Description: The Teocali is very flexible because it can handle enduro, trail, all-mountain and even some free-ride, downhill or XC riding. This frame is a 2006 Elite and is sized small (425mm BB to top of seat tube) but it fits more like a medium. Mongoose only produced this frame for two years. I think the 2006/07 freedrive system frame is the best and most versatile version of the Teocali--it even has multiple mount points for the rear shock. It has a max travel of 11.2"or 285mm (140 front, 145 rear). The frame is a low-key "afterburner orange," and there are some cable rub spots and the chainstay has multiple paint dings but there are no dents or structural damage. Because of the quality of the frame, the MSRP of $1700 was a good deal for the "Elite" spec'd Teocali. However, upgrading the components, especially the fork and wheelset, takes this bike to an entirely different level of performance and value. I included the msrp of some of the component upgrades to show quality level (I'm not claiming to have paid msrp prices--I bought the parts from online discounters like Jensen and Cambria).

Fork: Rock Shox Revelation 409 Dual Air 130 UPGRADED TO MARZOCCHI BOMBER XC600 ATA2 w/100-140mm adjustable travel & remote lockout (used XC600s are now $200 to $300, msrp for the non-OEM version was $400 I believe)

• AZONIC OUTLAW(white), AZONIC convertible Hubs, w/Maxxis HiRollers (AM, FR, DH) w/75% tread (these wheels are true but look beat up, so -$100 off the price=$875)

The '06/07 frame geometry and suspension technology/rear linkage still gives cutting-edge performance. For example, it's favorably comparable to GT's new Independent Drivetrain AOS system (just another version of this type of complex multiple-pivot linkage). The main substantive criticism of this bike is its weight, but that is mostly component choice. With the upgraded components this bike weights less than stock, at around 28 lbs (with XC race tires). I am only selling because it has always been just too big for me--it really fits like other manufacturers' mediums. For less than $1K this is a great deal for an all-mountain beast. You could pay two or three times as much for a used Santa Cruz and you would not have a better bike (compare it with Santa Cruz Bronson/Hightower, Giant Trance/Reign, GT Force/Sanctionor/Sensor, Specialized Rumor/Rhyme/stumpjumper listings). If interested please e-mail or text/call. Thanks for looking.
