rio Grande Valley (formerly Texas-Pan American) on Saturday, Nov. 12.
Soccer:
Paced by a goal from freshman Kylin Grubb in the third minute, the Creighton women's soccer team defeated Seton Hall 4-0 on Thursday, Oct. 6. The win boosted the Bluejays to 7-3-2 on the season and 2-2-0 in BIG EAST action, while Seton Hall fell to 4-7-1 overall and 0-4-0 in conference play.
The Bluejays return to action on Sunday, Oct. 9 as Creighton hosts St. John's at 1:00 pm.
