For the Doyle Drive extended weekend closure (Thursday, July 9 at 10PM to Monday, July 13 at 5AM), the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District offers the following information about our Bridge, Bus, and Ferry services.
GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
The Bridge will REMAIN OPEN at all times throughout the closure. Motorists should expect major delays, especially during the Friday commute periods.
The Southeast parking lot at the Bridge Visitor's Plaza will be CLOSED throughout the weekend. Tour buses will NOT be allowed to pick up or drop off in this lot.
There will be NO ACCESS to Hwy 101 South. All traffic will be diverted to Hwy 1 South/19th Avenue exit. Merchant Road/Lincoln Blvd will remain open.
The public is encouraged to avoid the closure area and to use Golden Gate Transit buses and Golden Gate Ferry or the Bay Bridge if traveling into San Francisco. There will be NO Muni service at the Golden Gate Bridge during the closure.
GOLDEN GATE TRANSIT
Golden Gate Transit (GGT) customers should expect delays on all trips into San Francisco throughout the weekend closure.
On FRIDAY, JULY 10, GGT service will be impacted as follows:
Commute service: MODIFIED WEEKDAY service - select trips on several routes will NOT operate to allow for more reliable and efficient service. Routes 92 and 93 will NOT operate. All routes will operate on a detour after crossing the Bridge and some stops will NOT be served. Click here for more information.
Basic service (Routes 10, 40, 42, 70, 101/101X): REGULAR WEEKDAY service
Local service within Marin County: REGULAR WEEKDAY service on local routes operated by GGT within Marin County
On SATURDAY, JULY 11 and SUNDAY, JULY 12, GGT will operate REGULAR WEEKEND service. All San Francisco service will operate on a detour after crossing the Bridge and some stops will NOT be served.
GOLDEN GATE FERRY
Golden Gate Ferry (GGF) will add service throughout the weekend on both the Larkspur and Sausalito routes, including late night trips on Friday from Larkspur, early morning and late night trips on Saturday and Sunday from Larkspur, and late night trips on Saturday and Sunday from Sausalito. In addition, the Giants Ferry will operate between Larkspur and AT&T Park, and Giants Ferry tickets will likely sell out early. Click here for GGF timetables.
CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER
The Golden Gate Customer Service Center will be open during the extended weekend closure for trip planning assistance. Hours will be 7am to 6pm on Friday, July 10; and 8am to 4pm on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 for phone calls only. Call 511 (say "Golden Gate Transit," then "operator" to bypass recorded messages)/TDD 711.
