The fashion industry’s fixation with pink coats doesn’t appear to be dwindling. In fact, the craze just seems to be gaining momentum. Dusky pink and rose-hued coats were the surprise hit of Autumn/Winter 2013 (M&S didn’t order enough of their sell-out design, and instantly lived to regret it); and as we head into Spring/Summer retailers are still pushing the look.

Now, with the Autumn/Winter 2014 shows approaching, you might be expecting something new. Yellow or orange coats, perhaps. But, if the Pre Fall 2014 collections are any indication of what’s to come at the big four fashion weeks, you’d be wrong in thinking the pink coat has had its day. It’s still top of the fashion-food-chain. Only this season it’s all about pink coats in fuzzy, furry textures.

Fuzzy pink coats have popped up in a number of Pre Fall 2014 lookbooks. At Emilio Pucci [top images] they were paired with sexy, fuchsia lace-up boots. No.21 and Calvin Klein Collection [above left and right] both showed feather-y coats in soft pink tones. And Versace [below] opted for a cuddly, teddy bear texture.

I’ll be on the lookout for high street alternatives in faux fur. I still don’t own a pink coat, so I might have to skip the AW13 look altogether and head straight for a fuzzy Pre Fall number.

Miley Cyrus has already jumped on the trend, wearing Calvin Klein Collection’s furry coat to the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala, last weekend. I think it’s one of her best red carpet looks to date (minus the stripper shoes). Very early ’90s, and I’m getting a major Clueless vibes from the slip dress too…

Are you still a fan of pink coats? Will you give Pre Fall 2014′s fuzzy and furry look a go? As always, leave a comment and let me know…
