PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE POST! I know it’s really, REALLY long, and I’m sorry, but I’ve participated in many PKMN RPs and I have seen some stuff. Almost every single rule on this page is in response to problems I’ve seen in other RPs (and even things I have been guilty of in the past). I intend to enforce all of the rules. Anyone whose character sheet breaks any rules will not be allowed in until the errors have been fixed (and I won’t tell you what they are, you’ll have to read) and anyone who breaks 3 rules over the course of the RP will be kicked out. I’m super cereal, guys. Also, I worked hard on the plot, so please read it.
Plot:
“Greetings all,” a man in a black suit stood atop a stage behind a podium overlooking the throng of people before him. The gathered crowd had, of their own accord, separated themselves into five groups each denoted by the uniforms they wore. “I believe most of you are aware of who I am, though for those who don’t: I am Giovanni, leader of Team Rocket, and this is our underground base. When I say ‘our’ I do not mean just ‘Team Rocket’s’; I mean all of ours, yours too. Why am I opening Team Rocket’s doors to you all? Because Team Rocket as we all know it is no more.”
There were gasps from the crows and murmurs of disbelief. Most came from the corner of the room where those dressed in black with large red “R”s on their shirts stood.
“Why are you surprised?” Giovanni went on. “This is not new information. The same is true for all of your teams. Our tragic tales are all the same: we have lost the will to continue after our grand ambitions have been thwarted by a single child. Some of you were defeated by the same child.” He glanced at opposite ends of the room where those dressed in red and those dressed in blue stood, as far from the other group as possible. “Some, like our own team, were defeated twice by two different children.” His eyes sought out the other team dressed in black with masks over their mouths, whose expressions still bore the scars of defeat.
“Was your point just to bring us all here and open new wounds?” demanded a man with spikey blue hair. He, and the team behind him, wore what appeared to be, a white space suit.
“Far from it,” Giovanni replied. “The specifics of our goals may differ, but in the end we all desire one thing: control. If we can control the people, we can have whatever we desire.”
“We tried that already,” a green-haired man in a black cloak grumbled. “We tried to steal their hearts and manipulate their feelings. Then we also tried intimidation. Neither worked.”
“Through no fault of your own, Sage Ghetsis.” Giovanni said. “Your puppet became a real boy and that same puppet returned to thwart your plan again.”
“What’s your point?” Ghetsis asked.
“My point is simple; we have all proven weak in our own endeavors in our own regions on our own. Yet the potential is there. I propose a unity of our teams.”
“No way!” the red and blue teams were the first to respond.
“Giovanni, sir,” a red-haired man adjusted his glasses as he stepped forward from the red team. “Your offer makes sense and it would be in all of our best interest. However, we of Team Magma cannot work with those lowly misguided fools of Team Aqua.”
“You’ve some nerve to call us misguided!” a bearded man emerged from Team Aqua. “You are idiotic enough to actually believe that the land should be increased. Think of the water pokémon!”
“And abandon the pokémon of the land for whom you have no concern?” Team Magma’s leader retorted.
“Who would lead this new unity?” the man in the space suit asked over the Hoenn teams’ continued squabbling. “Surely you don’t think you can subjugate us all to your rule.”
“I do not and I do not expect you to,” Giovanni remained calm despite the obvious taunt. “I propose a conglomerate ruled, in equal shares, by those of us who already command our own teams. No one person could hope to control such diverse lands as it stands, but if each of us were to have dominion over a region we could exercise power without subjugating any other members.”
“How is that any different than how it already is?” Ghetsis demanded.
“Because we will be united. Our teams may appear to act independently, as in the past, but we are part of something much larger, a conglomerate. We will aide each other when needed.”
“That’s all well and good,” the leader of Team Magma said, “but that doesn’t solve our problem. In case you are unaware, we hail from the same region.”
“I am aware, Maxie. Are you aware that my grunts roam freely among two regions? Would you expect me to rule both of them? That is unfair and a more difficult task. Therefore, Maxie, I would give the region of Johto to you and Team Magma.”
“What?! Do you intend for us to simply abandon our home region?! Why should we have to be the ones to vacate Hoenn? Why not have the fools of Team Aqua travel?”
“Who are you calling ‘fools,’ nerd!?”
“Your inability to discern your own answer proves my point.”
“Enough!” Giovanni silenced their squabbling. Johto, like its sister region Kanto, is connected to a large mass of land, unlike the many island regions. I believe that a region surrounded mostly by land would better suit you, just as Team Aqua is more suited to the island region of Hoenn. I have taken your goals into consideration and arranged this to make it easier for you both.”
Maxie cast his gaze downward. He could not deny the logic in the statement, but he was still not happy about the decision.
“I believe you are forgetting something.”
“What’s that, Cyrus?”
“You are forgetting someone,” a female voice carried over the crowd from the back of the large auditorium. The gathered teams turned to see a group of men and women in red orange suits and matching sunglasses. Leading them was a pink-haired woman in a sleeveless black turtleneck and black and red pants. “Thanks for the invite, Giovanni.” The woman’s tone was dripping with sarcasm like venom.
“Team Flare!” Ghetsis took up a defensive stance. “What are they doing here?”
“Same as you.” The woman scoffed. “We have our informants all over the six regions. It was only a matter of time until we found this little meeting.”
“But you tried to destroy the world!”
“I believe we’re not alone in that endeavor,” the woman’s gaze fell upon the blue-haired leader of Team Galactic. “If I recall, the blunders of those in Hoenn also were going to destroy the world.”
“Malva,” Giovanni addressed the woman. “What is your goal?”
“Oh, we just want to kill everyone in the world that’s not Team Flare.” She tilted her head and displayed a gleeful smile.
Gasps erupted from the gathered teams.
“At least that’s what our former leader would have said. But he is no longer with us.”
“I will ask again; what is your goal?”
“Still roughly the same, I suppose. We pursue a beautiful and perfect world and imperfections must be eliminated. But, I believe a more subtle approach is necessary. For now we need to seize power in Kalos.”
“Very well,” Giovanni said, much to the others’ surprise. “If you provide your aide when needed, we shall do likewise. However, be warned, if you decide to turn against the team, we will eliminate you,”
“Of course, sir,” Malva replied.
“That goes for everyone. Each region is to remain separate and no one is to interfere in another region’s affairs unless asked.”
“Now then,” Cyrus spoke up once more. “There is still the subject of pokémon battles. They are the basis of power and respect in our world, regardless of the beliefs of some people.” He shot a look of contempt at Ghetsis.
“We of Neo Team Plasma have abandoned that philosophy. It was only used as a ploy to win the hearts of the people and control them.”
“That’s what you say now that it has failed,” Cyrus sneered.
“Cyrus, what were you saying about battles? I believe I know where you are going with this, but I will let you speak.”
“We lost previously because we were not able to defeat a child in a Pokémon battle. The reason why this keeps happening is because children who embark on Pokémon journeys have nothing better to do than train their Pokémon to higher levels. In order to compete with that, we would have to continue to train ourselves and our grunts in Pokémon battles, a meaningless and time-consuming endeavor if I do say so myself. Is that what you thought I was going to say?”
“It is along the same lines. I, too, have thought of this, and I have already come up with a solution. You are not the only teams I have called here; there are two others. They both hail from lesser-known regions that are part of the mainland on which Kanto and Johto reside. They will help us with our goals…”

“Breaking news! The police forces have all been attacked all at once! All of the law enforcement headquarters of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos have all been raided simultaneously! The culprits appear to be the usual suspects: those evil crime syndicate teams. What we thought was all a thing of the past seems to have come back to haunt us. But they were taken down by kids, surely our entire police force could…. Hold on, I’m getting something….. what? A….are you sure?! B…but that’s… This just in, it appears that the bad guys are…winning. Little is known about just what is going on down there, but reports say that the Pokémon that are attacking are more powerful than anything we’ve ever seen from their species. And they’re not afraid to go after people with or without their trainers’ commands! The police’s Pokémon are all showing signs of fatigue and lethargy as well. It is as if they have no will to fight as is! Oh, it seems that Jubilife TV of Sinnoh has gotten one of their field reporters into the police headquarters. We’re going live to them!”
“This is Roxi of Jubilife TV reporting to you live from the Sinnoh police headquarters. Team Galactic is back! And they’re attacking the police with devastating force. It seems they’re not the only ones, as the other teams have returned and are also targeting the police. It’s almost as if this was planned and coordinated. Their Pokémon are also scary strong. They’re taking down everything the Jennys can throw at them and then going for the officers themselves! I’ve never seen anything like this! I’m afraid for my own safety! Not only that, but every Pokémon the officers send out look rather down and bored and just plain lazy. I don’t know what’s going on, but this is all too much to be a coincidence. Oh, and here come the gym leaders! Finally some reinforcements! And Cynthia the champion is here too with the Elite 4! Alright! It looks like Team Galactic’s luck has finally run out!”

It’s been five years since the law enforcement system fell. Even with the help of every powerful trainer the world ever knew, nothing could stop them. Even the children who had beaten them so long ago, even Red who has always been revered as the world’s strongest trainer, none were a match for Team Accord. With every trainer of note having been defeated by this new unified team, the world sunk into chaos and fear. Giovanni then took the national stage and explained that there was no need to be alarmed. Team Accord was simply taking over their government and law enforcement. Now the streets are filled with grunts patrolling with their incredibly strong and violent Pokémon and doing whatever they please. In Kanto, Giovanni uses the gyms as training and recruitment facilities and they are headed by his admins. He has also set up game corners in every town and set up a mafia state. In Johto, Maxie left things pretty much as they were while he traveled to Hoenn and sought out Groudon. He has since captured Groudon and began in Olivine where he paved Route 40 with land. He also connected Cianwood to the Ilex Forest, creating a large lake. Now he is moving from Azalea Town, the southernmost point of Johto, out into the sea in an attempt to reach Hoenn, which he still wants to cover with land. Archie has taken a similar course of action with Hoenn. After capturing and shadow-fying kyogre, he flooded all land routes of Hoenn and most of Fortree City (although the houses are all still there because none of them were on the ground. Floods and tidal waves ravage the region as Team Aqua attempts to submerge most of the region. Rayquaza has awakened and is acting on its own to keep things habitable for both people and pokémon, but when Kyogre arrives, its power is too much for the dragon, and it is forced back into the. Team Galactic also pursued their legendary Pokémon, but have since been unsuccessful. Dialga and Palkia reside in their respective rifts in time and space and Giratina has sheltered the lake guardians in the Reverse World. Only Cresselia, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Manaphy remained in their respective domains unperturbed by Galactic. Almost all of Galactic’s power and efforts are funneled into attempting to find a way into the legendaries’ hiding places. Otherwise, only bored grunts roam the streets of Sinnoh causing trouble to keep themselves occupied. Team Plasma has turned Unova into a dystopian wasteland. They forced the release of all captured Pokémon and the sale of pokéballs was banned. They began to industrialize the entire region and pave all the routes. Most Pokémon were driven from their habitats. Only Team Plasma had Pokémon of their own, and used them to oppress and attack the people, imposing a reign of terror and power. In Kalos, Malva is coordinating the systematic annihilation of everything she and the rest of Team Flare does not consider “beautiful.” Many poison-type pokémon are being targeted. The residents of Kalos are fleeing for their life. Malva is accepting of their escape, believing that they are not fit for her new world and that she doesn’t want them in the region anyway. Xerneas is doing what it can to revive those that have fallen. Team Flare has attempted to capture the life-giving pokémon and its counterpart Yveltal, but have since been unsuccessful.
People around the world have given up hope on things ever returning to normal. Any revolts that rose up were swiftly squashed and it was made very clear that the power that Team Accord held was unmatched by any amount of people. Those who still sought some semblance of an adventure or journey moved to Johto and Sinnoh where life was about as normal as it could ever be. Every town had grunts running around doing whatever they wanted and threatening people with their superior Pokémon, but so long as one stayed out of their way, things were fine. Those two regions became the perfect breeding ground for hope, dreams, independence, and a thirst for a better tomorrow. And it would be from here that a revolution would spring up. Much like the crime syndicates of the past, a new movement would begin in secret and reach out to the whole world.
Rules:
Basic forum and RP rules apply
No godmodding
No autohitting.
You can’t dodge every attack.
While in a battle, only one attack per pokémon per post. This is to give your opponent a chance to reply, Pokémon is turn-based, after all. (but dodging doesn’t use a turn)
You may not have a legendary for any reason at all ever.
This RP essentially takes place within the Pokémon Adventures Manga meaning we’re using that cannon and those physics (such as transparent pokéballs, battles making use of the terrain and a pokémon’s natural abilities, Gym Leaders used to be part of Team Rocket, ect)
You are allowed to RP as any character from any pokémon cannon ever (ie manga, games, anime, ect. Basically if they were ever in pokémon you can claim them.) I will list characters as they are claimed.
Your trainer may be from any region, but if they are from Unova, they’re going to have to have escaped somehow with their pokémon.
Unova Pokémon are very rare and almost extinct because of what Ghetsis has done. If you want to have any Unova Pokémon, you’ll need a reason to have obtained it. A believable reason.
Keep in mind that we’re dealing with big time evil crime bosses that have complete control over a region, so one does not simply board the next ferry to Johto casually smuggling their pokéballs out, for example.
You may be from a crime syndicate. You can be a currently serving member or an ex-member.
Any and all unique knowledge, skills, and equipment that your character has must be explained in a logical fashion in your character's form somehwere or else it cannot apply in the RP (ex. knowing about shadow pokemon, being able to talk to pokémon)
Hidden abilities are allowed, but it needs to be taken into account where and how those pokemon with those abilities are obtained.
All posts made within the context of the RP should have meaning, in other words please don’t just post “Name: ….” Or something like “Character Name was silent” or some sort of meaningless action.
Pokémon can only be their natural colors (normal or shiny) and can only possess their natural abilities and moves as stated in some form of pokémon cannon. Abnormal or unique pokémon (such as Red’s eevee, or the pink butterfree) may be cannon, but they are special and your character cannot have one like it. (This includes event pokémon like Pikachu with Sing) However, Surfing and Flying Pikachu are allowed so long as they originate from the Johto region (because that’s where you can get one in the wild)
If you have read and agree to these rules, put “I have read and agree to the terms and conditions” above your character sheet. This is, obviously, you agreeing to follow the rules and agreeing to the three-strike rule. If there’s something you don’t agree with, let me know and I can explain it and we can have a discussion about it. And who knows? I may change something.
Character Form
I know this form is INCREDIBLY long, but I would like as much info on your character as possible. Remember that anything not stated in the form cannot be used (so, if you forget to list one of your PKMN’s moves, or hold item they don’t have it). Sheets may be updated as events occur (of a new move is learned or a PKMN is switched out, or you remember something you forgot) but the update must be approved.
