So I've started doing some upgraded to my 06 wrx tr (cobb intake 3 inch turbo back and downpipe) and i have plans to do more work in the future. I'm familiar with the AP but I don't think it is a good fit for me. I was looking at the tactrix cable and its associated software when I came across this on amazon.

its about 60 bucks cheaper and gets great reviews but I don't know if it is going to be able to do all the things i want. My car has about 110k miles on it so the extra diagnostic capabilities seems like an added bonus. I would love some advice or alternate suggestions.
