This 2002 silver 5-speed AWD WRX Wagon has only 2,200 documented original miles since new, when it was driven off road and the oil cooler was damaged, allowing the motor to run without oil which resulted in a serious rod knock.

Due to the cost of a new factory replacement engine in 2002, the car was declared a total loss by the insurance company and was sold off to a wholesale dealer with a salvage title. It never suffered any collision damage or repair.

The car was stored indoors until I purchased it in 2012, when a 2004 short block was procured and given a stock rebuild and upgraded with ARP head studs and Mahle pistons. The car was also given a beautiful brand new factory silver paint job this year and was only driven about 200-300 miles, when the current motor developed a rod knock and was parked. The car is currently registered, recently passed smog, was given a 4-wheel alignment and appears brand new inside and out. Truly immaculate. It is completely stock with the exception of aftermarket sway bars front and rear, and a brand new high-dollar Pioneer double DIN touch screen stereo with less than an hour of use. And roof rack yet to be attached, sitting in trunk.

It is just sitting there in my driveway under its car cover, and I am not going to go through another motor rebuild, so just install your motor and you will have a brand new WRX Wagon...... truly rare find, and difficult to assess a value -- $6000 obo. Prefer $, but will consider trades, particularly for a Collector Car, Corvette, Classic, Muscle Car or ? No Projects.

Car is in San Marcos/Escondido area of North San Diego County.
