A Tamale Circuit Court has remanded into Prison custody two of the five suspects arrested in Bimbila for allegedly possessing sophisticated weapons.

The suspects, Andani Osman and Dasana Mahama Andani were on Monday arraigned before court and are set to reappear in court on December 12.

According to the police, the suspects were arrested through the collaborative efforts of security operatives in the Northern Region.

Citi News has gathered that three of the suspects detained at the Yendi Divisional Police Command have been granted Police inquiry bail.

But the family of the murdered Bimbila chief, Naa Andani Dasana Abdulai II in an exclusive interview with Citi News accused the Northern Regional Police Command of selective justice.

The murdered Bimbila chief’s family Spokesperson, Osman Kikaa claimed the police have been witch-hunting persons loyal to the Gbugmayili in the Nanung Traditional Area.

“It is quite clear that the exercise conducted in Bimbila that resulted in the arrest of the five suspects was not a random search.”

He stated that “I want to put it on record that the Police Commander and the security there, selectively ransacked some houses belonging to the sympathizers of the late Bimbila Naa Andani Dasana Abdulai II.”

The police are still investigating to unravel the mystery surrounding the late Bimbila chief’s murder.
