The college football regular season continues to wind down and so does the quest for this year’s Heisman Trophy as the nation’s top player. Looking at FastWager Paypal live mobile betting Sportsbooks updated prop bet odds to win this year’s award it has basically come down to a four-player race with one clear favorite.
The name at the top of the list is Alabama running back Derrick Henry as a -210 favorite to win the 2015 Heisman. He has been in the running all season long, but he took a big step towards being named college football’s top player of the year for his recent performance in the Crimson Tide’s convincing 30-16 victory against LSU on Nov. 7.
Henry rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 38 carries in that game. He may have sealed the deal this past Saturday in Alabama’s 31-6 romp over Mississippi State with 204 rushing yards and two scores on just 22 attempts for an average of 9.3 yards a carry.
There are a pair of +500 second-favorites on FastWager Paypal live mobile betting credit card online Sportsbooks board starting with Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. He has helped the Tigers win nine-straight games following an opening day loss to South Carolina with both his arm and his legs.
After throwing for 360 yards and two scores in this past Saturday’s 37-27 victory against Syracuse, Watson has now passed for 2,593 yards and 23 touchdowns while completing 70.1 percent of his 308 attempts. He has also added 598 yards and five scores on the ground in 108 rushing attempts.
The other +500 second-favorite is Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott. He is ranked third in the nation in total rushing yards with 1,425 and he is averaging 6.5 yards a carry. He had one of his best games in the past few weeks against Illinois this past Saturday with 181 yards and two touchdowns on 27 rushing attempts. He could be a sleeper pick with a couple of big performances in high-profile showdowns against Michigan State and Michigan in the Buckeyes’ final two regular season games.
The long-time favorite to win this year’s Heisman was LSU running back Leonard Fournette, but following that loss to Alabama his stock started to fall. The sophomore was held to just 31 yards on 19 carries in that game. The Tigers stumbled again this past Saturday in a stunning 31-14 loss to Arkansas in which Fournette gained 91 yards on 19 attempts. He still leads the nation in rushing with 1,474 yards but much of the value in his +600 prop bet odds to win the Heisman has been drained.
