Statehood Day at Capitol
The Nebraska Statehood 150 Commission will mark Statehood Day with a series of events including actor portrayals of famous Nebraskans, music by Nebraska high school students, art exhibit opening and more.

Sing Across Nebraska
All students in Nebraska schools will sing "Happy Birthday Nebraska" at the same time. The event can be seen live on Nebraska Public Television.

Kearney Talks
Talks on the origins of Nebraska statehood and the Nebraska constitution by Peter Longo, professor of political science at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and Anthony Schutz, associate professor of law at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ornithologist Paul Johnsgard, an internationally recognized expert on sandhill cranes, will discuss the long environmental history of Nebraska and the Platte River valley.

Minatare Living History
The fourth- and sixth-grade students at Minatare Elementary School will bring historical figures to life during this event. After researching historical figures from Nebraska or historical figures that have had an impact on Nebraska, students will bring the figures to life with posters and presentations.

NE150 Quilt Competition Display
The Nebraska State Quilt Guild sponsored a wall quilt competition. The submitted quilts are part of a statewide traveling display.

Homestead Celebration
Homestead National Monument of America celebrates Nebraska's sesquicentennial with the Heartland Storytelling Festival, live music, food and a special guest speaker.

Bayard Birthday Lunch
Planned by Bayard Elementary School fourth-grade teachers and their classes, guests can enjoy a Nebraska-themed lunch of beef, corn, mashed potatoes, roll, birthday cake and the state's official drink, Kool-Aid, in the school's cafeteria. Fourth-graders will sing "Beautiful Nebraska" and present their Nebraska-themed projects to the school.

Bloomfield Multicultural Night
The elementary students in kindergarten through sixth grade are celebrating Nebraska's 150th birthday. Each classroom will be learning about important moments and specific places that have made Nebraska "The Good Life". Students will create, decorate and exhibit projects related to topics such as Nebraska landmarks, homesteaders, historical trails, Nebraska legends and tall tales, state symbols, and ethnic groups that homesteaded in Nebraska.

Nebraska City Chorus
The Nebraska City Apple Corps Barbershop Chorus will present its annual show, with the theme of "NE150: Across the Wide Missouri." The show is filled with humor, educational information and singing by local members from Nebraska and Missouri. Featured guests will be the Belles-A-Peelin' Women's Barbershop Chorus and special guest quartet Masterpiece.

Six Corners of Nebraska
Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska Writers Guild are sponsoring a series of events featuring historical re-enactors, writers contests, author fairs, literary readings, speakers, writing seminars and more.

Nebraska 150 Aerospace
The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum will celebrate Nebraska's 150th birthday with an event and exhibit. The event features a keynote speaker, local high school bands, Get Smart Kool-Aid science workshop, a taste of Nebraska foods, and an exhibit opening. The exhibit includes a timeline from World War II through the Cold War and features the Wright Brothers, Savage Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Martin Bomber Plant, Tuskegee Airmen, Nebraska WASPs, Doolittle Raiders and others. The 30-foot linear display is portable so the museum can utilize it for public education engagements after the Nebraska 150 Aerospace celebration. The Get Smart Saturday workshops require advance registration and cost $7 per participant. The Nebraska 150 Aerospace event and exhibit are part of general admission: $12 adults, $11 military and seniors, $6 youths ages 3 to 12.
