Participants in the Punjab Mega Model Hunt with a grand fashion show in the campus by LPU’s School of Fashion Technology and School of Journalism and Film Production.
Jalandhar, March 23, 2013: LPU’s School of Fashion Technology and School of Journalism and Film Production concluded the Punjab Mega Model Hunt with a grand fashion show in the campus.
The activity which was one of the largest model hunt activity in a state was aimed to provide hands on experience to students to conduct fashion shows and events. Activities which ran for five days witnessed numerous workshops to groom the contestants, who came from across the state.
Journalism and Film Production Department of the university helped contestants to groom to face camera and fashion technology department groomed them to walk the ramp and design clothes for contestants.
To make this event more grand, LPU students especially invited Femina Miss India Earth Shreya Kishore, Big Boss fame and MTV VJ Siddharth Bhardwaj, Zee TV actor Anand Suryavanshi, Bollywood actor Ruslan Mumtaz and famous Bollywood fashion designer Shravan Kumar.
The event which was based on the Femina Miss India format saw all the 60 finalist contestants to stay in the campus for the 3-days workshop. During different workshops, contestants were groomed on photo shoots, personality building, ramp-walk, make-up and dietary control. Of these contestants, 30 got shortlisted (15 male and 15 female), who walked the ramp on the final day, wearing dresses designed by LPU students.
The contestants participated in three rounds of ‘Know Me’, ‘Free Spirit’ and ‘Firing Squad’.
The 7-Member Jury, which included Marathi Film Director Sandeep Jadhav, Femina Miss India Finalist Jyot Priya Sud, CEO Seema Pimpley, Pollywood Director HS Sandhu as members and was headed by Femina Miss India Earth-2009, Shreya Kishore.
Talking to Media, LPU Chancellor said: “I am happy to note that such a big event has brought students hands on experience toward designing and grooming of raw talent. I have marked that the contestants who walked the ramp today were quite different and confident than they were earlier during their first day of workshops. If these contestants can gain sea changes within a small span of 5 days, it is certain that the LPU students with longer stay with these departments will learn perfections in their related works.” He further said: “Students should now learn towards organization of such events and to establish themselves in allied fields for illustrious achievements.”
