The man with the beard. Galvin is a former senior inter-county player for Kerry and has a prized GAA All Star Award to his name. He writes a weekly fashion column for the Irish Independent as well as posting on his personal blog, thisispaulgalvin.com. He is the Gaelic footballer with the most followers on twitter. Oh that Kerry accent..

Those locks aren’t a perm ladies, it’s all natural. McIlroy stormed onto the professional golf scene and has stamped his mark among the biggest names in the game. Standing at 5″9′, McIlroy is living proof that big things come in small packages. With 2 majors to his name the 24-year-old, is also loaded with money for all the golddiggers out there!

A former Manchester United player with a cracking left-foot, Brady has broke his way into the Republic of Ireland setup and nailed down a place in Hull City’s first team before he was hit with an unfortunate injury. The north-Dublin youngster will be back on our screens next season for everyone who has missed him.

14. Philip Deignan

This Donegal cyclist has racked up professional victories in his occupation at the Tour du Doubs, Vuelta a Espana and the Tour of the Gila. At 30-years-old Philly has still got a lot of gas left in the tank and has joined  Team Sky at the start of this year. Big things ahead…

13. Dave Kearney

The younger of the two Kearney brothers, Dave has cemented his place in the Ireland rugby squad and is often the topic of heated debate among women – who is the hotter of the two Kearneys?

In the life span of a professional footballer, Robbie is considered ‘old’ but at 33-years-old and soaking up a fine tan in LA, we’re sure some of you ladies would still look at Ireland’s top goalscorer with tender eyes.

A well-spoken and upper-class gentleman, Cathal was a former rugby enthusiast who fell in love with the art of MMA and is a participant in the UFC’s new series of The Ultimate Fighter. We’ll follow Cathal closely as he attempts to make his UFC debut later this year.

The Clondalkin boxer won the hearts of the Irish female population when he brought home a Silver Medal from the 2008 Olympics. The former boxer wants to transfer his fighting skills into politics as he announced in February that he will be running in the 2014 local elections as a Fine Gael candidate.  Thankfully Egan always kept his gloves up when fighting to protect his face – look out for his campaign election posters coming soon.

8. Stephen Farrelly (Sheamus)

Bouncer-turned-WWE wrestler, Sheamus previously worked the door at Dublin’s own Lillie’s Bordello before moving to the States to pursue his dream. 6″4′, ginger, and 250 pounds (of muscle) the Irishman has won the affection of female fans across the Atlantic. Greased-up men grappling half-naked in spandex, we can see why the ladies love Sheamus in the WWE.

7. James McCarthy

The young midfielder has broke his way into a top Premier League club as well as the Republic of Ireland national squad, subsequently raising his profile to hopeful female onlookers. We think the Scottish accent fashioned by the Glasgow-born footballer only heightens his ‘shiftability’ with female admirers.

6. Rob Kearney

Rob, the eldest of the two Kearney brothers, has long been a figure to be obsessed over by Irish mothers and daughters alike. A top performer in the realm of rugby, he has only recently had some competition for admirers when his younger brother Dave burst into the frame. Although we think Rob edges it for now.

5. Johnny Sexton

This kicker was one of the stars of Ireland’s Six Nations triumph this year, and has drawn female admirers from across Europe. Now playing his rugby in France, Sexton is Ireland’s highest paid player and universally adorned by female fans.

4. Bernard Brogan

Dublin’s Gaelic football talisman has achieved two 2 All Stars Awards and 2 All-Ireland Senior Football Championships. Brogan has acquired a sizeable following on his twitter account and has been known to venture into Coppers after certain Dublin victories!

3. Shane Long

A man of many talents, this new father is a typical all-rounder – one of those guys who you envy as a child because he just so happens to excel at absolutely everything he does. A gifted footballer, hurler, singer (ish)  and guitar player, Shane has been spotted busking in Temple Bar sporting an outlandish suit for the lucky women who managed to catch a glimpse of him sing Oasis’s ‘Wonderwall.’

2. Brian O’Driscoll

Certainly the Irish sports personality of the year. BOD is a miraculous rugby player with a soft-spoken gentle tone and a magnificent jawline. Man-crushes all around. Not many would deny the fatal attraction projected by Ireland’s hero of 2014.

1. Conor McGregor

The man who is breaking barriers and making all the noise in Irish MMA at the moment. Conor McGregor doesn’t just ‘talk the talk’, he ‘walks the walk.’  Beards are all the rage at the moment and Conor’s is certainly one to envy. A man with as many stylish suits as Barney Stinson, Conor has put Irish MMA on the map and is on his way back from injury to bring down the house on July 19th when the UFC returns to Dublin. You can follow his MMA career path to date and yearn over his figure in his recent documentary, ‘The Notorious Conor McGregor.’
