On April 1, 1960 a legend was born, a British/German legend that everyone and hopefully their mother have heard of; this legend is the famous Dr. Marten boot. The notorious boot is distinguished among its kind because it is the speaking piece of the self-respecting, rebellious teens of the 1960s till today. Not only does this brand make the most iconic boots of the ages but they also have branched out with different styles of shoes like the Mary-Jane and Oxford styles, which are oh-so cute I might add. If you don’t own a pair you want to, and if you don’t want to own a pair, you haven’t seen them in action like I have. They scream, “I’m a force to be reckoned with and I have great style,” which is what made this Fashionista stand out to me.

After a rather awkward attempt on my part to talk to this Fashionista on campus about CollegeFashionista that I will just blame on my immense jealously of her shoes, I got to take a good look at this Fashionista’s outfit. She paired her acid wash skinny jeans with a cool studded, collared shirt under a black top, which was practical because of the cold weather, yet super chic. She wore an olive military style coat to help finish off the clothes portion of her outfit. Where she completed her look was with her rings that were not only adorable but also vintage; nothing in this world makes things cooler than if they are vintage. The lilac nail polish was also a very nice touch to the outfit! Last, but certainly not least, my favorite part of her outfit is the burgundy Dr. Martens that were not only amazing but also distressed. Most shoes don’t look good distressed and worn-in, but these boots have certain immunity to that rule – the more distressed the better when it comes to these boots!

Spotted: One of my favourite designers of ALL TIME, Saint Laurent recreated combat style boots that look pretty similar to Dr. Martens in their spring 2014 ready-to-wear line.
