The First Shift Production Team Lead will directly interact, coach, lead and instruct/train associates on daily operational activities through the establishment of high expectations of performance. Provide timely feedback and coaching to individuals and team in order to develop them to their full potential and to achieve objectives in accordance with Nestlé Continuous Excellence guidelines.
Ensure succession plans and development - coaching of direct reports (where applicable) including development of specific training.
Ensure daily operations activities and assignments are met in order to meet production schedules, satisfy quality control, sanitation and safety standards on assigned shift. Accountable for overall facility activities and associates on assigned shift or hours including maintenance and store associates.
Promote positive employee relations through the exercise of positive and proactive human relations skills while adhering to consistency within SOP’s, policies and past practice.
Interact with staff associates on projects and operations planning. Study and investigate areas for improvement in quality, productivity, cost reduction efforts, job grade classification studies, method improvements, etc.
Maintain appropriate logs and documentation of shift operations; prepare daily time sheets of hourly employees, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attain all defined factory KPI’s to include, but not limited to HAACP, efficiency, performance, material, labor and utility usage, quality, sanitation and system performance, Nestle Quality Management System, etc.
Attend and lead the Daily Operations Review Meeting (DOR), WOR & MOR through review of KPI’s, action planning to root cause and assuring resources are available for GSTD, BDA completion in a timely manner.
Provide continuous development of associates via coaching, mentoring, and training for while utilizing the GROW coaching tool and concepts.
Properly deploy and utilize manpower with strict adherence to management of work hours via observance of overtime and days worked frequency.
Complete daily schedule requirements and coordinate communication with appropriate departments on all issues.
Complete CPAR (Corrective Preventive Action request) incidents and actions reports. And assure completion of corrective actions as necessary.
Complete timely all SAP/MES transactions and review/action plan against health checks for SAP.
Oversee shift audit activity and also complete safety, Shift Handover, quality and safety audits.
Manage SHO boards via proper review of activities and shift review by Supervisory Support for escalated issues.
Perform corrective action coaching as needed and conduct thorough investigations as needed.
Be highly proactive in safety activities, teams and related programs in order to promote and ensure associates are provided a safe working environment.
Establish and maintain high standards and expectations that are confirmed through continuous audit and validation.
Work with technical training group to outline the continuous training goals for shift employees.
Manage manpower requirements throughout the plant in order to maintain the flow of product from production to packaging via floor interaction assuring activity compliance.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly & annual performance documentation. Deliver effective performance evaluations to employees.
Review all administrative tasks on shift and provide corrective action counseling when required.
Completion timely compliance documentation for QA & Assure all related factory.
Assume other duties as assigned by the Factory Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree Required. Operations Management or related preferred.
Demonstrated operations management experience in a factory operations leadership/ supervisory role managing team(s) of employees across multiple shifts running operations.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of process automation and heat process technology a plus.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated experience interacting, coaching and leading diverse groups of people in a team environment.
Basic knowledge of HR principles to include FMLA, investigation management, Kronos/timekeeping systems, coaching, employee relations and legal requirements.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in safety & quality programs/practices and standards.
Demonstrated experience in organizational change management and coaching techniques. Additionally, the ability to adapt to change on a variety of issues quickly while leading with a proactive and positive mindset.
Possess analytical problem-solving skills, and ability to manage tactical applications while being able to focus strategically.
Strong systems capability in the use of various manufacturing systems. Understanding of Microsoft Office and related software. (SAP a plus)
Demonstrated experience in TPM and LEAN principles preferred.
