MORE than just a grand bridal fair, the event dubbed “Wedding Destination: Pampanga” is a showcase of talent and artistry of more than 70 wedding suppliers who joined the three-day event held at SM City Clark last July 26 to 28.
This 5th “Wedding Destination-Pampanga” was successfully organized by Events and Concepts, led by its energetic owner, Voltaire Zalamea. This fair has been successful year after year, measured through its increasing bridal bookings and more prime wedding suppliers have showed interest to join and create their own marks during the event. It is a known fact that Pampanga has already become a favorite for couples-to-be who want to celebrate their wedding vows and make their honeymoon tour more memorable, another big reason for the event’s success.
Home to old churches, historical events, beautiful resorts, hotels and restaurants, Pampanga is an excellent wedding destination north of Metro Manila, as the Department of Tourism-Central Luzon Director Ronnie Tiotuico boasts about. The province is also home to world-class cooks, designers, couturiers, photographers, wedding planners, and other experts in various support services.
“Wedding Destination: Pampanga” was participated by the region’s best wedding suppliers, planners, fashion designers and couturiers, culinary experts, florists, caterers, videographers, photographers, events stylists, entertainment artists, printers, jewelers, cake artists, lights and sound providers, photo booths suppliers, travel agents, tour operators, and a whole lot more. For interested visitors, huge discounts were availed. Everyone got a bridal directory. All wedding suppliers have created their own booths, friendly and informative, to visitors and to soon-to-wed couples. Manned by their owners, sales executives and PR men, guests who went around the three-rowed bridal fair at SM City Clark surely never left empty-handed. There was a lot of free “cake sampling” like cheesecakes, brownies, colorful cupcakes; giveaways, fans… truly a feast of the eyes and stomach!
Going around the bridal fair. I got to sample Uni-Chef’s pistachio mousse in disposable yet biodegradable cute container and spoon. With an impressive set-up for a three-day event, Nikki Wilkerson, the young pretty woman behind the company’s innovation, branding and extensive marketing, has already put me into mood and excitement during that brief conversation. She just gave me a preview of what Uni-Chef’s Catering is into these days. Active, creative!
Some other deserving women caught my fancy at the bridal fair. Women empowerment. This is what I felt when I got to tete-a-tete with a lady photographer Michelle Pineda who, like all artists I know, remained simple and stayed close to her creative artworks, in her case, her photographs. This also goes to Judy Uson, who have named herself, for what she really is basing from her well-designed cakes, Cake Artist.
I chanced upon MAK Couture who is owned by youthful looking Mak Tumang. His looks spells young, fresh blood in terms of fashion designing. I learned that he happens to be the son of my long time client, Sir Teddy. He started theater production designing and armed with his artistic genes, he furthered into fashion designing. He was a mentee of designer Frederick Peralta (another wedding supplier in this bridal event), a big name in the fashion industry.
Classic printer Milestones have literally built a “store” in the three-day event. Looked like a sturdy shop to me, Milestones, a sister company of AdWorks, had invitations, giveaways, cakes, and cupcakes displayed on their racks. Managed and owned by Jepoy and Bea Cruz, Milestones offers a complete line-up of freshly-baked designs of invitations, stationeries, stickers, photo booths, photo shoots, and a whole lot more! Paparazzo by Jeffrey Cruz offers photography services, too for companies and personal bookings.

Pancho Pineda Pantig, an ace florist, is an old client who is into floral arrangements and now an events stylist, too! “Plumeria” has been known for designs and arrangements for years.
More familiar faces in the bridal fair! Sheryl Meneses welcomed me from Widus Resort and Casino Clark stall at the fair. Sheryl is a long time client from another hotel (before) and through the years, has retained her beauty and figure (good for her!) As I stepped into A La Crème Bakeshop booth, apart from smelling sweet, the cakes looked superb and delicious! Years ago, I had the chance to meet the owner of A la Crème Cakeshop, who is a forever beauty. Cecille Bangsil Mendoza, then was a younger woman who had big passion for bread and cake-making. With inspiration from her folks from Magalang and the artist in her for making creatively-designed cakes, she ventured into the world of sweets and desserts, thus A La Crème was born.
More suppliers gave a weekender excitement especially to soon-to-wed couples and visitors (like me!)
