This belongs to friend of mine, but he has given me possession of it in order to sell it for him and because I own one myself, so I have plenty knowledge and experience of the kit that I can share. He's a family man and doesn't have the time that I have. I'll be writing this ad with consideration that not everybody knows about the kit so apologies for that. Many more photos and videos will be added once approved

This is of course, a bolt on supercharger kit designed for the Civic Si/FN2 requiring "no major modifications" - quoted from H-tune and CPL site! Many have chosen to install the kit themselves, but I didn't as it's beyond my ability, but that's because i'm useless when it comes to any kind of mechanical DIY work. To those who are competent it can be installed, or a garage might charge 10 hours labour at a guess? It's by no means a new and untested kit, there's probably been around 10 of these fitted just by forum members alone in the last few years. The price of the kit is on H-Tune over £3900 BRAND NEW. , Actually just under £4000 because this is the stage 2 kit with a 3.15" pulley and far superior injectors, better than those included in the H-tune kit. Please see this link to verify the RRP and read some more info and pics of the kit itself

Considering this is £4000 brand new, and because it has only covered around 1,500 miles since being purchased brand new, the price I have been asked to list this kit for is £2,290 firm, with no offers for the time being. Boosting an FN2 is a fairly big commitment but at this good value, it's only a matter of time before somebody makes the decision and snaps this up, so I am not in any rush and will not accept £2000 or silly offers. £2000 isn't far off what it costs to get an FN2 NA up to 240bhp anyway. This price of £2290 includes uprated 1000cc Grams injectors which alone cost an extra £500+ brand new. I could possibly consider splitting the injectors if a member had their own, but OEM injectors are not sufficient for the stage 2 kit to perform properly and a link to the grams injectors can be provided if requested.

The FN2 is a great platform and many of us have dreamed of supercharging or turbocharging our FN2s but for most of us, we simply cannot justify or cannot afford to spend £4,000 for a supercharger, or £6000-£8000 for a turbo charger. I didn't buy my own kit brand new and I never would have done even though I can afford it. This is without doubt a rare and unique opportunity to grab a bargain and supercharge your FN2 for around half the cost compared to buying brand new. As stated, the blower itself has only covered around 1500 miles so it functions as new anyway. I recall CT claiming an oil change/service is required at 80,000 km so this is virtually a fit and forget kit.

Why this supercharger?

There are pretty much two types of supercharger for the the FN2, there is this CT charger and JRSC and also Rotrex/Kraftwerks which are essentially the same type of centrifugal charger. The latter are even more expensive and capable of more peak power with an intercooler, but even then they cannot match the low down and accessible torque that this CT supercharger provides. Rotrex is a great kit also but the power delivery is much like an NA K20, making its power over 7000k RPM and you always need to down shift to make the most of it. This CT engineering charger is still progressive in its delivery yet it has a flatter torque curve and provides around 90% of its total peak torque from as low as 4000rpm. Basically what this means is you can be cruising at reasonably low rpm (say 3000) and the car will pull with a fair amount of power. As we know, an NA FN2 is absolutely gutless at 2-3000rpm and would barely move unless you down shifted and climbed to 5k rpm or so, especially if you're at high speed. Similarly Rotrex, although it may produce more top end, a CT charger with even less power will still out do the rotrex considerably in the lower power band. My own CT charger, although it is an upgrade over this actual kit, makes a good 50lbft more than a 400bhp Rotrex at 3500 RPM. It will even provide slightly more torque than some turbo setups before 5krpm, at which point the turbo kicks in and brutal torque is unleashed :)

Reliability and MPG

These CT Eaton M62 chargers themselves are incredibly reliable and I believe are used in some OEM applications in other cars (Jaguar?) For my own charger there has been virtually no maintence, I have had to replace a bearing with a superior one, and superior tensioner systems are available but not necessary. Unlike the Rotrex kit, these can hit the limiter without any issue, i'm not sure if rotrex have revised their kit now but there were many reports of simply bouncing off the limiter causing the charger to fail. Also I heard many accounts of shafts snapping and other issues meaning their kits had to be replaced or repaired under warranty. As long as your car is monitored and installed properly, there are generally no issues with CT charger kit and I would honestly say it is the most reliable kit, equal to the tdi north turbo kits maybe - i've heard nothing bad about them either.

MPG when cruising with be the same, if not slightly better than a factory unmodified FN2. I can do a bit over 300 miles to a full tank on motorway journeys without effort. Unlike Rotrex, CT has a bypass valve which means upon cruising when engaged with no boost, the parasitic loss is less than 0.5bhp. However, if you VTEC and race the car it will use more fuel inevitably and as you would expect! it's far too much fun tbh.

What power can I make with this kit?

With the 3.15" stage 2 pulley I believe up to 330bhp is possible with full bolt ons, a larger throttle body, 3" exhaust and a big bore inlet (not included in the kit but can be purchased). Perhaps a bit more with FD2 cams. Even more possible is power with a charger cooler. They are not cheap at over $1300 from the states but If you decided to install one as I have done, then with a smaller 2.95" pulley 370bhp and 260lbft is possible, with fantastic low down power/torque.

Eitherway with only your typical bolt ons, this kit is generally going to make 300bhp and around 210lbft,which on an FN2 with 5.1 final drive makes a very very quick car and not much on the road will rival you. Spend a bit more and aim for 320-330 and it's going to be very quick indeed. My somewhat restrictive chargecooled setup made 340bhp and 230lbft and I will post a chart and videos below once this has been approved to give people an idea.

Supercharger Whine

The charger, like JRSC is known for its mechanical whine which is highly additive. To hear it more prominently i've fitted a very quiet exhuast and you can hear it bwgin from 3000rpm. I can drive slowly through town and put my foot down partially and momentarily and the whine will turn heads every time - people do not have a clue what the sound is and are intrigued. Overtaking cars at speed leaves them utterly bewildered. Once again i'll post some of my own videos when this is approved.

Any questions don't hesitate to ask, and there is lots more I could say. More pics and videos will be uploaded in the next few days and when this post is approved. Collection from Crewe area is preferable but insured courier/delivery is potantially an option. I will also offer any support to a potential buyer, although not mechanic I can provide other related advice and resources/contacts that would aid in installation. Payment by cash on collection or we can discuss privately other options. I will not request any paypal gift of course. Once again the price is £2290

I have read the rules will obey them to the letter x x x x
