With spring in full bloom, students have officially traded in their dark winter clothes for bright summer trends. Not only have florals and pastels resurfaced, our beloved shorts and skirts are also descending from the depths of our closets and drawers. The ever-loved high-waisted denim shorts are still as popular as ever but after spotting this Fashionista with a retro high-waisted skirt, I’m thinking this throwback look should be our go-to this spring.
Although the possibilities are endless with such a simple denim skirt, the simplicity of the crop top is a clear winner. This outfit is easy, comfortable and definitely casual enough to wear around campus and to class. This outfit also allows for some major creativity when it comes to accessories. Not only could you pair the skirt with patterned leggings on a cold day, you could also rock a serious statement necklace for your night on the town. You could go big with some kicking heels or keep it classy with chic loafers. There are a multitude of ways to accessorize such an easy outfit and you really can’t go wrong.
This Fashionista decided to accessorize with some great statement earrings. Not only do the earrings complement her gold shoes and stackable bracelets, they also add a great pop of color against her neutral look. The orange and gold offer a great spring color but any combination of colors would do. Bright cobalts and fiery reds are sure to make noise, but even black ones would spruce up the look. You could even take it up a level and go full on chandelier for a party or nice dinner. Either way, when it comes to accessorizing a simple outfit there’s nothing wrong with switching it up by using statement earrings instead of the traditional necklace.
