The most anticipated basketball season in Cavaliers history tips off with Opening Night presented by Kenda Tires on Thursday, October 30th at 8:00 p.m., as the Cavs host the New York Knicks at Quicken Loans Arena for a nationally televised game on TNT.

Many Wine & Gold memories will be made on this special night as the 2014-15 season tips off at The Q. It all begins with a Cavs Magnet Schedule presented by Kenda Tires for every fan when they enter the arena. At their seats, fans will find their own Cavaliers Light-Up Baton, a navy Cavs T-Shirt presented by Cleveland Clinic and a LeBron James Nike Poster Giveway. The navy Cavs t-shirt gives a nod to the new alternate navy uniforms that the team will debut that night.

WHAT’S NEW AT THE Q

The Cavs raise the bar on the fan experience for the 2014-15 season from great to AMAZING! Game days will sport a fresh new look with updated cutting-edge technology.

“HUMONGOTRON”. Quicken Loans Arena’s brand new HD scoreboard, the largest in any arena in the country, will be ready to fire up its flaming sabers for the first game of the season. The four-sided, center-hung scoreboard has four enormous HD video screens that are tilted and uniquely curved to provide optimal viewing angles for all fans whether they are seated in the front row on the floor, or in the upper level in Loudville.

Brilliant. The Q will be illuminated with a grand total of more than 11,682 square feet of new LED displays in the arena’s seating bowl and concourses. The four corner boards and 360-degree fascia ribbon in the seating area, along with signage on the concourses have all been updated with high resolution LED technology.

Crystal Clear. Fans will hear the DIFF with a new sound system that replicates touring concert technology. Features include advanced audio digital processing, six line array speaker clusters and additional speakers under the scoreboard for cutting-edge sound clarity.

THE BEST GAME PRESENTATION IN THE NATION

The official tipoff of the 2014-15 Cavaliers season will be a night to remember.

Kenda Tires Opening Night Fancam! Say “Go Cavs!” for a 360-degree photo of the Opening Night crowd that will be taken during player warm-ups. Fancam technology will be used to snap a high-definition, 360-degree photo that captures the crowd from Loudville all the way down to courtside seats. It’s uploaded to a cavs.com/fancam where fans can tag themselves and share on social media.

National Anthem – Eight-time Grammy Award winner, Usher, will sing the Star-Spangled Banner.

The Wow-O-Meter will reach 10 when the home court transforms into a canvas to display high-impact 3-D court projections of Cavs-inspired, adrenaline-pumping imagery during player introductions. Quince Imaging’s ground-breaking image projection technology will be an integral part of the Cavs award-winning game presentation throughout the season.

Halftime art by The 3 Painters will amaze the crowd by transforming blank canvases into larger-than-life Cavalier tributes in mere minutes! They’ll paint to a musical performance by the talented Biff Gore and Tess Boyer from “Team Usher” on NBC’s The Voice.

Downtown Cleveland will be lit up as the backdrop to a citywide celebration to tipoff a new era of Cavaliers basketball!

Cavs and TNT Host Concert and Watch Party

Free Event Begins at 4:00 p.m.

TNT and the Cavaliers will host a FREE fan event directly across the street from The Q in the Huron (Stark) surface parking lot. The festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. with performances from the Cavalier Girls dance team, Scream Team dance troupe and more! During the event, comedian Kevin Hart will make a special guest appearance and hip-hop recording artist Kendrick Lamar will perform, followed by platinum-selling rock band Imagine Dragons! Turner Sports will feature footage from the event and both musical performances, which are presented by the Samsung GALAXY Note 4, during the hour-long TNT NBA Tip-Off presented by AutoTrader pre-game show that airs at 7:00 p.m. ET before the start of the Cavs vs. New York Knicks game at 8:00 p.m. Once the game begins, the event will transform into a giant viewing party with the TNT broadcast featured on massive video boards!

Several local food trucks will be onsite to keep hunger satisfied. Fans can purchase food from B&M BBQ, Barrio Tacos, Donut Lab, Sterle’s Country House Truck, Swenson’s, 216 Bistro and Touch Supper Truck.

NIKE BASKETBALL CELEBRATES LEBRON’S HOMECOMING

Complementary fan experience 4pm-10pm

Fans are invited to join Nike Basketball in welcoming LeBron James back to Cleveland with the first home game of the season. The day kicks off with the unveiling of the 10-story Stronger Together banner featuring LeBron James adjacent to the arena. Fans can document their personal celebration of LeBron’s homecoming starting at 4:00p.m. with a 360 digital experience that will capture content on their mobile devises. Music will help set the tone of the pre-game excitement and giveaways will be available while supplies last. The event will be held on the corner of Ontario and Huron, directly across the street from The Q.

Cavs Official Watch Parties

EVERYONE is invited to be a part of the fun and energy of the Cavs opening night!

The Cavaliers are partnering with 40+ local bars and restaurants to host “Official Watch Parties” throughout Cleveland! Between 6:00 p.m.- 9:30 p.m., the Cavs Official Watch Party Squad will interact with bar & restaurant patrons at each location with fun, fan-engaging contesting, giveaways and more! The giveaways include 100 official “Opening Night” Cavs T-Shirts presented by Cleveland Clinic to distribute at each location—the very same shirt that fans attending the game at The Q will receive! This effort is generously supported by Hennessy, Belvedere and Grand Marnier! Wine & Gold Fans are encouraged to unite together, #AllForCLE!

Watch Parties in Akron and Canton

Fans to the South Join Together to Cheer on the Cavs!

The LeBron James Family Foundation will host a free Watch Party at Ray’s in Fairlawn. The address is 25 Ghent Road, Fairlawn OH. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.

The Canton Charge will host two free Watch Parties—one in Akron and one in Canton. Each goes from 7:00 pm-11:00 p.m.
