Kevin Durant’s free agency move to the Golden State Warriors created waves in the NBA community over the last month. Many stories have arisen surrounding the fallout between Durant and his former teammate and good friend, Russell Westbrook.

According to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Westbrook is blocking out all exterior noise for the timing being, and he appears focused on moving forward without the four-time scoring champion:

"No nostalgia, no reflection and no regret: In Westbrook’s world, Durant had been deleted like his old teammate’s text message saying goodbye on the way to Golden State."

Durant previously admitted that because of his departure, his relationship with Westbrook "won't ever be the same." Westbrook deleting his farewell text is a sign that Durant is considered as a part of the past to him.

Westbrook recently agreed to a three-year renegotiation extension with the Thunder, following suggestions that management may be forced to trade the former UCLA product in order to avoid losing another star in exchange for nothing.

Fans around the world will be keeping a close eye on the release date for the upcoming season’s schedule, as it is sure to be an interesting event when Durant plays against his former team, especially in OKC.

With Durant gone, the keys to the Thunder's metaphorical car are in the hands of Westbrook. With his dynamic style that relies on his supreme athleticism, anything can happen. Russ is on a mission, and it's going to be fun to watch.
