The aggressive beggars we’ve told you about throughout the past few weeks were in the Clayton Station Shopping Center on Tuesday afternoon and very early on Wednesday morning, according to several Claycordians.
The woman appears to be a different woman than the one we’ve recently seen around Claycord, but one of the two children looks the same.
An anonymous Claycordian, who also happens to be a private investigator, was sitting in his vehicle in the Clayton Station Shopping Center when he spotted the woman & children on Tuesday afternoon. He took a picture and when they walked away after a few minutes, he watched them walk from the area near Walgreen’s to the Clayton Valley Presbyterian Church parking lot behind Safeway, where they quickly got into a waiting van, driven by a man. The van then drove over Kirker Pass.
The Private Investigator also tells Claycord.com that he spotted many Claycordians giving money to the woman, whose sign says she just lost her job and has three children.
In the past few weeks, this group has been begging in the parking lots of Costco, Target (in Pleasant Hill), Safeway (Countrywood, Walnut Creek), Safeway (Clayton), Whole Foods (Walnut Creek) and again at the Safeway in Clayton.
All the members of this group of beggars seem to be from Romania. In June of last year, one of the women (not the one pictured above) was arrested at the Main Concord Post Office by the Concord Police, and she was allegedly on drugs at the time of her arrest. Her husband was also contacted, and they were both found with several hundred dollars on them at the time of the woman’s arrest.
Just a day after her arrest, another woman took her spot at the Main Post Office, she was also from Romania. The Police were called to make contact with her, but she was picked up by a man in the Home Depot parking lot before Police arrived.
Since then, dozens of different women with several different children have been spotted around our area, aggressively begging for money.
Almost every single time, the women are dropped off and picked up by an unknown male in a van.
