Columbia St Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee Campus cancer program was recently
presented with the 2016 Mid-year Outstanding Achievement Award by the
Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee, part of Ascension, is one of a
select group of only 22 U.S. health care facilities with accredited
cancer programs to receive this national honor for surveys performed
July 1 – Dec. 31, 2016. The award acknowledges cancer programs that
achieve excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients.
Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee cancer program was evaluated on
seven commendation standards. To be eligible, all award recipients must
have received commendation ratings in all seven commendation standards,
in addition to receiving a compliance rating for each of the 27 other
standards. The program also earned the OAA at three consecutive survey
cycles (2010, 2013 and 2016).
