Few months ago we have been contacted by the leading architecture firm NBBJ to provide them with interactive 3D presentations. After having received an exciting feedback from the NBBJ team we have asked them to explain, in their words, what’s the value that CL3VER presentations offer to architects and they’ve resumed it in this video:

Today we want to look into this topic a bit more, making some real examples and using the experience we have gained working with them.

Who is NBBJ?

For those that are not familiar with that name, NBBJ is a Seattle-based firm that has been named the architect of choice by worlds high-tech companies by Wired Magazine because the firm have been selected by Samsung, Amazon, Google, Alipay, Tencent and others to invent the future of their offices and new headquarters.

Amazon.com at Denny Triangle – Seattle, WA, USA

Samsung America Headquarters (DS) – San Jose, CA, USA

Alipay – Hangzhou, China

Critical current problems of Architectural Visualization

Current technologies and resources available for Architectural Visualization presents two main problems:

Image renders don’t allow the client to understand volumes and spaces of a building because limited to the 2 dimensions;

3D models require a plugin or a software to be viewed by the client and in most cases the architect prefer present the project at the client side. That means bringing a device with a 3D software installed and lots of travelling.

The value of CL3VER presentations by NBBJ team

EFFECTIVELY PRESENT YOUR PROJECT
“CL3VER has a very immersive experience so the end user gets it” – Ryan J. Mullenix, AIA Principal / Architect (IL)

Enabling clients navigate through the project in a 3D environment assure that they fully understand it. Misunderstanding are reduced to the minimum because they’re free to see the building from any angle.

SIMPLE AND EASY TO ACCESS
“Intuitive and easy accessible interface through something as simple as a web interface” – Sebastian Hernandez, Designer

CL3VER presentations are available on a simple URL so exploring a 3D scene is like visiting a web page. There is no need of plugins nor software to view the presentation, because the only things you need is a web browser. There is no more need to go to the client side to present a project because he is able to explore the project without any help and it can be sent via email, embedded on a website or shared vial social media.

EASY PROJECT NAVIGATION
“It allows our clients to control their own exploration in models and to discover a project on their own terms” – Sebastian Hernandez, Designer

CL3VER allows architects to script and choreograph their message in a much more specific way and that enable clients to have a fluid interchange with architects. Creating custom 3D virtual tours using intuitive buttons and including extra information such as images and videos, the client can explore the projects easily and on its own terms.

COLLABORATIVE
“It’s collaborative and enterprise” – Ryan J. Mullenix, AIA Principal / Architect (IL)

CL3VER it’s cloud based so it’s available anytime, anywhere from any device. It allow enterprises to share projects and workspaces, speeding up the production workflow by edit and modify presentations in real time.

SCALABLE
“It’s scalable so we can work at a small level of detail, all the way to the large scale ideas for urban or city planning” – Christine Cangelosi, Designer, LEED® AP BD+C

CL3VER platform is scalable and flexible so it can be used by anyone in the architecture industry, from one man company creating projects for residential houses up to leading enterprises dealing with buildings and urban and city planning.

USEFUL ALONG THE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT WORKFLOW
“It’s dependent so we can use it in conceptual design and then use it as a tool to help our clients to move into their spaces” – Christine Cangelosi, Designer, LEED® AP BD+C

CL3VER is a useful tool along the entire workflow, from conceptual design to communicate the design intent, to when people move in to help them find departments, offices, facilities, etc.
