*L*ady and Gentlemen, the 10th and final round of the CMS 2013 S1 World Le Mans series championship will take place at the exquisite *Potrero de los Funes *circuit!

The Lago Potrero de los Funes circuit is a race track originally constructed in 1987, and rebuilt in 2008. It is located 14 km (8.7 mi) from San Luis, capital city of the San Luis Province, Argentina. The circuit is semi-permanent, with a length of 6.27 km (3.90 mi). It was created by modifying the ring road that encircles Lake Potrero de los Funes, at the course's center.

The circuit has received very high praise from the drivers for its substantial undulations and numerous high speed corners and bends, which provide a great driving challenge.

The track's layout has changed slightly from its original layout. It appears that the curve prior to where the pits are now was tightened to create a more pronounced corner ahead of the pits, and perhaps to reduce speeds on the racing line going past the new pit exit. On the opposite side of the lake, where start/finish used to be located, a chicane has been added at the first high speed bend along that stretch. Also, on the initial descending run along the lake, there has been another chicane added to reduce speeds into the following corner that has limited run-off. Therefore, the original course had slightly shorter length of 6.186 km (3.844 mi).

Please make sure that you have read the briefing, have all the correct files installed, and most importantly join the practice server during the week and test that all is working properly *BEFORE* the race weekend starts. Once the race weekend starts no one will be able to help you in time for you to race, as they will be busy preparing their own race.

*Please be advised that new for this season the race server has been set to closed qually. *This means that once the server has moved to qually session drivers can not join the server until warmup. So I highly recommend that everyone arrive during practice, ensure that your game and connection are looking solid and if not leave and rejoin BEFORE the end of practice, because once qually has begun you will not be able to get back into the server until the warmup session. THe main benefit of this is guys trying to concentrate on getting a good qually lap will no longer be distracted by some guys constantly leaving and joining like a revolving door.

*NOTES:*

*1.* *Manual rolling start procedure:*

*A.* At the green light the overall pole sitter will lead the grid *single file in qually order *at a speed not to exceed 100mph/160kph all the way around the track to the final corner. You may accelerate to racing speed as you exit the final corner but you may not overtake until you cross the start/finish line. Orange zone rules are in effect, see map for details.

*B.* Do not weave back and forth, abruptly speed up or slow down, or jam on the brakes in an attempt to warm your tires or brakes during the formation lap. This could easily cause an accident with another car.

*C.* Be advised that as the game places you on the grid the car directly in front of you is *NOT* the car that you qually behind. It would be the car ahead and in the opposite lane.

*D. *As the leader starts rolling you need to allow the car in the row ahead and in the opposite lane to "fall in" behind the car directly ahead to achieve single file in the proper qually order.

*E.* If you lose control on the formation lap, you MUST let all cars pass and rejoin at the end. The penalty for not doing this is a no qually/drive thru at your next event. If you cause an accident on the formation lap, you will be DQ'd from the race results, and will receive a no qually/drive thru at your next event.

*During the rolling start:*

*A.* The pole sitter should try to maintain a steady pace, slowing for tight turns as needed, but should not exceed 100mph/160kph in the straight sections.
*B.* Drivers should try to maintain a consistent "spacing" between themselves and the car ahead of them. *Appx 2 car lengths*.
*C.* Do not ride the rear bumper of the car ahead as he may suddenly slow and then you wouldn’t have time to avoid them.
*D.* There is to be no drastic acceleration, braking, or weaving side to side.
*E.* Do not allow yourself to fall back too far from the driver ahead. This is unfair to those behind you.
*F.* If for whatever reason you find yourself getting way behind the car ahead, speed up to catch them. The 100mph/160kph limit is for the pole sitter. You may exceed that to close the gap, (Carefully).
*G.* It is not vital that the "classes" stay tightly grouped. ie, PC close behind P2, GT2 close behind PC. Each class is running its own race. You are not racing each other.

*2. Acceleration point:*

While technically turn 23 is the final bend on the track map, the pole sitter should begin acceleration coming off of turn 22. Remember, no passing till you cross the start/finish line.

*Practice server now running for Potrero de los Funes!*
