In case you haven't heard, Dead Space 3 launched on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC today. You know what that means? Obligatory launch day DLC announcements! Isaac Clarke is using the buddy system in his latest foray into survival horror, bringing a hardened soldier, John Carver, along for the ride. The frozen planet of Tau Volantis may hold secrets of the Necromorph menace and a host of other dangers, but the story doesn't end there.
Visceral Games has announced Dead Space 3 Awakened, a new digital add-on in which "players will experience the franchise's darkest chapters as the Necromorph battles become even more gruesome and terrifying than ever before." The "Awakened" content will be available in March. It's priced at $9.99, or 800 MSP. The title begs the question: What, exactly, has been "awakened?" I bet it's not puppies. It's never puppies.
