Educational Presentations at the Dodge County Fair in Scribner
Thursday at 7 pm, Natalie Bjorkland, aborist with the UNL Extension Service, out of the Dodge County Office in Fremont will present information on trees, plants and gardening. Event will be in the Exhibit Hall and also provides fairgoers the opportunity to ask questions and get answers.
Friday at 6:00 pm, Joan Ruskamp of rural Dodge will speak on "Common Ground", which is a group composed of farmers sharing information about the food they grow and how they produce it, to educate consumers about the myths and misinformation surrounding food and farming. Event in the Exhibit Hall.
Saturday at 5:00 pm, Pam Bergstrom, the Agro Forrester with the Lower Elkhorn, Natural Resource District from Norfolk will talk about the Emerald Ash Borer and programs the NRD has available for tree re -plantings, in addition to other information on trees . Event is the Exhibit Hall.
Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00, Safety Program by the Dodge County Mutual Aid Association, Dodge County Sheriff Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Fremont and Dodge County Dispatch, and Fremont Health . Hands on activities including the smoke trailer, seat belt simulator, 911 simulator and roll over car. Life Net will land at 1 and there will be a Jaws of Life Demonstration at 2:00. Event is in the West Arena .
Saturday and Sunday from 1-4:00, Nebraska Game and Parks Interactive Trailer - The trailer features hands on activities and information relating to outdoor activities. Don't miss this change to see what fun awaits you in Outdoor Nebraska.
Saturday from 10:00 am to noon, Three Rivers Health District of Fremont will have a Bike Safety Rodeo. Kids are encouraged to bring their bikes and trikes to ride through the obstacle course and learn about safety measures along the way.
