Hey Everyone,

This week’s Club Penguin Discussion is all about Club Penguin Parties. Parties make Club Penguin. CP would be nothing it is today without it’s parties. CP throws a island wide party at least once a month. However, since May, they have been having 2 parties. One mini party, and one big party.

Let’s go back to 2010.

Club Penguin threw some really fun parties in 2010. The parties had a lot to do, compared to the more recent parties CP has thrown. For example, look at the 2010 Halloween Party. There was a Scavenger Hunt, a new area for penguins to explore, a mini quest, and MORE!

Another series of parties that all penguins seemed to like were the EPF Related ones. One of my favorites, the Battle of Doom was a hit. It was very interactive. Penguins had to work together to take down Herbert’s Hydra Bots. You don’t really see these types of elements being used anymore in recent Club Penguin Parties.

Perhaps one of the most unique and one of the only parties to have a storyline was Operation Blackout. That party was amazing. It had a very good storyline. Herbert basically took over Club Penguin and blocked out the sun with his Solar Laser. The room visuals looked amazing, and this party had a ton to do. You could meet Herbert for the FIRST time. Rookie was also meetable. There were cutscenes, short little mini games, suspense, thrill, and more. The rooms around the island also got darker by the week. This party may be one of Club Penguin’s BEST parties ever.

When was the last time you saw a party this awesome? I don’t recall any recent party to have such a deep storyline, and a lot of content… Do you?

Another awesome feature that Club Penguin seemed to drop for absolutely no reason, are the Scavenger Hunts. At some parties in the past, Club Penguin had a Scavenger Hunt as a party activity. Penguins would search the island and try to find the missing pieces. When the player found all the items, they would receive a reward.

The last Scavenger Hunt Club Penguin had was in 2012. Can you believe that? It’s been over TWO years since Club Penguin last had a Scavenger Hunt. You can read more about this awesome feature at Gpumpkin’s Blog by clicking here.

Let’s fast forward to 2013.

Club Penguin’s Parties in 2013 started to lack something essional. CONTENT.

Prehistoric Party 2013. All there was to do was play a game called Dino Dig. This game was not unique at all, and was basically a complete copy of Treasure Hunt. All you did was find Eggs. You could transform into a Dinosaur and walk around. This was “cool” for the first 20 minutes? There were different Dinosaurs you could transform into, but besides from that, and collecting a few items, that was it. Poof. Done. There was nothing more to do. This party lasted for 2 weeks.

Club Penguin had a few good parties in 2013. Some worth mentioning are,

In mid 2013, Club Penguin started to use a method which in my opinion, was a very bad decision. During a party, CP would give you a task. These tasks are EXTREMELY short, and very easy. Club Penguin would also hold the parties content, until a future date. Are they doing this because if the player did everything in one day, it would take them 20 minutes and then be completely done with the party? Could CP be doing this to force you to log on and complete the task to “try” to not let the party become boring?

For example, during the Medieval Party 2013, you had to mix ingredients though a mini game. It took about 2 minutes to do the task. After you did that, you could transform into something. Besides from that, and the party catalog, there was NOTHING else to do. Club Penguin ruined a party with a very good reputation. There were no Knight Quests, or anything.

Club Penguin used this method for a BUNCH of parties. Take a look.

Club Penguin is re-using the same basic idea for a TON of parties. They might tweak it a little, but if you think about it, it’s the same concept. They give you a 2 minute task, you do it, get the item, done. Club Penguin really has to think of new party ideas, or bring back the old ones. More interactive in-game content was a hit. The Knight Quests, the EPF missions, ect. Club Penguin also needs to include a STORYLINE. That element right there is what made Operation Blackout such a success.

So there you have it. In my opinion, I think Club Penguin needs to think about how they make their parties. They are repeating their methods over and over. The whole “Task and Get Item system” has got to GO, and the interactive in-game stuff like the Knight Quests, EPF Missions, and STORYLINE has to come back in.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Club Penguin, but I think they have to change. For the better.

As Spike Hike says, Club Penguin is OUR game. If he means what he says, then Club Penguin should listen to us and use our ideas in-game.
