In the lawsuit filed by the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) against Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes, Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips ruled that Snipes has taken the appropriate measures to correct incidences where voters received mail-in ballots with Amendment 2 – legalization of medical marijuana missing. In her ruling the judge wrote that NORML  failed to “demonstrate irreparable harm or a violation of a clear civil right” by Snipes.

Joys roti shop has officially opened their new location in Lauderhill Holding the grand opening on Friday, the celebration included a tribute to the late Joy Sawh, founder of Lauderhill’s famous Trinidadian restaurant, music, and food.

Last week the Consul General to Miami, Franz Hall, hosted a Diaspora Launch Reception to celebrate the beginning of the pledge 2 build education fundraising campaign where Jamaicans across the globe raise funds to improve schools in  their respective parishes. The Hero Caribbean Premier League is delighted to announce that the Zouks franchise has been purchased by Jay Pandya of Royal Sports Club based in Philadelphia. Pandya is the founder of the Rohan Group of companies, a real estate ventures with over 100 combined commercial and retail properties that employs in excess of 1,200 people.

There is growing national controversy and backlash against FBI Director James Comey for a letter he sent to Congressional representatives that implies there is further investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server when she was secretary of state. Information surfaced that new emails found by the FBI was not from Clinton’s server but one used by her aid Huma Abiden and her estranged husband Anthony Weiner.
